  • Scarecrow was tossed aside in batman begins

  • christopher nolan batman movies better than tim burtons

  • The intro was awsome man! Love the song choice :)

  • I hate Superman Returns for many reasons. The biggest reason is that Superman's morals are all over the place. If you want me to elaborate more just ask. :)

  • wish you put the hulk closer to the tome 10, but at least you have him on the list > : D

  • The Mask :D! Batman: Under the Red Hood :D! (You're spot-on about Bruce Greenwood needing to voice Batman more often. It's my absolute favorite animated Batman film too) Batman: Mask of the Phantasm :D, Batman Begins as your number 1 :D!! It's so refreshing to encounter someone who shares my exact same taste :)

  • A very interesting list, may I suggest a few of my favorites that you may not have seen. The Blade Trilogy,Punisher(War zone)and Heavy metal(Ahead of its time in animation).

  • My top 20 (I don't include non-theatrical release films): 1. The Dark Knight 2. Watchmen 3. Batman Begins 4. X2 5. Sin City 6. Batman 7. Spider-Man 2 8. V for Vendetta 9. Iron Man 10. Road to Perdition 11. Hellboy 12. Kick-Ass 13. Superman II 14. Batman Returns 15. Superman 16. 300 17. Spider-Man 18. Hellboy II: The Golden Army 19. The Incredible Hulk 20. Superman Returns
  • seen all of these films *But not the DC of DD **I will see it, and i have to say there isnt really much to move around in this list.

  • wait a second, you said batman forever was better than any other superhero movie to come before it, and then you said superman the movie, which comes before batman forever.

  • @SirSlingShotMan No, I said it was more enjoyable.

  • the only reason the ending in the Donner cut is the fly around the world reversing time again is because Superman one and 2 were supposed to be one big movie split into two parts and that was the real ending ... the original ending for Superman 1 was superman throwing the missle into space releasing Zod ending on a cliffhanger and to be continued in Superman II

  • @llLYRIKll I know, but I hate the ending in both movies. It's a lazy excuse to me, and it means that "Superman II TRDC" only happened for the audience and Superman. And when Joe-El tells him that it is forbidden to interfere in human history, it makes even less sense. I don't like the ending in Superman 1 either.

  • I was going to comment saying was was Dark Knight so low, but after see the full list I know why, there are a couple disagree with but as you said at the beginning, it's your list not mine. Also can you do a list of you top ten favorite x-men characters. I did a list but my list had no first class or wolverine, which my top to are jean gray and wolverine, but I would like to see you list.

  • Once again, missed this out too wth. Stupid YouTube didn't tell me on the homepage you uploaded these videos and btw LOVING the new intro. THANK YOU FOR ADDING THE MASK!!! Love that movie and no one knows it was originally a comic book. I actually have nothing to disagree man. Loving this list!

  • This is one of the unique list I have ever seen on YouTube. I respect your opinion, but I can't understand how anyone can like Batman Forever more then Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. I guess that you have a really big nostalgic spot on Batman Forever, but so do I. As a kid I loved Batman (1989), Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Batman Forever, but now when I watch the films I can really see that Mask of the Phantasm is the best one of those films.

    Anyway, great video.

  • I LOVED THESE MOVIES

  • I wonder if the Dark Knight Rises will go as far into Batmans psych as much as Batman Begins, I really hope so!

  • That's a fantastic list! Really enjoyable video!

  • glad to see the first two xmen in your list...number three was nothing like it could have been...wish singer hadn't left that one...all in all great list.

  • Cool vid. I'd have a similar list to this too, I reckon.

    Bert Newton's 20-1 CBMs!

No, thanks for doing the best of, rather than a 'worst CBMs list'.

There's so many movies now that a Top 100 wouldn't be much of stretch like 10 years ago.

Good onya, and Happy New Year!

  • good list, i was suprised that none of the hellboy movies made the list

  • Carrying on from my last comment, Thats why the end of TDK was so strong for me, its like iv been with Wayne since the very beginning, I for one certainly had a tear or 2 in my eye lol, anyway great job again! :)

  • Great list dude, I was hoping you had Begins at the top, its a shame it got pushed aside and TDK gets all the praise, as brilliant as it is, many people iv spoke to watched Begins AFTER seeing TDK lol. One thing I did love about Begins that you mentioned was the fact we actually become invested in the character of Wayne, it would be so easy to fall into that trap of "has he still not got the suit yet? is he batman yet?"

  • I agree about Batman Forever. Don't let people tell you how to feel.

I'm actually pretty backwards with regards to the Iron Man films. I hated the first one and have grown to love it. On the other hand, the elements of Iron Man 2 that I didn't like were the SHIELD parts; it just seemed like it was relying too much on stuff outside of the movie itself.

  • Really good list! I agree that many aspects of Batman Begins are better than the Dark Knight, but IMO I still like Dark Knight more because it feels like more of a definitive Batman and comic book movie. Some people might get mad at me for saying this but Superman Returns could possibly be my favorite comic/superhero movie. I love the themes, the special effects, the action (plane scene anyone?) the ideas that Bryan Singer explores are amazingly deep.

  • I like the new intro, a very cool guitar X-men theme!

  • Great list my friend. Even though your number 1 was surprising, you backed it up very well. Her are my top 5 tarting from 1: TDK, Superman II, The Crow, The Punisher '04, and Daredevil.

