I saw these guyz open for trans am also in Atlanta back in 2000 and they fuckin blew my mind (& trans am off the stage). Seriously one of the best shows I've ever seen.
@BeeDubs1069 Yup this is technically true although for Mars Volta's first show and their first 3 albums, Jon Theodore (who I knew from his amazing work in Golden) was the drummer. Both guys awesome. People should know that before all that Blake Fleming was the drummer for Dazzling Killmen, a vital band that all need to check out.
i seen these guys years ago opening for trans-am in vancouver b.c. canada and it fucking blew my mind. i'd have to say that it was my favorite live music performance ever. it's a shame that they don't play together anymore. these guys blow all the (so-called) post rock bands out the scene. they make tortoise sound like kenny g.
the beats behind the skins of emotion remind me of """{{{{tremulant ep}}}"""" check it out. we need more music like this, expand and search new limits. grow internet is a good source.. pass it on

Their stuff was a little hard for me to find for a while. I hope it's more readily available now, as it should be shared by ALL. Amazing.
