@EcstasyW Can you be certain ? do you never rub your nose for other reasons, like itching, sneezing, etc. Don't present your hypothesis as the truth. Truth is you don't know. You are interpreting.
you are fucking moron. may be he just rubed his nose? you should check out some Eckman books about signs of telling lies. you can't tell that he's telling lies based only on rubbing of nose. shit, this is much deeper and more complicated!
This guy does not appear to be so honest himself. Arrogance is not a fruit of honesty. Because if you are truly honest, you will be realistic and not consider yourself better than others. I mean, the point of honesty is recognizing the truth. The truth is we all make mistakes and have moments that make us feel like idiots. If you are honest, you will not be able to push that aside and act all high and mighty.
@OperaNotes Exactly, he seems to be talking about being honest with others but doesn't at all seem to be honest with himself in the least bit. I think his book would make more sense if it had something to do with being honest with yourself, that is probably much more powerful, and actually would change the world for the greater.
Radical honesty is great, yes, but Brad Blanton is clearly not honest enough, if he believes in God. Reality, as a whole, may not be subject to our current human intelligibility, but there's a God? How do you know? How could that be? Be honest. You should then see that to believe that anything supernatural actually exists is irrational and dishonest.
where do we come from, why, what is the source of life. People personalize god, but god stands for that wich trancends human thought, god can not be measured empirically. If you study all the religions and myths you conclud this.
Furthermore, recently scientists found out that everything is not what it seems, matter isn't matter, it's energy, this mystical energy is all that is on fundamentical level. Out of this you might say thats god, the mystery
Something that cannot be identified as part of the causal chain cannot exist. Mysticism is irrational. Knowledge can only be of this reality. Anything outside this reality does not exist and we cannot have knowledge of it.
don't get offended if i mis-interpreted your words but is it like saying there is no human race, no homossexual, no gender, no leftist, democratic, fundie, autistic or any other difference ... there is only the human race ???
I empathize with that. I don't like racists. Specially those who try to make a Science out of Racism. And i don't like many of those other things as well. But racism is the one that pisses me off the most. It's more usual.
Wow! Is it ipossible to discuss the ideas put forth in the book instead of juvenille name calling? I'll give it a try. Telling the truth is hard, especially at first. But it gets easier. Lying is harder and ultimately takes more work. To be able to tell the truth, you have to get comfortable with other people's discomfort. We only have control - or maybe the option to control - our self. BTW, don't think Brad is advising to walk down the street telling strangers what you think of them
I'm not ready to listen yet? HA! I listen to everything I hear. I take in everything I can get, and this is a cult. A terribly unpleasant cult of trolls. If you call somebody fat, they will be angry. And rightly so. It pays to hold one's tongue at times. It's an important part of society. All I'm giving you is the truth. I would normally hold back on certain phrases and statements, but if you can dish it, you can take it.
Here's what I honestly think: He looks like a slightly wider version of Bill Clinton, he's totally crazy, very repetitive, annoying, stupid, arrogant, self-righteous, and difficult to take seriously.
Also, save the world? HA!!!! You've got to be kidding me! Without lies, we have total angered anarchy! People are not good at forgiving. It's a fact of life.
People don't forgive so easily, because they don't have an easy tool for doing so. I've practiced this. It's a pretty good tool!
You're making a this-would-happen statement from a point of all theory and no experience. If you try it and it doesn't work, knock it all you want. But until you do, you don't know what the hell your talking about!
No, I wouldn't call it a theory. I'd call it a hypothesis. I admit I have no evidence. Also, I just did try it. My comment was an experiment. It proved successful. You certainly seem angry. I told you nothing but what I truly thought, and I received "don't know what the hell you're talking about" as a reply. Thank you for supporting my hypothesis. A world of radical honesty is a world of trolls.
So it was an experiment! Good! Let's see it through. Sure, it doesn't work to do drive-by telling-offs. RH is about staying with it, until your over it. That can work. And does! We have judgments. There just judgments. "Trolldom" aint so bad! Trolls forgive pretty easily. So let's hang in there and see where this goes. Forgiveness and learning. I had a little anger. Gone now. I still have the judgment of your makign this a right-wrong debate. I hope to get over that too!
It's obvious you don't see much of the internet. A troll is someone who acts like a jerk. They never forgive. They're the ones in need of forgiveness. They rarely, if ever, get it. I'm going to continue trying this Radical Honesty thing here, even if it makes me feel like a troll.
I think I should also point out, therefore, that you seem to have terrible difficulty separating "you're" from "your." I also have trouble believing, even if you're being totally honest with me, that you're honest with yourself.
@DiogenesLite@JorickHorn perhaps the point is that now you have a more intimate relationship because the conversation was tied to an emotion. Before 'anger' and 'forgiveness' it was less so.
Yes, I'm angry, but I'm only angry at you. It's obvious you are an incredibly nasty trollish person. I'm quite sure you have the IQ of a flea, though there are certainly fleas who would argue against that. I would normally not say such things without much more provocation, but considering the subject matter of the video, I think I'm justified. Do you say things like this in proper conversation?
"People are not good at forgiving. It's a fact of life."
NO. FUCK NO. Once again, Your opinion. And that of too many jerks out there. And that doesn't make it fact.
Humans ( what we usually call "people" ) are racional beings. And only by being racional can they live in a society deemed worthy of anything.
PS : Sorry for being rude to you. It's just that your opinion seemed worthy of my attention only to the point I got pissed off with you for calling names to someone you don't personally know.

I saw a book recently written by a woman
about why women lie so much. I didn't buy
the book because it seemed to be so full
of PC language as to be nothing more
than a book of disguised lies about
lying.
