  • 3+ hour series couldn't even BEGIN to scratch the surface, how the hell is a 2 hour movie gonna even be as good as the series was, especially considering how terrible it was in its own right? Especially if their childhood gets updated to the 80's as I have heard supposedly might happen. It will be a clusterfuck, quote me on that.

  • this part sared the crap out of me

  • Was the novel that graphic? they put everything else in movies, i dont see why they wouldnt remake it exact to the book? Tim Curry must play it again...if not then who??? no one qorthy enough :/

  • @XoXHelloMissKittyXoX It is BEYOND graphic. It's lost of sex and seriously gruesome scenes in that book.

  • @XoXHelloMissKittyXoX the kids fuck in the novel except for that there's nothing more graphic than your usual horror fair.

  • it can't be done in two hours end of, the mini series had the right angle regardless of it's mangling of the storie's time line/structure, hopefully this time they can make the sewers look more menacing and avoid the cliche of overlighting the set and pretending it's dark.

  • @09nob Two-parters are all the rave nowadays. I'd watch an 'IT' two-parter more than Breaking Dawn.

  • @themags I concur

  • I think I found the guys channel who is writing the script for the theater release, his name is Dave Kajganich. He has like a marketing channel. Just type in his name. If he is the guy writing the script, ask him why the f**k he isn't posting anything new, its been over 2 years and theres no news on whether it will or will not be made. He's like f*cking hiding or something.

  • No one will play penny wise like tim curry

  • I love how in IT, instead of in some fictions where the monster eats like a soul or magically absorbs the victims, Pennywise just fucking cannibalizes the poor kid right there on the street.

    Fuck logic, we have Clowns.

  • Thumbs up if you hated clowns BEFORE seeing It

  • @ameerzakee730713105 Yeah I hate clowns since my fitfh birthday party, that bastard humiliated me lol

  • @4feelfear What did he do a bad trick?

  • Far out im Gonna Be Dissapointed if they Dont use much of His Clown Form.....Thats the Best part of it

  • if its way more scary imma watch it cuz i fuckin love scary shit but the original looked scary but it turned out not to be scary

  • I think they should split the movie should be split into two parts or be 5 hours long that way you can get more in the movie.

  • I'm now way convinced that 2 hours is enough to do IT justice... as everyone is saying, they left out so much in the original, even though it was a reasonable adaptation. The book is kinda split in 2 parts, it should be 2 movies - one when they are kids, hanging out in the barrens, and one when they are adults. At least then we might get the mad bird, gas works, IT's back story, smoke hut, pet killing wanker... All the stuff that made the book so epic.

  • I hated clowns until Stephen King's it.

  • Stephen King is one of my favorite writers. I loved IT, really hope the remake won't be too bad, as most remakes are.. The originals are always better. Never really get scared, but Penny wise. You, sir. Will forever scare the living hell out of me, and I thank you. <3

  • THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I HATED CLOWNS SINCE I WAS LITTLE!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn right it wasn't accurate to the book! I only watched that movie to see that chick sex it up with the other kids! FUCK! But nah, it was a good movie :P Tim curry is such a good actor :)

  • I think it be more interesting to have a movie from Mike Hanlon's point of view. Following him while he does all the research into Penny Wise and how he terrorized/ mutilated kids although from the very beginning when Derry had the logging community.

  • I thought the movie was pretty good for a tv movie. Totally agree that Tim Curry SHOULD return as "IT"! He's a great actor and plays AWESOME villians! Sadly, I haven't read the book, but I did see a basic review on wikipedia. Not surprised they didn't show some scenes on tv. 2 perfect examples deal with sex: 1 the girl in the group has sex with all the guys in the group to "strengthen" the group and 2. there's gay sexuality involved with the human bullies/villians).

  • so its for sure coming out and one more thing what month and day is it going to be released

  • @thevideogamenut The rumors I heard were for sometime in 2012 or 2013.

  • i dont see why they are gonna butcher the book into 2 hours when three couldnt even do it justice. best thing they could really do is create it into a 2-3 part movie if they really dont want to make it over 3 hours long. the book has enough material to do so.

  • hope they wil make it remake but make the clown scary more.

  • YEAH MAKE THE REMAKE OF IT THE CLOWN AGAIN BUT MORE SCARY CLOWN WIL BE COOL.

  • AS long asCurry reprises his role as Pennywise I will watch this remake

  • @Vampericlegends me to

  • @Vampericlegends very, unlikely, google search what he looks like now.

  • @Piibbish makeup can fix most things. besides look what happened with the new Freddy Krueger...we need Curry as Pennywise

  • @Vampericlegends he's dead. isnt he?

  • @HowBoutThatBlowJob dont even joke about that....Tim Curry will never die!

  • @Vampericlegends im right there with ya

  • @Vampericlegends i doubt he would i mean tim curry is 65 i wish he would coz no one could ever play that damn clown better or scarier but i dont think he will

  • they should make the movie a miniseries again cuz they did that to all remakes they had part 2 in harry potter!! this should be in 6 parts......who would watch them all in theater?

