Hi, would you happen to know if a 65-watt power adapter supports a DV7-2170us? In hp's website it says it doesn't, and the product info page of my notebook says it ships with a 90-watt adapter, but upon removing the battery of my notebook, it says INPUT: 18.5V, 3.5A (which is a 65-watt) or 19V, 4.74A (90-watt).
Do you happen to have any Toshiba power supplies? Because I think I bought a fake Toshiba one from (believe it or not) a 'licensed' Toshiba manufacturing shop in San Francisco, California not too long ago.
I'm low on cash and shipping rates are insane on the internet so I'm just trying to repair this fake crap the best I can. The wire became instantly frayed after a week of using and that's because its gotten so hot around the connector that it's completely melted away the rubber (?) covering.
Hi. What model is it? Let me know the volts and amps and Toshiba part number. If I have a lot of the type you need, I'll just do a public service and get you one below cost. I can ship it to San Fran for 4 bucks. Maybe I can get you out at about twelve bucks total. I'll take a loss just to save a house from burning down@. Let me know which one you need. JR
@tubitician Well, I'm not in San Fran anymore. I'm actually in Atlanta now, by I have a Toshiba Satellite A210 and AC adapter I have says 100V-240V 1.5A 19V.
I doubt that's right, but in any case it gets extremely hot... I placed a thermometer on the block and it's honestly getting at 210F (omg). I mean... I could probably pack cookies on the thing it gets soooooo hot.
To those who are looking for a new laptop charger: DO NOT BUY the counterfeits.
