  • thx

  • really helpful thanks alot!!!! ;)

  • Thanks helped a lot

  • thanks man helped alot :D

  • cool thanks

  • putting your hand is a optional thing... i know kids that put it behind their back behind their ankle. me i put it along my right thigh in a soft fist with my thumb tucked in.

  • @ibmkpjr wilson a2k pudge

  • what kind of glove is that

  • Is it the same for softball

  • On a high pitch you don't bring your glove down because you could drop the ball and let someone steal a base

  • isn't there 3?

    1. Sign giving stance

    2. no one on base (relaxed stance)

    3. people on base (block throw stance)

  • shoulders width apart for me is a little to close for when a runners on base but thats just me

  • thanx for the tips man! They helped me be a starter, catching for varsity, the whole season, as a freshmen!!!

  • I played catcher at a D1 university, so lets correct this stuff. Catching stance is what is most effective for you. Theres no set stance. For instance, I had a high, wide stance, giving me more mobility and speed. I also always had my free hand on my knee. I never had my glove hand on my knee either. But this stance doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for me.

  • @beavers29 Blocking the ball. Angle your chest down to keep the ball right in front of you. Why would you make it go somewhere you're not? ie, the plate (the hardest, fastest surface around you) keep that ball in front of you, no matter where you are. Keeping the glove by your foot so no one sees the sign? Theres a flaw in that theory. What happens when the opposing coach is on the other side? Keep your fingers close to your crotch with a low crouch. No ones going to see it.

  • @beavers29 As far as that throw, theres so much more than just that. If youre not going to explain it, dont explain it. On the bright side, I did like the framing aspect of this. Basically what he was saying in this is move the ball into the strike zone with your wrists rather than moving your whole arm. This is done by closing your glove around the ball how he explains.

  • @beavers29 It's too keep the third base coach form picking the sign.

  • @noahmcdx yes i know what he was saying. what i'm saying is what if the coach on the other side of the glove. or are left handed catchers just fucked?

  • @beavers29 There are no left handed catchers. Period.

  • @noahmcdx uhhh yeah their is we have 2 pitchers on my team me and this girl destiny shes a lefty..

  • @ISHJO If you're still on baseball teams with girls, your at a low enough level where a left handed catcher isn't impossible. There has never been a left handed catcher in the major leagues.

  • @noahmcdx wow ur so gay!Im in softball!!And stop underestimating girls.Dumb ass,you probably dont even play ball.

  • @ISHJO You never mentioned you played softball. There are no left handed catchers in baseball. And most girls transition to softball by 6th or 7th grade.

  • @beavers29 regardless as to whether or not your facts are right, stating you caught at a D1 university says just about nothing. I see many D1 catchers who catch like shit, and I mean shit. Most catchers don't learn proper mechanics and catching technique til they get drafted. I'm 13, and cringe sometimes at how underground it is. For example, how you go watch a video of bryce harper, and everyones sucking his dick about how good a catcher he is. He's a terrible catcher. He just rakes.

  • @noahmcdx oh i see.... so it would make complete sense for the coaching staff to work on everyone elses defensive skills and mechanics except for the catchers. cause our mechanics aren't important. or do we as a team not do anything at practice and the object of college ball is to suck. not to win the CWS like we did two years in a row. oregon state beavers. the name is erik ammon. please kid... tell me how it is. have fun in middle school.

  • @beavers29 Okay. They may work on the mechanics. But they don't know them. A select few, even college coaches, know proper catching mechanics.

  • Oh right... So if you give signs to your pitcher... you hold your glove by your shins??

Dude hold it by your knee then the coach can't see the signs...

    If you don't believe me?

    Freeze the video at 2:00

If I was a coach I would laugh at you...

  • @morganneman Your retarded. It's the third base coach. The manager in the dugout isn't going to be shouting to the batter.

  • thanks i made the team and i start thanks a lot

  • You know as much about catching as Miss South Carolina does about world economics.

  • You are actually the worst catcher...allstar chesty with easton shins? clean it

  • song?

  • @zappo133 the song is called goodbye my love by love hate hero

  • thanks man there were a few things in there i needed to know im about to try out for my middle school team any advise
