Both vocal and instrumental version of The Greatest Gift are beautiful and meaningful. Thank you very much for sharing :-) Brings back good old memories.
Great track from the Return of the Pink Panther film score. Fits perfectly with scene it came from with the beautiful Catherine Schell arriving & driving throught the great French countryside.
One of my favorites…thanks for the nice pictures! I’ve been receiving gifts from God since I was in my mother’s womb. He prepared the universe, people with their ingenuity and my simple yet loving parents. And the greatest gift is the love of Jesus. He died to pay the penalty of my sin and to them that receive Him
Heyyyyy I always wondered what this tune was when I heard it in the Pink Panther.... man...the 60's had such class...I was born in the 80's, but I think I would have loved the 60's.
Great composer and song. The Greatest Gift is Our Heavenly Father giving us His only begotten Son on a cross at Calvary. Thank you Heavenly Father. I'm so glad I accepted the Great Gift talked about in Ephesians 2:8,9 For by Grace you are saved, not of your own works, less you would boast. It is a free Gift. WOW

Oh Dear Henry; I miss you and your music so much it hurts. But I'm ever so grateful for all the beautiful music you left me to remember you! No replication can happen with the Mancini style.
Ah, Catherine Schell driving in the countryside in the south of France in 1975. Of course, this was the background music for that scene in "The Return of the Pink Panther" starring Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau. I saw this when I was ten years old in the theatre and was immediately enchanted by the tune (and laughed uproariously throughout this film and its two sequels---and two prequels).
I've been looking for this song for years!! I love it. I just remembered part of its name in Spanish. I'm not sure but I think it was the soundtrack of an American TV series.
I heard Johnny Mathis sing this many years ago and have not been able to find that version since. Hearing it recalls memories of winter nights in front of the fireplace.
It was something of a background song in the 1975 film RETURN OF THE PINK PANTHER (it plays while Peter Sellers tries to woo the very charming Catherine Schell)--you're right, it is a great fireplace sort of song.
I heard this wonderful music more than 30 years ago and has been in my mind ever since. A pleasant for meditation, relaxation, or when you're depressed... and makes me feel better. I had this record with lyrics by Henry Mancini as well, but was misplaced. Also had a chanced to watched his concert in Hollywood Bowl twice, way back 20 years ago while dating my wife. Thank you so much for sharing. A perfect for Mother's/Father's Day.
...one of my all-time favorites! I actually watched the Pink Panther movie screening after screening until the last full show just to memorize the melody of this song. One of the first songs I played on keyboards...thanks for posting!
Please post Henry Mancini's Once Is Not Enough... i love this song very much.

Angie - Mancini's my next favorite after Ray Conniff.
I have playlisted 3000 songs by artist or by years 1950-1999. You should find nearly every available upload for each of the artists on my lists!
Most play for at least an hour, some lots longer.
