Akainu has such a powerful Devil Fruit when you think about it. I mean lava is hotter than fire, it evaporates water, it melts and spreads over anything it hits, in my opinion its the strongest Logia Devil Fruit seen so far just because of how much destruction it can cause.
Oda's a genius to make me hate akainu, then again. The victory will obviously taste so much more sweeter when luffy beats the flying shit out of this hypocritical douche'!!

They are there becuase whitebeard crew is big, they each have a group of people, it shouldn't be thought of as "this is stronger than that" they all share title, the numbers are just to differentiate between groups. Number has no meaning, 5 might be stronger than 6, but that's not shown through numbers. Vista and Jozu would have beaten Ace.
@Godsword12356 Thatch was division 4 captain. He was killed by a blackbeard who DID NOT have the yami yami no mi. So pretty much a fail blackbeard. And if you say "he pulled a gun" or something on him. Do you obviously think that a person who in your assumption, is stronger than Vista who is division 5 captain, would lose to a fail blackbeard with no devil fruit who only had a gun, blackbeard being above average obviously but not Vista level.

Oda making both main character symbolizes that Luffy is pretty much against the world, he is against pirates and marines both, it shows that he has enemies everywhere, both are main antagonist.

Kong and the elders decide that, Sengoku was giving his two cents. Oda was pointing out that the right choice was Aokiji, Sengoku being buddha and being the word of reason and pointing out the right reasoning on who is the next. But Akainu will become it and rule with an iron fist, the marines will be more agressive towards luffy aswell, perfect setup.

@Godsword12356 Vista is a swordsman on Mihawk's level who knows haki. Jozu also knows haki and he beat Crocodile. Haki, Ace can still use fire but it wouldn't matter, both of them also are long running members of the whitebeard crew.

Vista would crush Luffy and so would Jozu. Ace isn't the third strongest, he's the 5th. Both Jozu and Vista have haki and Vista went toe to toe with Ace, I don't like how Jozu and Vista look but they are stronger than Ace. Jozu would be able to just reject the fire with his diamond body and beat him to death, Vista no question he would beat ACe, don't state..

@1993xnikos Ace is the weakest of the main 4 commanders and that's a fact. Ace is low shichibukai level, he was asked to be one but refused but he isn't a match for Doflamingo, Mihawk, or Kuma. Ace didn't fight equally to Aokiji and btw, Aokiji is ONLY fruit. He sucks at fistfighting and weapons, he was easily disarmed by even Zoro, Luffy, and Sanji back when they were pure noob.

@1993xnikos When they fought Aokiji although he was never hurt he was easily disarmed by the three. He picked up some grass and dirt, threw it and turned it to ice sword. He was then easily disarmed.
Also Whitebeard respects strength but Whitebeard sees Ace as a son. I mean he sees his whole crew as son like figures, even the noobs and him are family.
Kuma when he beat the strawhats (the REAL kuma which is x10000 stronger and faster) proved that he was to fast for luffy to even see.
@1993xnikos Kuma's power is pretty much the ability to reject all attacks, close ranged or long ranged, everything is just rejected by simply flashing his paw. Kuma I could say is faster than Kizaru, Kizaru requires his light to reach out before he teleports while Kuma is instant which light isn't. kuma is one of the revolutionary commanders, that isn't much since he is way stronger than the others so far. Kuma would beat Luffy but now he's just a mindless machine.
@1993xnikos Doflamingo on the other hand, remember how Mihawk did that giant cut and Jozu blocked it with his diamond body. Doflamingo later on casually stopped Jozu from moving an inch of his body while he made small talk with Crocodile about them making a team. Doflamingo also had the highest bounty known of the shichibukai but as you know their bounties stop raising and drop to zero after becoming shichibukai. He wasn't touched during marineford or yet in the series.
@1993xnikos Also because both Ace and Smoker didn't have haki it was a tie since their logia abilities were equal so none could get hurt so really it was just a stalemate. Fire creates smoke so neither one could hurt the other no matter how much steam they burn off. (pun)
Doflamingo uses some sort of strings to puppet people and the strings are steel or something so they are enough to cut off a giant's leg VERY CASUALLY.
Doflamingo will be an arc badguy in few years time.

@mspark89 Jozu has only been shown to go half, it's Oda's way of making him defeatable. I consider Mihawk > Marco by a bit. I also consider Mihawk > Admiral, I know how you say marco beat kizaru and others, but did it really look like they gave a shit about the whole battle, akainu was the one one who did. Kizaru was more entertained with marco's ability and going "ewww, so cool" like he always does except vs rayleigh, and aokiji specializes in large attacks.

