cool pictures..that was one of the more interesting commuter lines in the new york area with two different railroads running trains on it...and back then you could take pictures of trains in the new york area with getting the attention of the paranoid police and their harassment..
Thanks for sharing these great photos. It reminded me of the days I would take the train from Newark to Long Branch mostly on the PRR. I remember the PRR would change engines at South Amboy and run steam down to Bay Head.
Harrison, NJ doesn't have a subway. It's a stop for PATH trains only. It parallels the NEC for a few miles until it ducks under the streets at Journal Square
I also have a vhs tape which I will be converting soon to my computer of a train ride on the engine from Bay Head to Belmar and a couple other points back in the early 80's
you got some wonderful pics of those gg1s and i think some f-3s? i wish i could have been the one takeing the pics and seeing all that you seen a nice pice of the psat that no one can ever take away thank you for posting!!!
