so spend more than a decked out mini-z on a x mod and you get an improved toy. we have some serious toys, but they know their place. and race in their own class.
Looks like the car is somewhat starved for traction or that you was a bit greedy in speed when going into a corner, some of them you got just right, but other then that it seems the car performed quite well.
there is a few mini z owners on youtube that post videos about the mini z vs xmod trying to make the xmod look worse then what it is when it comes to steering and speed and such.
but they was comparing a gen 1 xmod vs a mini z ( go figure),
Neither the Gen 1 or the Gen 2 is what one would call track worthy, PERIOD. The 'Xmod' in this race is a Zmod in fact! IE it has the mini-z electronics. + a ton of aftermarket parts, its a sled. you are correct, the zmod driver is a 'greedy' type, never pulling the trigger or finessing the steering, giving no quarter to any other driver/ car on the track, instead pegs the trigger and slams the wheel, (he even at one time broke the steering wheel off his KO Propo radio! go figure...
heck no not stock the xmods are not, but what i was getting at was the fact that they was using a gen 1 xmod in comparison to a mini z on how much better a mini z is (i know that a mini z is better), when a evo can make a gen 1 look bad itself.
the most things wrong with the xmod is the wheel slop, the differential you buy for 4wd is trash
just watch it, they are intentionally making the xmod look worse then it really is (and even looks worse because they are using a gen 1)
What i consider a toy is something you buy from walmart (including those crap things they call RC), but if you really look at it this hobby is nothing but playing with expensive toys, no matter if its hobby grade or a xmod.
The Gen1 was really that bad. no turning though you could hack them to make em turn better. Xmods are something you would expect to buy at wal-mart. While the mini-s is toy sized, it is still a serious RC racing model, not so the Xmod. If you wish to believe my RC "Toys" are really toys, might in introduce you to some of my other models, 1/4 scale bi-plane/1.60 CID 4 cycle twin, Revo and Jato 3.3, now imagine them running into you/your ankle say,at speed...
Dude i own gas powered RC planes and a heli (from the 1970's) yes they are serious but they are still considered toys. a hobby is something someone loves to do and invest time and money into to keep on enjoying it. I wanted to see what i could get a xmod to do and so far i am impressed with the results for being a walmart grade toy.
SO do you fly them or just look at em? I have a blade 3D 400 (among many others, I have 29 years experience a) While you may play with toys, I play with my scale models. In the loose sense, as in big boy toyz, they are my toys, but they are in no way, a toy. I have thousands of dollars worth of RC Models ,"toyz." if it costs less than 100$ its a toy, got me?
i own 3 planes (2 i do just look at) and 1 heli ( i just look at) and one i use to fly before i crashed it (wing broke off during a loop). these thing are old and have value to me since they was my dads (he died when i was 4). i never really wanted to fly any of them because of that reason.
the one i crashed was a P40 flying tiger, the others , sea plane (cant find any info about it) and one is a wire controlled plane. the heli is a old bell.

oops i sneezed and hit enter by mistake. continuing from above.
the electronics are not as good as what they could be (stacking fets takes allot of that issue away) or buying a v2.2 power board.
there is allot wrong with the xmods but all of it can be corrected with upgrades.
wow breaking off the wheel off that's a bit hard on something

they who is using a gen 1? the zmod is a gen 2 chassis.
Fet ed xmod is nice but they are still 'toys'...
