Stupid, insulting bitch. Insult me once, shame on me. Try to insult me again, shame on you. Morrison, why did it take you 10 effing years to explain your "first black president" comment? Because you're a liar, that's why.
Christ, have anyone attempted to insult her in a more original fashion? Whether or not you like her personally you should at least appreciate what her work. Calling a person a 'stupid, insulting bitch' doesn't only 'insult' her, it also insults your intelligence. There a better modes of expression. And adjectives. Use them.
And whether she's an alleged hypocrite or not is irrelevant. She's a person. They tend to contradict themselves on occasion. Deal with it.
Toni Morrison: People misunderstood that phrase. I was deploring the way in which President Clinton was being treated, vis-à-vis the sex scandal that was surrounding him. I said he was being treated like a black on the street, already guilty, already a perp. I have no idea what his real instincts are, in terms of race
I love the comments about the civil rights movement, her analysis was so right, everyone now claims to love MLK, but back then the civil rights movement was seen as radical and MLK was seen as Extremeist.
Personally I don't consider blacks as fully human. Seriously. IQ tests show on average that blacks have lower score. Evolution states that blacks are the missing link between apes and human.
Blacks were the first "People" but whites and Asians had to adapt to harsh environments, which strengthened their intellect. Ever notice that blacks resemble gorillas? same color, sloped forehead, fat lips, and flat nose. It's not just a coincidence. Not every race is exactly the same. Not PC, but true.
You are an idiot. IQ tests aren't always reliable, let alone valid. And if you want to fault them for ignorance... who withheld their education? It wasn't a choice of theirs. What evolution theory did you read?
Well, then should all people white or otherwise stop writing about their history or experiences or other societal pressures that shape who they are? Perhaps, you would prefer that only comics be written.
you shouldn't pay any mind to that sort of person...Ignorance is a difficult thing to cure if the person suffering from it is unwilling to aknowlege it
Around 30.12 -.29 she seems to be talking about the same experience of Richard Pryor who said when he was in an hotel in Africa with a lot of Africans there were lots of black people but no n******s. The US is a special place for people relations.
I so agree with thabronxogz, no matter what, she is a person, and she earned our respect even more so through her body of life-time work!
If you're not sure about what she is saying here, go and read her books and you'll understand what she means.

Am I reading this correctly?
This is 2008, right? Not 1958.
Times have changed. Humans are humans.
