That speacies has stranded once in florida and is mostly suspected to have an artic range. the teeth of these whales are on the base of the beak. maybe Mesoplodon europaeus ?
@tonyhawk89 and @donkeyfieldmouse They're Blainville's beaked whale (Mesoplodon densirostris). Note the light brown coloration and arched jawline (evident even in females). They've been studied off the Bahamas for years now. They primarily occur in warm temperate and tropical waters, though they've been recorded as far north as Iceland.
@tonyhawk89 You're thinking of Sowerby's (Mesoplodon bidens). They're a primarily cool-temperate species that have stranded once on the Gulf coast of Florida. Gervais's (europaeus) is a primarily tropical species.
Not completely surprised by the good fortune of this amazing event. Nan Hauser is so dedicated to whale study that they must feel her energy - as this mother beaked whale did while in the act of birth. A credit to Nan's love for her work...
Too much people talking and not enough Crittercam footage. This is thrilling and truly rare footage of a little-known species, but could it be a little bit less about the researchers? I was expecting to see more whales than people in the video.
mystery solved: it's a whale with a beak nose.

Ya, my bad.
I would say arctic, cold temperate, perhaps sub-Arctic, I doubt it ventures further north then Greenland.
