If it wasn't for Quake introducing online multiplayer way back in 1996, then you new school gamers wouldn't have Halo, Counter Strike, Unreal ect.

Quake and Quakeworld paved the way for many, many games to follow. So please, stop bashing its graphics and look at the gameplay.

My motto is, "Graphics don't make a game, gameplay does." Graphics might help, but gameplay is what you buy a game for.

i only got into playing quake multiplayer recently (before that i had completed single 12times) and it is amazing multi player the best multi game i have ever played i thought it was good for multi on n64 but on the pc it is increadble i really like the mod where enimies are included and you get a certain amount of frags depending on how you kill people or monsters ie 10frags for axe murder on player 1frag for axe murder of a rotweiller etc

On the contrary, graphics can severely change how well you can play. For example, if the graphics aren't good enough, you may not be able to tell whether someone is a friend or foe. You might not even see them. Some games aren't that bad, but then some people are spoiled on great graphics and they are psychologically worse than if that game had had better graphics... lol, as much fun as i have with call of duty 4 and counter strike (1.6 that is) i agree 100%. i like fps with all the unrealistic fantasy shit like rocket jumping and running 100 miles an hour at your opponent, dodging 15 rockets just to blow their brains out with some crazy futuristic weapon or hell, just an old fashion shotgun. Kid, this guy would've gotten equally raped in CPMA (Quake 3 mod) or Warsaw, games with more advanced graphics but basically the same gameplay. If you aren't familiar with QW/CPMA/WSW's air control (which VQ3/Q4 lack) you are in for a world of hurt when you take on a seasoned veteran of one of these games.

Not really, he hasn't proven anything at VQ3, the only thing I can remember is his games at CPL Netherlands Qualifications which he missed after losing to if22?(Who's been away from Q3 for like 3 years), and got a pitty invite or something.

And there's alot of VQ3 players in CPM nowadays, Reptile for example. But no 1v1 players I think? But you and I both know if tox and fox put some time on cpm, they'd probably do some real damage. :) they're monsters
