when i got my civic (no ABS), first thing my brother made me do was learn my lock limit, or how hard i could slam my brakes without them locking and how to pump my brakes if they did. ABS is really safe and helpful, but i personally think its every drivers responsibility to know their car and how to react in emergencies. I don't have any of these but even when i hydroplaned going only 30 i was able to come out of it safely by knowing my car inside and out =D

That is why most cars have the ability to turn them off. If you are having fun on a track or something then yes they are a bit of a pain. But for general driving everyday they can be a lifesaver. You can't always predict what others on the road will do so worth having them.

diriving experience my ass! when you see a crash in font of you your driver spirit tells you to push the break hard but if you have some driving skills you know you should not brake hard even if you are driving on asphalt and not on ice! with abs you have control on your car no matter how hard you break

as I have a strong car Seat Leon 1.8T 20V without turned on TCS is realy hard to drive it on wet roads so TCS also prevent to get a car in to a skid

In english the right name is Anti-lock Brake System.

The acronym ABS is taken from german "AntiBlockierSystem", but english name has been changed to better descibe the functionality of the system. Anti Blocking System in english could be anything, like for windshield wipers or steering wheel.
