-It's not that light scatters more or less light in peoples eyes, it's more like it scatters different kinds different colors of light, let me explain
Light is so complex that when it flashes through certain climates it makes different colors appear (most colors are undetectable by human standards), this is why the sky is blue in the day & orange in the evening, or why there are rainbows. All eye pigment is built to withstand light intensity, but because light is very complex (in terms of color) certain colors of light can be more intense for certain pigment colors that don't match the specific light colors
When 2 tribes of people (with the same exact pigment genes), each live in 2 different climates encounter 2 different "suttle" colors of light (when light scatters in each of the 2 different climates) the set of eye pigment in 1 tribe will slowly accommodate the light scattering in their climate differently than the other tribe (after many generations pass by); If a tribe lived in a climate of 100% red light, their eyes would eventually look different from any other race

I read about a tribe in west-Africa that had a high proportion of blue/green/hazel eyes. It turns out that in the early 1500s a Portuguese Galleon went aground and the surviving crew was accepted and assimilated into that tribe. -Actually it's more like a lack of the production pigment (a loss of genes rather than a mutation of genes), & all albinos have eye colors that range from brown to blue; blue eyes are not an albino trait. Albino eye color is pink. Genes that make eye color is so complex that both brown & blue eyes actually have the same genes, & that the scattering of light in certain climates is what ACTUALLY "awakens" certain eye colors

Light is so complex that when it flashes through certain climates it makes different colors appear (most colors are undetectable by human standards), this is why the sky is blue in the day & orange in the evening, or why there are rainbows. All eye pigment is built to withstand light intensity, but because light is very complex (in terms of color) certain colors of light can be more intense for certain pigment colors that don't match the specific light colors

But you can pretty much type in "how do eyes get their color?" in just about any education website, & there will be many articles that will explain "what" & "how" to the question; The proper articles explain how all healthy eyes have the same genes (DNA code) & are SO complex that the only differences in color pigment is determined by how they're distributed by the genes to accommodate for the scattering of light.

I read about a tribe in west-Africa that had a high proportion of blue/green/hazel eyes. It turns out that in the early 1500s a Portuguese Galleon went aground and the surviving crew was accepted and assimilated into that tribe. Hundreds of years later, their genes are still apparent....There's been lots of contact between Mediterraneans and Africans over thousands of years. Seeing light eyes in some "black" Africans isn't surprising.

@convvana no, that theory has been debunked. Climate did not make people light or dark skinned, or have blue or brown eyes. It's more complex than that.

they just get a random lucky mutation but this is nothing special att all. they r extremely rare and unlike blacks, Europeans are naturraly selected to have blue green eyes but those blacks just got lucky.

@1on1Hardcore I'm talking about now. Not all light or white Africans are mixed with other races. There are Europeans (the conquerers of most of the world, the brutes, the Dutch, the Afrikaans, then you have the Arab type, such as the Egyptians, Libyans, Moroccans, etc.

@alvarezah I don't disagree with how white skin came to be but, what you described is an "ADAPTATION" not a mutation. A mutation is more spontaneous like a person born with 4 fingers. I am sure white skin didn't happen over night. More gradually.

@xxNephlimxx it IS a mutation.So are blue eyes. Mutations can be harmless, beneficial, or harmful. Look up "mutation in DNA" - Mutation is a change in the DNA genetic makeup, but it's more complicated than that

And by the way a mutation in a human being does not create white skin or colored eyes. It is when a strand of replicating DNA inserts the wrong Amino Acid, but it creates stuff like Insertion, which is when extra DNA is inserted into a relicating strand of DNA. So no blue eyes and white skin are not mutations. :)

@rachelhardy14 LOL, learn the definition of "mutation" in regard to genetics. It's not a bad word, but it's part of nature and natural selection, though there are "bad" mutations that result in disease, such as Down Syndrome etc. Also, "insertions" are a type of "mutation"

Cause if you do that explains why you believe in "Natural Selection". And mutations do not create different colored skin or different eye colors it creates bad mutations in the body that make the childs life different from you or me.
