Utah has become the first state to enact sound money bill into law, HB317 Utah Legal Tender Act: recognizes gold and silver issued by the Feds as legal currency. However they can only be used at FACE VALUE, which is ridiculously lower than the value off precious metals at actual face value. If the actual precious metal in your $50 coin has market value of $1400, it is still only worth $50.
IF an Executive Order occurs re confiscation it would be illogical and stupid BUT this gvt known for most idiotic path in everything. PLENTY other 2% groups after that! - but not gvt!
Bob's track record is excellent. Being a subscriber to his letter and following (and acting on) his predictions, I can vouch.
As for gold confiscation, he has posited that they can confiscate PM funds and futures contracts, but they're all gold that's "not there" anyway. The US Gov would be in effect covering JP Morgan shorts, essentially.
But he's never said they'll do the door-to-door thing FDR did.
@LordDyhalto Except FDR never did the door-to-door thing you claim. Again, you don't know much about this issue. Look up Executive Order 6102 if you want to know what really happened. Use a search engine.
Re-checking facts, some search warrants and seizures were done, but these were one-time scare tactics.
My original point still stands though. Gold confiscation today is unenforceable. Nobody living in America who owns it will turn it in, and if they destroy the USD, nobody will turn down gold payment because of some dumb law.
@LordDyhalto Everything that was done then could be done again today. Would it be harder? Probably, as there is a more informed, anti-government resistance. But, in the midst of depression, people will turn in PMs if they have no other option and need money. Glenn Beck and other shills will sell it as patriotic, and the first step to get the U.S. back on solid currency, etc.. The usual bs.

