  • Is acetone in the final bubbler?

  • @Maurice419 YES ! a proper modifier keeps your work under control , Pure HHO is not always a good solution unless cooper-cooper welding , most tasks require a modifier, sometimes Acetone, alcohol, or Kerosene, or Gasoline , dependes on the task you are doing regards Daniel

  • HI Alex .. yes I use an acetone modifier, and flux paste ,also welding rods with 2% silver works fine ( the cheappest ones) .. about using that for the bubblers I did it, but after some months had problems .. finally ...now I pay for a TIG welder .. for equipments I sell, and silver rods for experiments

  • @daniel2008C You have problems with bubblers (water, acetone) or with reservoir (NaOH,KOH)? What is problem, leaking?

  • HI,your videos are great! When you brazing this SS tubes,do you use acetone bubbler? And what is the best, borax or flux paste?Do you know about bronze and silver rod,do they resistant to NaOH and KOH?I make electrolyte reservoirs from SS tubes and have problem with welding (now I must pay for this 30 euros) and I think about brazing with HHO and bronze or silver rods! I think bronze not so good, and I havent experience with silver. What you think?

  • it work, but its brazing procedure,im an ardent protector of the hho torch(im a metal worker, and a welder)but i wonder the day when somebody can really weld,ss ,plain steel and iron without using brass brazing rod and flux, but good works,im in construction of a hho torch right now,my final project is making a real welder and an oxycuting torch, keep goin

  • @psyboyboy HI ; hope to see it too ! it is a task for a professional welder like you,

there are a lot of parameters to consider, atmosphere ( is 100% Neutral) seems to be the first barrier, 2nd one.....to keep the Carbon into the steel ..... ( HHO Burns it) .. SO good luck and regards !

  • Thanks, nice to see some inox work with hho torch. Can it actually be welded? I've heard that welding steel with hydrogen makes it brittle.

  • Hi, HHO can weld cooper , but can just braze Inox , brittle is controlled bubbling HHO in acetone ( donate to steel the carbon molecules burnt by HHO ), consider HHO welding / brazing seriously for delicate tasks, not for structural use, I build bubblers, arrestors, gas vaporizers, chillers, but if you need to weld an inox bike frame... better use a TIG. just there is a correct tool for each work..

  • Thats not welding, youve got to melt the two metal to join them together when welding, it looks like your brazing or soldering to me, and your using flux which you dont need when gas welding

  • HI Funguy , You´re right , sorry but Spanish does not have a word for Brazing , Braze or weld is "Soldar" in Spanish and most English users do not search for Brazing but welding , and my idea is just to show some interesting tasks can be performed with HHO ...but I agree the description is technically not accurate .. best regards Daniel .

  • No problemo!

  • Great work!!

Hey, maybe you need to dry up your gas first...

    Your gas is too orange...

Dry it up and it will go blue!!

  • OK.. YES you are right ... I will do it but , how do you suggest to do it ? I

  • hellow friend i have a very good homade gas dryer it uses a sodium hydroxide charge

  • @NOBOX7 HI ! This is usable?Do you must change NaOH charge often? I thinking about silica gel...Now I use SS steam condenser after the reservoir and 5um filter after the bubbler..

  • @NOBOX7 silica gel absorbs oxygen i think, and i decided i dont need a gas dry , the torch works just as good if you use it correctly

  • looks not so fast welding, but its cheap, if there isnt much welding !?

  • Yes , .. are just 3.5 LPM ( 640 Watts ) a bigger equipment would work probably faster .

, HHO is not the solution for everything, I would buy a TIG to weld SS professionally , but HHO is a good solution for a lot of tasks , I use it daily to build my experiments.

Professional Welding is a science , there are lot of welding methods , and the limit is just the money .. so..I am basically agree with you !

  • Dear George ... HHO will not weld an exhaust manifold , but braze using flux and bronze , and will not suggest that either . HHO is not the solution for everything , most welding /brazing tasks will require anyway qualified skills . However if you want to install a EGT gauge, is going to be easier to drill ,carefully clean the burrs and tap with a 1/4 inch NPT tap..best regards Daniel

  • i seen a clay pipe being welded with

    hho

  • Can you pass me the link ? I am very interested , need to repair my kiln . , have several refractory clay bricks damaged ..

  • im afraid i cant find it ,but if your killn is damaged perhaps you could use glase

to weld them togethr it may be just enogh to hold it , or maybe glass rod inserts would self weld when you fire up the kiln,,if i see the link ill send it,also calcium hydroxide should do great

  • Will the HHO torch also work for welding together an EGT bushing or nut onto my car's exhaust manifold ? Or is just brasing things together the best that I can expect from using an HHO torch over using a regular gas settling torch ?

  • wow, how many amps and volts are you working with

  • Dear Steven , I am using a dry cell with 20 Neutral plates between POS and Neg , and a 10years old AC Electric Rod welder as AC power supply I rectify with a full diode bridge , gives me 40V DC and 16 amps =640W with 5.5 mmw is about 3.5 LPM and works with any tip around 1/32 " ( +-1 mm) , and I am using same cell in the next videos to test different flames characteristics .

    Thanks for watching !!!

  • Dear SS , proud to have your visit to my video, This is not the case of melting both metals together, we use a filler, the molten filler metal and flux ( Borax) interacts with a thin layer of the SS, to form a strong joint., (+- 1⁄3 as strong as the SS ), probably enough for most experiments ....The point was to show how to "weld " SS pipes or plates with HHO , and show , we don't need a $700 MIG to continue innovating.. and you´re right in English brazing is more exact .

  • thanks ... its nice to see someone work with on of these things that actually knows what they are doing ... but is that really welding or is that what folks call brazing ???

  • you can cool the flame down by passing the gas thru a acetone bubbler.

that is how the commercial HHO welders reduce the heat and get around the hydrogen embrittlement problem.

  • Dear m3sca1 : Thanks for this important information !! will try that !

  • your welcome-you can see a chinese made commercial HHO welder being used by YouTuber
