i honnestly think they're better off with loomis alone, im a musician my self and i play gtr drums bass piano and i sing, seeing as i play bass this is what we do for recording, when i go off for myy solos, i rewired ( with a shit ton of help ) the bass amp so i could give it alot more bass to kik in more bass in the rythym and cause i rewired the amp i used a distortion pedal and an octave pedal ( 1 octave up ) and made it sound like a gtr and a bass at the same time 4 under solos!

As much as I'd like to see another guitarist there alongside Jeff, I'm betting the reason that they took a while before getting active again since Chris left for Megadeth is that they might have decided that the constant 2nd guitarist spot that keeps changing wasn't worth the hassle. I hope not though. =(