@LordDyhalto First, don't get me wrong, David deserves respect. However, my question for Bob stemmed from the fact David passed on a 'Red Alert' e-mail that he got fromhis pal Roger Wiegand. I think the "Alert" originally came from Roger (Trader Tracks), - but David passed it on, etc. The alert is: "Due to information from multiple high level inside sources of his, of the potential of confiscation of gold and silver from the American Public, this year for a new world currency. .. (continued)
@SGTbull07 ..."when gold touches $2,000 it’s confiscated in the USAfor about $200. Then it’s to be reissued by the Treasury for $10,000 per ounce to back the new IMF world currency using SDRS in 2011. Large physical gold is being moved to Canada." Google: RED ALERT email between Metal Experts - about Confiscation of Gold and Silver by the U.S. Government - Potentially this year for a New World Currency - from Multiple High Inside Sources.
@SGTbull07 Did you listen to David's interview about the Red Alert email? The one where he says he doesn't believe it would happen. Search google for "Sherrie Questioning All: My Interview with David Morgan". Yes David passed the information on, but he probably passes lots of analysis and opinons onto his friends and subscribers. There was no need for Bob to belittle him based on misinformation.
I googled and read it, but I can't see confiscation going beyond seizing the "contents" of PM funds, vaults, futures, and leaving paper IOUs.
Trying to go door-to-door demanding a 1oz Gold-for-$200 USD transaction will end in the first shots of revolution. Even if you or I go down in a hail of gunfire, our still-sleeping neighbours will be jolted awake very quickly.
And all 'shots-fired' scenarios end in Law Enforcement being annihilated.
Also, by confiscating the "not there" PMs, they can continue to write them as assets against their balance sheets, furthering the illusion of solvency.
For a little while longer anyway. We The People are taking sound money back from them, one ounce at a time. If it takes 50 years, thousands of slave notes per oz, and WW3, they're still going to lose.
@LordDyhalto i read an article about 1-2 months ago hinting of confiscation, and with reference to david morgan as the source. I am quite comfortable to hearing or reading from bob chapman.
My family and I are have liquidated everything and sold our house we now live in a tent on unbuilt property and we grow our own food. All the spare money we have is going toward our laser beam to shoot down the cloaked NWO mother ship controlling everyone's brains in low orbit.
@twin1010101010 Heaven forbid they ever bring on that obnoxious child Peter Schiff! If you've ever watched any of his youtube interviews, you'll quickly realize his style of "conversation" is essentially yelling the other person down until they give up, it's intolerable and incredibly unprofessional. I'm here to listen to reasonable thinkers comment sensibly on the economic situation, not to hear the deranged rantings of a child. Ron Paul is a much more reasonable Austrian thinker than Schiff.
I notice too Bob's follow-up comment, that confiscating gold and silver makes no sense because less than 2% of people own it (he meant to say own it in quantity). This is a non-sequitir, as obviously it is easier for the govt to steal from a smaller group than it is from a larger group. Even many non-libertarians understand this.
Under FDR, everybody in America had gold in the cookie jar. When the government came door to door, only the gullible gave it up. Estimates on successful confiscation range from 10-25%. Pretty pathetic given the circumstances.
These days, only people in the know own gold/silver. Gullibility is not an option. Confiscation would have to be enforced with door-to-door storm troopers and that would lead, as Bob said, to all out civil war.
@LordDyhalto You just contradicted yourself. Under the FDR situation, you claim that only a small percentage gave it up voluntarily. Under a modern situation, you assume there would be confiscation under force. You have to learn consistency to carry an argument.
The government can prevent you from legally buying or selling gold. That right there is enough. Likely? No. Should you be aware of that possibility? Yes.
I assume there would be confiscation under force because no other form will work. People who have gold will not simply turn it in cuz guv'ment sez so.
Also, you don't "buy" and "sell" gold. Gold is a currency recognized by central banks. "Buying" gold is trading one currency for another. Legal tender laws in the US already make transaction using gold/silver illegal, so there's not much else they can do without total descent into dictatorship.
@LordDyhalto If you are assuming two different types of confiscation, then you can't make a comparison.
And of course you buy and sell gold, just like you can buy and sell any asset or any currency. The govt could prevent precious metals dealers from buying gold. Your only outlet to sell would be the govt or the black market, and the latter would carry enough risk that the value of gold could drop down to less than what the govt will pay for it.
@LordDyhalto Btw, I apologize if my tone towards you was a little harsher than it needed to be. I just don't think you understand this issue that well, but that's not a big deal.
I was probably too annoyed because Morgan is one of the few thoughtful guys in this business, along with Eric King, Marc Faber, and so forth. Chapman is not on the same level. I never saw the email that SGTBull is referring to, so I can't comment on it. I know Morgan's work through subscribing.
I subscribe to Morgan's newsletter, and I don't recall him ever making a strong prediction that the govt would confiscate silver. He talks about a lot of possibilities, including extreme SHTF scenarios so his subscribers will be safe.
Morgan knows about 100x as much about silver and the silver market as Chapman. I would suggest that anyone compare the depth of Morgan's writing vs that of Chapman. Or compare Chapman to Marc Faber, Jim Rickards, or other nuanced thinkers.
S You have a God given talent and a lot of friends on You Tube for sure.
I have learned that this information is powerful and needs to be digested slowly. It's hard to tell someone here, this is whats going on and think they are off and running with the truth. It's not that way.
What you are doing is planting the seed of knowledge and over time hopefully it will take root.
Remain vigilant in your pursuit of exposing the truth you have a talent everyone can relate to. God speed my friend
LOL!!! Somebody does not like David Morgan the trained engineer!! SGT, maybe you should interview both Morgan and Chapman simultaneously and let the chips fall where they may. Too funny.
You mentioned a case for confiscation? How about the fact that each tomahawk missile requires 15kg of silver x 163 missiles fired in Libya (which by the way is $3.1mil). Dont you think that the government will use it as a case for national security?
I like at 7min that Chapman openly admits: HE does not know and neither do the crooks know. He makes no ridiculous specific predictions. All we know is that in general the dollar will collapse and RELATIVELY soon.
But, yeah - who the hell is he to decide whose training and experience does and does not outrank his? ALL different backgrounds are useful and necessary.
That was a pretty shameful attack on David Morgan based off misinformation. I appreciate the videos you do, but you should really pull this video and either edit or delete it. You're much better than this.
"It's sad when you stop and consider most people are worried about...I not going to buy gold or silver because it's going to get confiscatied, which is a RIDICULOUS argument. I don't buy into it" - David Morgan
@DvsDevise RE: watch?v=wnmqMEE6CLc I see Mike Maloney doing the talking, not David Morgan. He seems to concur, yet I'd rather have out of the horses mouth. Regardless, the guys who have spent decades in the trenches, do understand the markets in a way others cannot. Personally, I was once heavy into for a layman and learned things from a pro that a very experienced day trader would not. Guys like Chapman and Keiser would be some the finest to walk the earth, but we all make mistakes.
@InTheSticks0001 I think my quote from David sums it up. That quote is at the start of the video. Find me one article or video with David Morgan "sounding the alarm on gold and silver confiscation". There isn't one, you wont find one. David is an expert on the silver market and has been for decades. He does not deserve to be discredited, especially not on this channel. He provided his time to SGT for a past interview. I just don't get it.
Dismissing David Morgan as just an engineer is horrible. I'm not a fan of Bob Chapman to begin with, he thinks more of himself than anybody else does of him. He brags and brags about all of his years of "experience" and how much money he's made and how many languages he speaks...blah blah blah, if you took away how much time he spends talking about himself there'd be little to talk about. A lot of what he says never comes true but nobody ever calls him out on it, just like Celente.
SGT I must say that of all the silver/gold channels on Utube, yours is the best. Its concise, informative, and enjoying. a lot of those other channels just 'talk' and love to ramble on. I learn not much. keep up the good job!!!
@Romulan112 thanks much Rom, I REALLY appreciate it! There are a ton of great silver & gold channels out there and many of them inspired me to start this one.
