I absolutely love this video, despite not much to do with the plane itself it took us through an amazing airport with lots of fancy shops. Really really nice video and I like the guys waving, friendly german people are cool. The good news is that Thai have finally installed PTV on their economy class of their 747s so the next time you fly theres something to look forward to.
WOW! I got to tell you, I was jealous that my friend was going on this exact flight (first ERW- FRA with Lufthansa, then FRA-BKK with Thai), while I was going to meet him in Bangkok 11 hrs later flying with Cathay Pacific (JFK-HKG, then HKG-BKK). I really thought he got a better deal than me. But I see that Thai Airways doesn't even have personal video screens, while Cathay Pacific has state-of-the-art AVOD!!
I'm REALLY lucky I guess. The grass is NOT greener on the other side!
The flights from Germany to BKK and back are old equipment. It's the the most profitable route in the world and if they would offer plasticchairs they would earn money. It's the destination which counts and not the 11 hours in an old plane....
@caprica2008 Yes, i'm agree. I also have been with thai airways 747-400 in Royal silk class they have AVOD. Whether i see in the economy class their don't have that. I think it;s an old livery and they should change with their 777-300 or 777-200ER which they use for the Bangkok-Chiangmai route (In thailand).
@caprica2008 Yes, i'm agree with you. I think lufthansa is better. i also have been to london heathrow with the 747-400 with royal silk class they have AVOD, whether in economy class they doesn't have it. maybe they should change the 747 with the 777-200 or 777-300 or the A340-600 with their have. because, i think europe is the most important road in the world. many people goes there every day.
I use Thai for domestic flights only. Great service but I can not sit more then 6 hours in a plane. I get too nervous if I can not strech my legs for a few hours. So for me it is Qatar or Emirates.
Fantastic video. I am going on a Thai Airways 747-400 in november from London Heathrow to Bangkok but i am actually going from London to Melbourne via Bangkok which involves me going on 747-400 and 777-200ER.
Love Thai Airways!

Great Video ... Thai Airlines is a good airline, but sometimes more expensive than Cathay Pacific etc.