  • Awesome list - you made me think about Batman Forever in ways I never had before, so thanks! I'll have to pick up that Daredevil Director's Cut at some point, might find the film more interesting than I did the first time. And I was glad to see how many great films are on this list which I love as much. I'm interested to see if Cap, Thor, Cowboys, Transformers and Green Lantern (not to mention First Class, The Wolverine, Avengers, Spidey rebbot and Dark Knight Rises in 2012) changes your list.

  • I totally see eye to eye with you on Batman Forever. I remember watching it everyday after school on VHS back in '96. I still have the vhs. its a part of my childhood and i just enjoy watching it.

  • Yay for Batman Begins! :-D

  • My personal list is something like this: 1 -Iron Man 2 -The Incredibles 3 -Unbreakable 4 -Road to Perdition 5 -Superman: The Movie 6 -A History of Violence 7 -Iron Man 2 8 -Batman Begins 9 -Kick-Ass 10-The Rocketeer 11-American Splendor 12-Men in Black 13-X2: X-Men United 14-Superman 2 15-Sin City
  • @SavageVandar Continued...16-The Dark Knight 17-Spider-Man 2 18-Blade 19-The Incredible Hulk 20-V for Vendetta 21-The Punisher 22-The Shadow 23-The Mask 24-Constantine 25-Watchmen 26-Spider-Man 27-X-Men 28-Batman 29-Darkman 30-Batman Returns
  • Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, The Mask, V for Vendetta, Superman I and II, Iron Man 1 and 2, Spider-Man 1 and 2, Batman: Under the Red Hood, X-Men 1 and 2, Watchmen, Daredevil: Director's Cut, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are all great choices, man. Excellent list.

  • @SavageVandar Cont...I do say that there are even more than 20 good films in this genre and maybe some you simply haven't seen yet. Or maybe you have but I'm now curious to see a top 30 of yours.

  • we all have different opinions. heck i think kick ass and punisher war zone were two of the best.

  • Bruce Greenwood is actually voicing Two Face in Arkham City!

  • I just watched Batman Under the Red Hood. It's predictable as I knew Red Hood was Jason Todd five minutes into the movie. The "no selling drugs to kids" line was what tipped me off. But it's the messages in the film that make it great. The 'hell of my own making' 'doing what it right vs doing what is nessecary' and codes of honour and morality are all great concepts for characters to deal with. They've been done before but this film does it well and I can see why it is on your list.

  • @ShadesAtKnight also Chris Evans and Brandon Routh are in it, which is awesome

  • @ShadesAtKnight I wouldn't have seen it because of Michael Cera, but I liked the director and the comics, and I really liked it.

  • @MarkFaust even worse than Catwoman, Batman and Robin, Spawn, Superman3&4, Spiderman 3 and Transformers 2?

  • @ShadesAtKnight what did you think of Scott Pilgrim? Personally I love the comics and the film.

  • @TheDarkwasp I've gotta be honest, I haven't seen it yet. I didn't really have a desire to see it, mainly because of Michael Cera, but I've heard many good things about it since.

  • good list. I agree in many ways. But what's about 300?

  • Real interesting insight into what you're into and backed up with your reasons why you like them. Quite a few notable omissions like Punisher Warzone ( a lot of that movie is right off the pages} and Blade, the first two Blade movies would make my list somewhere, and no Hellboy or Constantine. Really enjoy what you have to say man, and I love the new intro. Looking forward to more "Shedding Shade" in 2011, Happy Holidays Shades!

  • Personally i would've left out The Phantom and Batman Forever (one of the worst 'hero' films ever made in my opinion). Kick Ass and Blade should be there somewhere. And my number one pick would've been The Dark Knight. Good video. Keep making vids like this, they're fun to watch.

  • @MarkFaust I absolutely hated Kick-Ass. I honestly hate it with a passion. Batman Forever is faaar from the worst superhero films ever made. I recommend watching it again with a more open mind.

  • @ShadesAtKnight okay, well what did you think of the blade movies, and i know we all have different opinions shades, and i respect it, but why did you hate kick-ass?

  • Hope you had a great Christmas! I'm not sure if I'd put Hulk that far back or Superman II that far forward but anyways, good choices. I'll have to check out The Phantam; what year was that made?

  • @TimothyMably Thank you :) I believe The Phantom was 1995.

  • Love this list. I don't agree totally, buy I can respect it.

My only problem? Where the heck is Blankman?

  • I'd say next year Thor or Green Lantern might be on the list. Merry Christmas

  • So, this list is pretty much on point. But, of course it can never be perfect in everyone's eyes. So, the positive: Much respect for putting the director's cut of daredevil on your list. It's just completely overlooked. Watchmen's movie ending was a much better approach than the graphic novel. The Negative: The list needs The Shadow, Blade1or2, DC Animated Films Superman Apocalypse, Justice League: Crisis On Two Worlds/Earths/Whatever & Wonder Woman (Yes, Wonder Woman). Great Job otherwise!

  • I almost cried when you didn't show any love for Batman Begins and then you said it and I completely agree.

Honestly, that is the best comic book movie.

  • I really admire your list. I feel like most people compile a list of "favorites" based purely on critics/audience approval instead of genuine enjoyment on their part. I love Superman Returns and Batman Forever and would never take them off my favorites list in favor of fanhate. Excellent list man!
