I think that many many thousands will agree that Solar Angels should be a feature on their Farewell tour!! if i had 3 wishes given..this song would be one of those wishes to be played on their tour! \m/ \m/
fuck yeah i dont understand why it isnt a staple of their setlist, its a slower but still rocking number. i would have traded it for angel on their current tour in a heartbeat. someone in the band musnt like playing it
The afformentioned 1981 San Diego show was at Open air theater SDSU & Big John Rendon was the leader of the break that fence brigade. There has never been a more thundering show at Open Air since. The school must have implemented noise level restrictions after that show & JP never played there again 27 years gone & they`re still puting out excellent metal got to see them at US Fest as well. I miss those days & the beer prices when a Six pack of Mickey pull tabs was about 2 dollars, Ticket 12 dol
Gotta agree with you. That show and Pat Travers Band were the two best I ever saw there. SRV was great at one of his shows there, but that is a different genre. Lots of good shows...but I remember the intensity of that night and them opening with this song with the lifts behind the Marshalls. A defining moment for metal in my book.
I remember there was a riot at the San Diego show on the POE tour. When they opened with this song a bunch of people rushed a wire mesh fence and it came down and they all ran into the show. Great show though. Except Halford pinched my ass that night after the show which was a little disconcerting.
Sadly, it sounds awfully, but the performance is captivating ... Thank you very much for this post. Seeing Priest on Tour in 2004 is certainly the best thing I did in my fuckin' life !!! Except good sex for sure ...
I wouldn't call Solar Angels a Priest song that's defined by the high notes. He pulled it off fine I thought. I didn't know they played that one on any shows of their reunion tour.
i dont know why, but when i listen to solar angels, i feel...nostalgic or something. It brings me back memories i dont really have and its kinda strange. But i love this song
Btw priest is the best band and point of entry is a (underrated) fabulous album
I think I know what you mean. I feel similar about the song. And I like the whole album, because "Point of Entry" is just so..., well, I can't really put my finger on it. Ethereal? Nostalgic? Otherworldly? Familiar? Dreamlike? Timeless? Fluent, most definitely. Anyway, interesting to read that somebody else feels the way I do about it.
nowhere, no one shot it to the best of my knowledge.
I only taped this, desert plains, painkiller, and a bit of other songs.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Halford doesn't move much and looks like some scary biker gay dude but thank god the voice is there and he hasn't gotten AIDS..

Opening song back on the Point of Entry tour. It's almost not worth playing unless Rob is going to hit those notes (they define the song).