Radioactive isotopes are spilling into the ocean at the failed nuclear facilities in Japan. These isotopes have a half life of millions of years. They will filter throughout the entire food chain in the ocean. When the plankton in the ocean dies it will be the end of civilization. Plankton supplies the earth with 50 percent of its oxygen. Don't worry about Bernake, or the economy. don't worry about the value of the dollar. worry about PLANKTON.
@johnny102marvin I'm not being sarcastic. We are always being painted into a corner by "our fellow man". As Bender said "Ask not for whom the bone bones... it bones for thee".I am old, so, fortunately, will die soon.I lived a relatively good life because there was surplus wealth which was stolen by "Americans" from the Native Americans, and then oil was discovered, and that has produced a massive increase in quality of life for western countries. But all that is about to end.Good luck, youngsters
@johnny102marvin I understand your sentiment, but worrying about plankton should have been done by the generations of people around the world who didn't vociferously object to nuclear power plants being built. The damage is done. People should demand that existing nuke plants be dismantled immediately, but it's too late to worry about the effects of Fukushima. Now, people have to protect themselves from economic collapse, and hope they don't die instead from other consequences of the radiation.
Isn't it AMAZING how much CRAP is going on?? I mean, really........there isn't anything to look forward too anymore. The World is coming to a Goddamn end.
You guys are missing my point. We bow down to every overly sensitive puss that says "oh don't say that, it hurts my feelings". I am not saying we should be disrespectful to others HOWEVER we have freedom of speech for a reason. When you limit what someone is allowed to say it's the first step to communism and loss of true freedom. That was one of the primary factors our country WAS so great. Our freedoms are being stripped away one by one. Unethical searches, soon gun control, free speech, tra
@Medic37dan I agree completely with your comment, but they are not stripping away freedoms, they are punishing people for exercising their freedom. Freedom is when you act without caring about the consequences of your actions.
I value the Internet because you can challenge ideas & motives. Whereas, the Wesayso Media Networks talk at & program people through relentless repetition of phrases & ideas. The point of freedom of speech is to make it possible to have a public (community) debate.
I'm with you Bob Chapman! Both my wife and I buy silver bullion through SilverSavers every 2 weeks Period! My "extra fiat dollars" go into silver! Check out my video on SilverSavers!
@7Losses I hear ya, (I have kids and it's on in our house some times too), it's forgivable if you still actually care about your fellow human beings AND own some physical silver... :)
@nocsm STFU. You're one of the reasons this country is in such a bad place. We can't offend anyone with a stupid word, phrase, or anything. If you don't like it don't watch his channel! If you can't take it, move the F out of the USA and take all the other easily offended pieces of crap with you.
@Medic37dan said "If you can't take it, move the F out of the USA"
I agree that "Political Correctness" has been getting ridiculously absurd for over 40 years, but when someone says that the solution to any problem is "USA, love it or leave it", then they've immediately lost the debate among rational, reasonable people. As an example, "If Medic37dan doesn't like the way people talk in, or about, this country, then he can just GTFO of the USA" Get the point?
@MrDorkusMaximus And if he think that moving to somewhwere like Australia or NZ is going to make the grass greener its just as PC mad down here speically in Aussie. Infact its F@#King out of control. PC = Slave Training.
@Medic37dan Being concerned about the perception of people is a reason why the country is a place? Come on...really! No, responses like yours is a contributing factor to the US....the world being in a bad place. You should challenge ideas, not people. My response had nothing to do with offending people. My comment was about treating every human being with respect and dignity. Your reaction is a contributing factor as to why the globalist can pin us against each other. Take care and peace Medic.
Why does bob chapman have to big-up himself all the time and slate all others as non Market people? I would have more respect for him if he just presented his thoughts.
Bernanke Has SO Much faith in the U.S. Dollar , that He Invested Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars , of His Own Money , Buying Canadian Bonds. Smell The Coffee Yet ?
SGTbull07 must you say the PIIGS? It is very off-color way of using the acronym. Would you say, "The Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, and Spain?". It is like using the term 'third world country' to describe poor countries with black and brown peoples, when in fact it is a term to describe countries that weren't aligned with NATO (1st world) or Communist (2nd world) countries. At any rate, keep up the good work.
@nocsm1 hmm, I never thought of it that way, maybe we need to come up with one for our own blood thristy country filled with couch potatoes. ideas welcome.
@SGTbull07 We can call them CATTLE....Complacent Americans Trying To Lose Everything. I show your microdocs to my college classes. At any rate remember to, "Buy the Metal, Short the Paper!"
@nocsm1 cattle - I like it, we can refer to the troubled Euro countries as PIGS and they can rightly call us CATTLE. Complacent Americans Trying To Lose Everything - thank you sir.
@pepintheshort100 That would be a compliment...they (bankers) are the parasites that live in the pigs (in human elite) that consume all of the garbage.
I agree with Bob I'm guessing and sensationalize from time to time but not so much for subs but because it's fun. Warning people is not my full time job it's a hobby.
@davincij15 What difference does it make whether it's a full time job or a hobby if people still subscribe because of your guessing and sensationalizing? The only difference is one is for monetary gain and the other isn't, or is it? Only the person doing the guessing and sensationalizing really knows the intent behind the act. If you ever advertised or promoted someone or some thing then . . . well . . . I rest my case.
Sorry but i have to disagree with Mr Chapman. Germany loves the situation in EU right now.The P.I.G.S. countries are keeping the value of Euro low so the main exporters of Europe (i.e. Germany and France) have cheep products for the rest of the world to buy.If Germany was to go to mark again they would have to reevaluate the currency sth that would make them more expensive than now.Plus Greece is the No.1 buyer of German weapons the last 10 years.B.t.w. i am greek.
@SpartanMonkee Yes, but that was back in the day when you could walk into a bank and exchange The Feds paper money for gold. That's why they took gold away and made it illegal to own bullion, (until '80's). Since the 1930's, it's been illegal to demand real money in exchange for fake money, (Federal Reserve Notes). I'm not saying the Feds won't pass a law some day which says you have to take your gold to a bank and exchange it for fiat currency, but, IMHO, I'll take that risk vs dollar collapse.
What? I thought this vid. was to recap American Idol..
Who can I sue?NO offense to Bob. But how does he know its a trillion vs. 300 billion? I don't believe the govt either, but all this sky is falling, lets call it X trillion sounds good, but kinda irrelevant. 3.00 Quoting phoenix capital is kinda laughable.I read the ZH article and it gave no real facts or specifics.
@alustoon you can use hotspot shield software, which hides your address and they cant tell what country you live in and can watch every thing, France and UK has fair bit of censoring also
I always look forward to Bob's Friday appearance on Infowars. This is a real treat. BTW, I bought my first silver from Midas Resources and could not have been any happier.
@workwillfreeyou One thousand trillion is equal to one quadrillion. In terms of money, this can't even exist. They play with the money number to set people off to thinking... how much is that? :) You see, how can you be in to debt from money that is backed by nothing? How can you pay back debt that was illegally created in the first place? It's all part of their game and illusion. The very thought of your being a free man makes them cringe. They are pure evil.
Our local bullion dealers are either out of silver or almost out. The last remaining one, which has had ample supply until recently, is running very low. He's relying on the day to day buying and selling to keep somewhat of an inventory. Dealers are also raising their premiums as they feel the squeeze of high demand and low supply.
@MorpheusWasRight They will certainly try to stay in control. They're obviously wanting to use the crisis to introduce a global currency, but they won't be in complete control of the event. If too many people rush for the exits - meaning they dump all their dollars and they won't trust ANY new paper currency, then there will be a complete hyperinflationary meltdown. That actually may be our best chance to bring real freedom back to this country.
@MorpheusWasRight Quite right , this is a most fascinating period of history to be living in. The funny thing is , most people don't even realise its happening but they can tell you the contestants in pop idol.

