Gotta love the emotional old man talking about his grandson. Hey pops, John Lott didn't shoot your grandson. Therefore, John Lott doesn't owe him an apology! John Lott is a scientist who looks at the numbers. And the numbers say for every 1 bad thing that happens with a gun, about 5 good things happen in return. So, your grandson is paralyzed (yea, this sucks), but about 5 other people are not dead or not injured in return. Some people are just too selfish to think about anything but themselves.

How do we know that this guy's grandson was really shot or even exists. The CSPAN call ins are like internet message boards. People scream (or type loudly) with unverified facts and arguments based on their own biases. That guy also seems to forget that the guy who shot his grandson was probably already a felon and not eligible to own a firearm in the first place.

These people don't realize that criminals aren't going to follow the "No-Gun" laws. People like us, law abiding citizens, will follow the laws. So, basically, their taking away our right to defend our selves.

Whats really sad is that this same data is available to the politicians and the media. Why there are some who have chosen an agenda that is fueled by lies and deception is beyond me. People cannot be that dumb... why the anti-gun agenda?
