@mortician1974 Just curious but how do you find it offensive? It seems the singer is talking about Jesus' invitation for life. It's an offer. not a demand. That's what it sounds like to me at least.

@InuRyutheDiegron My experience of Xianity is that we are all evil pieces of trash deserving of eternal torture. Jesus inviting me for forgivness or whatever is by implication a statement that I am in need of forgivness(born evil no less).Its offensive. Its also child abuse to teach kids that by nature they are inherently flawed,evil and deserving of being lit on fire to suffer forever and ever amen.

@InuRyutheDiegron I had to read your reply a few times to be sure of what your asking. It's still cloudy however. Yes crimes(I don't equate breaking a law with "sin") should be addressed. But you said "Do wrong" implying that right and wrong are concepts everyone agrees upon. Would you give someone a bible in a country in which that sort of thing is illegal? Would it be right or wrong? Understand my answers come from someone that doesn't subscribe to the concept of flawed inherent human nature

You said that Jesus' invitation for forgiveness was implication that you needed forgiveness. i believe that yes humans are naturally flawed. But no I don't believe we are "evil and deserving of being lit on fire to suffer forever and ever" because if we where I don't believe Jesus would want to save us. On the last part of your first response I agree with you. It is child abuse to tell children that which is exactly why we don't.

@InuRyutheDiegron Your reply is a perfect example of "Christianity" not being one, single, disernable thing. You/we read the scriptures and take our best guess/interpretation. Thus 30,000something denominations. Which parts(of holy texts) are literal and which symbolic? How does one know? Do we need a Priest to tell us? These questions are not new. Do you not subscribe to the concept of a literal lake of fire in which the condemned suffer agony unceasingly?