Aokiji can freeze over large areas, Kizaru is fast, Akainu is strong. Akainu was beating marco and garp very easily beat marco , and marco's power isn't unlimited. The way I see it, Kizaru would beat marco but it'd take awhile, marco's power will eventually stop healing him, kizaru on the other hand will just avoid getting beat to hell himself and weed marco away. Akainu will overpower him instantly.

The point is, Garp is stronger than the admirals, and btw, he knew the attack was coming, he jumped right infront of him, Garp > Marco, that's dead fact, he's the strongest marine, him and Sengoku. Then the admirals, maybe weaker than Kong but Kong is world government not marines. About the marco's healing ability, it was never mentioned in manga/anime, but oda said himself when describing the power.

He said that Marco's ability isn't unlimited and it gets less effective as the battle goes on, heck you can even notice this going on in this battle of marineford even. He said it outside the manga/anime on his own. So you can see how now?

Kizasru is rule of thumb way faster than marco, kizaru was right infront of him yet a supernova goes "I see a light over there" without even seeing kizaru who was right infront of him. Kizaru is that fast, it doesn't show speed as much becuase oda puts others in slow motion to show his movements.
@mspark89 Aokiji is weak physically as he was disarmed by the 3 monster trio even when they first fought, but logia intangibility isn't all he has. He can freeze large areas at a time, which would be very helpful, he's more about large destructive attacks, Kizaru is about speed, Akainu is the massive power of the team.

Oda making both main character symbolizes that Luffy is pretty much against the world, he is against pirates and marines both, it shows that he has enemies everywhere, both are main antagonist.

@mspark89 I haven't even seen the episode where they fought in anime, I read manga, though I've seen vidoes like this. I'm a manga reader.
Kong and the elders decide that, Sengoku was giving his two cents. Oda was pointing out that the right choice was Aokiji, Sengoku being buddha and being the word of reason and pointing out the right reasoning on who is the next. But Akainu will become it and rule with an iron fist, the marines will be more agressive towards luffy aswell, perfect setup.

the first one is represented by Akainu and second one is represented by Blackbeard
i somehow feel that by the end of the serie, those 2 forces are gonna join hand to fight against good pirates + revolutionaries that seek real moral justice and freedom

@Godsword12356 Vista is a swordsman on Mihawk's level who knows haki. Jozu also knows haki and he beat Crocodile. Haki, Ace can still use fire but it wouldn't matter, both of them also are long running members of the whitebeard crew.
Btw, it doesn't by common sense, wtf you talking about. Commanders... they are all commanders. They all have EQUAL rank, number makes no difference, it's about the individual and not the lower number.

Vista would crush Luffy and so would Jozu. Ace isn't the third strongest, he's the 5th. Both Jozu and Vista have haki and Vista went toe to toe with Ace, I don't like how Jozu and Vista look but they are stronger than Ace. Jozu would be able to just reject the fire with his diamond body and beat him to death, Vista no question he would beat ACe, don't state..

@mpw4c He was invited before joining whitebeard to be a shichibukai. Now I believe Doflamingo would CRUSH him without much effort and so would Mihawk, I'd say Ace was around the level of Crocodile and
Though I see him as the weakest of the MAIN commanders of whitebeard. I know he's not the weakest but by the ones who matter he is. Vista, Marco, and Jozu would pwn him, all having haki and being just superior. Vista I'd say is the strongest of 3. Ace and Crocodile are even.

@1993xnikos Ace is the weakest of the main 4 commanders and that's a fact. Ace is low shichibukai level, he was asked to be one but refused but he isn't a match for Doflamingo, Mihawk, or Kuma. Ace didn't fight equally to Aokiji and btw, Aokiji is ONLY fruit. He sucks at fistfighting and weapons, he was easily disarmed by even Zoro, Luffy, and Sanji back when they were pure noob.

@1993xnikos When they fought Aokiji although he was never hurt he was easily disarmed by the three. He picked up some grass and dirt, threw it and turned it to ice sword. He was then easily disarmed.
Also Whitebeard respects strength but Whitebeard sees Ace as a son. I mean he sees his whole crew as son like figures, even the noobs and him are family.
Kuma when he beat the strawhats (the REAL kuma which is x10000 stronger and faster) proved that he was to fast for luffy to even see.