Yes.
bearcat648 11 months ago
@bearcat648
LordDyhalto 11 months ago
@LordDyhalto If you are assuming two different types of confiscation, then you can't make a comparison.
And of course you buy and sell gold, just like you can buy and sell any asset or any currency. The govt could prevent precious metals dealers from buying gold. Your only outlet to sell would be the govt or the black market, and the latter would carry enough risk that the value of gold could drop down to less than what the govt will pay for it.
bearcat648 11 months ago
@LordDyhalto Btw, I apologize if my tone towards you was a little harsher than it needed to be. I just don't think you understand this issue that well, but that's not a big deal.
I was probably too annoyed because Morgan is one of the few thoughtful guys in this business, along with Eric King, Marc Faber, and so forth. Chapman is not on the same level. I never saw the email that SGTBull is referring to, so I can't comment on it. I know Morgan's work through subscribing.
bearcat648 11 months ago
I subscribe to Morgan's newsletter, and I don't recall him ever making a strong prediction that the govt would confiscate silver. He talks about a lot of possibilities, including extreme SHTF scenarios so his subscribers will be safe.
Morgan knows about 100x as much about silver and the silver market as Chapman. I would suggest that anyone compare the depth of Morgan's writing vs that of Chapman. Or compare Chapman to Marc Faber, Jim Rickards, or other nuanced thinkers.

