I've seen a lot of legendary conference final performances before and I never saw someone score 48 points on 15 shots, not even Jordan. Not only was Dirk extraordinarily efficient, he was doing it while hitting an array of fade away jumpers over a good defender in Ibaka. Everyone else in the league would have needed 25-30 shots to get 48 points... not Dirk. Easily the MVP and best player of the playoffs... there's nothing anyone can do to stop him form scoring.

He's done pretty much everything (except NBA title), to secure a place in the HOF.

I want a running team again, like in 2003, only Kidd instead of Nash at PG...I feel we got cheated out of that championship by the Dirk injury, the refs and Steve Kerr.
I hope to god that Carlisle decides to play the run-and-gun. Our guys already know how to play defense. I feel we can win a championship.

He hit the gamewinner in Game 2 against Phoenix.
He hit the game-tying three in Game 3 against Memphis.
He made a game-tying and-one in Game 7 against San Antonio.
He hit the go-ahead fadeaway in Game 5 overtime against Miami (as well as a game-tying assist).
The dreaded free throw in Game 3 against Miami is the only example I can think of where he fell short. He hit a ton of clutch free throws that year.

Regardless of what will be said of him, there is no doubt that Dirk has place among the NBA's All-Time Greats. His number 41 will be proudly retired, he will be proudly enshrined in the Hall of Fame, and his name alone will forever attain iconic status in the sport. Dirk Nowitzki is the name.

This reminds of Charlotte Hornets vs Chicago Bulls 96-97 season. When Mugsy hit the three to tie the game, no timeout was called. Jordan got the ball and hit a two point shot to break the tie at the buzzer :)

DIRK has already earned his place in NBA HISTORY! Title or No Title, shame though about 2006. Love him, Hate him, Appreciate him while he's still around. Duncan is a dickwad...he got four rings because of the refs, because of his solid coach, because of Stern, and because he always had solid help...two of them he had with hall of famer, Robinson.
Dirk is the best. We got cheated in 03 by San Antonio and Dirk's Injury and Steve Kerr, in 05 by Nash's lucky three, and 06 by Wade's blowjob affair with the refs. Also in 07 Avery had us expend too much injury on the regular season. 08, bad trade that made us worse

I can understand promoting a great player, but do you really have to cuss out Duncan? The vast majority of people agree that he is the greatest PF to ever play the game.

Yes.
There were three games scheduled that day, but they really screwed up the broadcast, scheduling the Oakland game early so they could show Lakers/Clippers game late (puke). Fortunately, TNT switched over to this game after DEN/GSW just in time to see the deciding play.

I want a running team again, like in 2003, only Kidd instead of Nash at PG...I feel we got cheated out of that championship by the Dirk injury, the refs and Steve Kerr.
I hope to god that Carlisle decides to play the run-and-gun. Our guys already know how to play defense. I feel we can win a championship.
Also, as another personal request..I want Mark Followill replaced as our lead play-by-play announcer. He's so goddamn boring.

I completely agree with you. I hope we do play the run-and-gun. Speaking about being cheated, we got robbed in 2006. And another thing, I don't understand why Josh Howard can't put up 30+ points in a game with Dirk Nowitzki at the same time. I hope we do something in the offseason, such as acquiring Shawn Marion. And to be honest, right now I'm not liking what Mark Cuban is doing. Don't get me wrong, hes a great guy, but not the best GM.

Carlisle will be a good fit for the mavs. He trying to get dirk to post up more like a larry bird. I believe the team will be better organized than the past two years. My only concern is can all of the players have the right attitude and be consistent.