@1993xnikos Kuma's power is pretty much the ability to reject all attacks, close ranged or long ranged, everything is just rejected by simply flashing his paw. Kuma I could say is faster than Kizaru, Kizaru requires his light to reach out before he teleports while Kuma is instant which light isn't. kuma is one of the revolutionary commanders, that isn't much since he is way stronger than the others so far. Kuma would beat Luffy but now he's just a mindless machine.

@1993xnikos Doflamingo on the other hand, remember how Mihawk did that giant cut and Jozu blocked it with his diamond body. Doflamingo later on casually stopped Jozu from moving an inch of his body while he made small talk with Crocodile about them making a team. Doflamingo also had the highest bounty known of the shichibukai but as you know their bounties stop raising and drop to zero after becoming shichibukai. He wasn't touched during marineford or yet in the series.

@1993xnikos Also because both Ace and Smoker didn't have haki it was a tie since their logia abilities were equal so none could get hurt so really it was just a stalemate. Fire creates smoke so neither one could hurt the other no matter how much steam they burn off. (pun)
Doflamingo uses some sort of strings to puppet people and the strings are steel or something so they are enough to cut off a giant's leg VERY CASUALLY.
Doflamingo will be an arc badguy in few years time.

This shouldn't be a discussion if Doflamingo can curb stomp ace, this should be a dicussion about if Doflamingo could beat Mihawk who is clearly stronger than Ace. Ace is the weakest of the 4 main commanders. There is no proof that Aokiji, Kizaru, and Mihawk have haki, does that mean they don't? I mean we know for a fact they do but they havne't used them yet. Also my ass, Doflamingo would casually beat Ace and avoid that attack.

All vice admirals have haki and the vice admirals are weaker than jozu who is TRASH compared to Doflamingo and Jozu has haki aswell. It'd be like giving goten and young trunks supersaiyan before vegeta and goku got it.

@mspark89 Jozu has only been shown to go half, it's Oda's way of making him defeatable. I consider Mihawk > Marco by a bit. I also consider Mihawk > Admiral, I know how you say marco beat kizaru and others, but did it really look like they gave a shit about the whole battle, akainu was the one one who did. Kizaru was more entertained with marco's ability and going "ewww, so cool" like he always does except vs rayleigh, and aokiji specializes in large attacks.

Aokiji can freeze over large areas, Kizaru is fast, Akainu is strong. Akainu was beating marco and garp very easily beat marco , and marco's power isn't unlimited. The way I see it, Kizaru would beat marco but it'd take awhile, marco's power will eventually stop healing him, kizaru on the other hand will just avoid getting beat to hell himself and weed marco away. Akainu will overpower him instantly.

@mspark89 Marco was being pushed back, if you watch it, he is pushed back several feet.
The point is, Garp is stronger than the admirals, and btw, he knew the attack was coming, he jumped right infront of him, Garp > Marco, that's dead fact, he's the strongest marine, him and Sengoku. Then the admirals, maybe weaker than Kong but Kong is world government not marines. About the marco's healing ability, it was never mentioned in manga/anime, but oda said himself when describing the power.

He said that Marco's ability isn't unlimited and it gets less effective as the battle goes on, heck you can even notice this going on in this battle of marineford even. @mspark89 Well he did say it. And the vice admirals evne have haki, let alone admirals. Akainu also has shown the ability to avoid haki attacks from Vista and Marco/Jozu (forgot which)
Kizasru is rule of thumb way faster than marco, kizaru was right infront of him yet a supernova goes "I see a light over there" without even seeing kizaru who was right infront of him. Kizaru is that fast, it doesn't show speed as much becuase oda puts others in slow motion to show his movements.

@mspark89 Aokiji is weak physically as he was disarmed by the 3 monster trio even when they first fought, but logia intangibility isn't all he has. He can freeze large areas at a time, which would be very helpful, he's more about large destructive attacks, Kizaru is about speed, Akainu is the massive power of the team.

@mpw4c well Sakazuki's a marine admiral and he'd be around longer than Ace...not to mention his magma Logia > Mera Mera no Mi by natural order hence Ace was outmatched though he did well to protect Luffy...
As for Ace's strength? Helped the Mugiwara fend off Smoker and since he was a kid he'd actually had considerable super-human strength...and Ace masters the Mera Mera no Mi to the point despite its weakness water he was able to propel the flame raft he uses to travel + Haki (Haoshoku Haki)
