I have a question if we humans put our petty differences aside and find peace what about the animal kingdom? The animals will still be ripping eachother to shreads and eating eachother alive. How about the billions of animals slaughtered each year for food while they scream and cry? is that peacefull will thinking private thoughts in my own head stop that? Even if every single person on the planet was too busy meditating to fight we would still be killing and eating animals who do feel pain.

Yes, I understand very little of Quantum mechanics, except the theory. How something can be proven with a 'thought' experiment' is out of my range of imagination or intelligence. Yet, I gather that it is in use in computers etc. I'm never too sure about applying Q.M. to psychology, but I do know that certain rhythms in echoey spaces can produce a change in consciousness, & the use of this goes back to primitive man.

First I love David Lynch, his films have been favorites of mine for years and years. Secondly I am a an ardent yoga practitioner and believe what they are saying. But moreover, I find it ironic that David is this proponent for peace but makes such horrific and violent movies. @jcolona1 I too am a David Lynch film fan. Many people are shocked when I rave on about Blue Velvet. I think I interpret it in a different way to many others. I see it as being about innocence versus corruption, with innocence the victor. That's why I love the film, & I''m sure that was his thinking when making that film. Only person I've found who agrees is my brother. When I've shown it to people, they think I must be a secret psychopath. You'll agree that it explains his interest in peace.

nono, I mean real empirical proof. Not abusing scientific theories like the unified field theory to give the impression that this is all scientific fact. Peeps are doing that a lot these days; quantum physics is goes way beyond our imagination, so suddenly anything you can imagine is supported by quantum physics. I've been practicing TM for a long time, but I've always been very skeptical about the claims made about it exactly because of this.

Empirical research is exactly what's in those studies. They created large peace-creating groups and then looked at what happened to crime rate, violence, peace efforts, etc. The statistics used are top rate, and the journals are peer reviewed.

I have actually tried this in a stupid sort of way. I was working at a chicken place and I started drawing a little smiley face on the bag and telling people that I had given them a smile so that they would have one to share with someone else and it always made people smile.

Not only that but it changed my life as well, I went from a crap job to a really good one and it wasn't one of the customers that helped me get it.
