Yea, but as far as i can recall, in the snes version you did not loose the ninja power that fast.

holy crap, there are a LOT of differences between this and the SNES version... first off, the white fog? insta-death if you fell in. Duck zombies? bones blew out when you shot them and the bones homed into Maui. There are others but they're more trivial, but those changes made an impact and made the level harder than the genesis version. Not much harder, but harder none the less

This was one of the hardest levels in the game... Great level though... Left me all UNDEAD! =P

The tower part... I still don't know how I've managed to complete it...

Yeah... the tower part was really hard. But I managed to finish it without dying in order to obtain the password. If I try now (quite 10 years after), maybe I'm unable to finish the 4 levels without dying :P