DvsDevise 11 months ago
@DvsDevise RE: watch?v=wnmqMEE6CLc I see Mike Maloney doing the talking, not David Morgan. He seems to concur, yet I'd rather have out of the horses mouth. Regardless, the guys who have spent decades in the trenches, do understand the markets in a way others cannot. Personally, I was once heavy into for a layman and learned things from a pro that a very experienced day trader would not. Guys like Chapman and Keiser would be some the finest to walk the earth, but we all make mistakes.
InTheSticks0001 11 months ago

Don't worry about Bernake, or the economy. don't worry about the value of the dollar. worry about PLANKTON.
johnny102marvin 11 months ago
@johnny102marvin I'm not being sarcastic. We are always being painted into a corner by "our fellow man". As Bender said "Ask not for whom the bone bones... it bones for thee".I am old, so, fortunately, will die soon.I lived a relatively good life because there was surplus wealth which was stolen by "Americans" from the Native Americans, and then oil was discovered, and that has produced a massive increase in quality of life for western countries. But all that is about to end.Good luck, youngsters
MrDorkusMaximus 11 months ago
@johnny102marvin I understand your sentiment, but worrying about plankton should have been done by the generations of people around the world who didn't vociferously object to nuclear power plants being built. The damage is done. People should demand that existing nuke plants be dismantled immediately, but it's too late to worry about the effects of Fukushima. Now, people have to protect themselves from economic collapse, and hope they don't die instead from other consequences of the radiation.

I value the Internet because you can challenge ideas & motives. Whereas, the Wesayso Media Networks talk at & program people through relentless repetition of phrases & ideas. The point of freedom of speech is to make it possible to have a public (community) debate.

Medic37dan 11 months ago
@Medic37dan said "If you can't take it, move the F out of the USA"
I agree that "Political Correctness" has been getting ridiculously absurd for over 40 years, but when someone says that the solution to any problem is "USA, love it or leave it", then they've immediately lost the debate among rational, reasonable people. As an example, "If Medic37dan doesn't like the way people talk in, or about, this country, then he can just GTFO of the USA" Get the point?

My comment was about treating every human being with respect and dignity. Your reaction is a contributing factor as to why the globalist can pin us against each other. Take care and peace Medic.

Sorry but i have to disagree with Mr Chapman. Germany loves the situation in EU right now.The P.I.G.S. countries are keeping the value of Euro low so the main exporters of Europe (i.e. Germany and France) have cheep products for the rest of the world to buy.If Germany was to go to mark again they would have to reevaluate the currency sth that would make them more expensive than now.Plus Greece is the No.1 buyer of German weapons the last 10 years.B.t.w. i am greek.

The gov't wouldn't confiscate gold or silver? Gee, didn't they do that already in the past???
SpartanMonkee 11 months ago
@SpartanMonkee Yes, but that was back in the day when you could walk into a bank and exchange The Feds paper money for gold. That's why they took gold away and made it illegal to own bullion, (until '80's). Since the 1930's, it's been illegal to demand real money in exchange for fake money, (Federal Reserve Notes). I'm not saying the Feds won't pass a law some day which says you have to take your gold to a bank and exchange it for fiat currency, but, IMHO, I'll take that risk vs dollar collapse.

How can you pay back debt that was illegally created in the first place? It's all part of their game and illusion. The very thought of your being a free man makes them cringe. They are pure evil.

If too many people rush for the exits - meaning they dump all their dollars and they won't trust ANY new paper currency, then there will be a complete hyperinflationary meltdown. That actually may be our best chance to bring real freedom back to this country.
