I really like Jack White, and I get that he was trying to bring something new to the song, but I think the dark, quiet, brooding approach of the original suited the lyrics much better.

The things I like...I am digging the beat and I love his ending.

The things I don't like...Jack's voice and guitar playing sound like nails coming down a chalk board. Maybe he intended that effect to replicate the the desire of the song but to me, it just doesn't work.
