This was the first groove I had ever heard from Navarro back in '97 and I've been totally hooked. The expression in this "live" version in the last few minutes still grabs at my core. Few artists have that capacity. Beautiful...

I've read that his roots are italian but i can assure that Navarro is a spanish surname, many people in Spain have that surname and i have never seen an italian with Navarro as a surname. I am spanish and Ken must have roots from Spain because he is brilliant, i really love his music.

@Forestcut78 Well, Italian and Spanish are VERY close Romance languages. So, I wouldn't really rule out the possibility that "Navarro" could be in both ethnicity. For example, "Cowen" has the same root as "Cohen", but the former is usually borne by Irish while the latter is borne by "Germans" or even "Britons".

This crap that these kids put out today is helping to ruin world. Sometimes I forget to take my cds to work and I can't even play the radio in my office without being afraid the dj will play some mess by some hip hop/pop artist who uses bad effin' language. We need to really get behind this American thang called jazz and run those lil' rude hip hop bastards out of the country. I have never in my life hated something as much as I hate that hip hop/rap mess!!!

Sorry pops, I'm sixteen and I do enjoy jazz, but this sounds like adult alternative shlock to me. I do agree with you that the general state of mainstream is dire, but we have to except that people enjoy it. Who are we to say that they would gain more to listening to classical and jazz then "hip hop/rap mess"? We will always have our music and they will always have theirs. as a wise Alan Thicke once penned: What might be right for you may not be right for some.

@joceeco Ya really! The music industry, and the young generation now don't understand what "Real" music is. It is quite a shame! It makes me real sad. I'm 28, so I was growing up in the 90s during the "transition" from real to crap in the music industry. Glad I was able to see past all that sh*t!

This is the title track to the the first Ken Navarro CD that I ever bought back in the day . I was hooked after that. It has at least five brilliant tracks on it. The cover of Sade's "Kiss of Life" is so smooth it glides into your ears. A brilliant guitarist!