  • Hopelijk maken ze die film volgend jaar ofzo. Het wordt hoog tijd voor een betere verfilming!!

  • No news so far.. Will make some calls soon

  • @Passie86 Good luck! I hope you will be able to get some info. The story is too big for one movie only. I also prefer a mini-series or a couple of movies, because there is so much going on in the book and will never fit into 90 minutes.

  • So any news???? It is supposed to be release this year, right?

  • I think the remake should come out....... tomorrow.

  • When exactly did Warner Bros say when it was going to be released?

  • @Sbroncs152009 2011,BUT IT PROBABLY WILL COME OUT IN OCT 2013 THAT'S THE OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE FOR A BUNCH OF ANOTHER WARNER BROS COMIC BOOK MOVIES AND REMADE MOVIES SO IT WILL MOST LIKELY CORRELATE IN AND AROUND THAT TIME.

  • the reason why "so much was left out" of the TV miniseries was not because of time constraints, but because of content not suitable for TV. The theatrical remake will fail in the same way, because theres alot in the book that even an R rated film would not be able to include. Still, the 1990 movie is excellent because it works well within its own context, being an adaptation of a pretty nasty novel that is terrifying despite the challenge of being fairly sanitized.

  • @NotNamedJones yes, like in the book the boys had sex with the girl, but they were underage, soooo yea :/

  • @NotNamedJones

What are you talking about? Stuff in the novel that is above R rated material? You mean the stupid "sex" scene in the sewers among the Losers Club? That scene was uncalled for, even in the book!

  • @compsciguy actually, I was thinking more about the beginning of the book, where the catalyst for the IT cycle in the 80s begins with a gay man being beaten by thugs. I was also thinking about the exploits of the psychopath of that character Patrick Hocksetter, who was untouched on in the film, who murders his infant brother and tries to beat off Henry Bowers, among other things. Or the syphillatic bum that chases Eddie, offering him a blowjob, or, just the generally cruel murder of children.

  • People who complain about a movie on the grounds that it wasn't like the book it was based on don't know anything about what makes a good movie, and there have been plenty of good horror movies that weren't rated "R." An "R" rating probably means the studio will be pushing for more gore just to satisfy ghoulish freaks who equate horror to graphic violence.

  • its true form is a spider, right? If they do make a remake, they should replace the f*cking dog-head scene with a tarantula-head. and when it shows its true form, how about an ACTUAL SPIDER.

  • well the problem is you can't a 1000 page book in a mini series thats one 2-sided disk long

  • Bring on the CLOWN!!!!!

  • I have watched the original and think it was time for an update.

  • seee this movie made me scared of clowns

  • Still no updates on this movie?

  • Yeah I would rather have more of the clown then any of his other forms

  • Comment removed

  • People have a longer attention span for movies than they used to. While I would love to see a 6 hour movie like "The Stand", I realize that that simply won't happen. Still, I think they could do so much more with 3 hours than they could with 2. If this movie is under 2 hours, it's going to feel hollow and disappointing, no matter how scary the clown scenes may be.

  • Your accent is fucking ORSHUM! No, really, its cool.

  • They couldn't possibly remake this without Tim Curry. That would be a sacrilege. I actually liked the TV movie and watched it countless times. I thought the book was way too long. I think Stephen King is a great storyteller, but I personally don't like his writing style.

  • Less of the clown? Man I thought the clown was awesome in the movie. Who cares about his other forms...

  • is this movie ever going to come out

  • @edwardd6681 Think of it this way. Paperback copies of "The Stand" in 1980 had on the cover "Soon to be a major motion picture directed by George Romero." "The Stand" TV miniseries didn't come on until 1993, 13 years later.

  • @VonWenk

    directed by Mick Garris!

  • @compsciguy And arguably Garris' best work.

  • IN THAT SCENE THE CLOWN KEEPS LOOKING TO THE RIGHT

  • that sucks all of those movies will be out of date now u have to get blu ray.

  • I love the movie and the book

  • that introduction is WAY too loud.

  • The IMDb site says it is categorized as 'in development', the data is subject to change. The date mentioned is 2011, allthough it would suprise me if it will be released in the coming months. I don't know if one of you had contact with WB recently? Maybe they are ready to tell some more about the project. @Passie86: Thanks for the info!

  • Are you dutch?

    Zo ja intresant filmpje.

  • @Roelade1337 Ja :D thanks nog steeds geen nieuws :(

  • @TheDifferentReview Ik ben bang dat het nog ff gaat duren en dat het dan alsnog een slechte film wordt.

  • I hopr its "scarier" cause it wasn't even scary at all D: And yes it did piss me off that it was nothing like the book D:<

  • does anybody know when the actually movie will come out

  • I don't think Tim Curry should be used again. Too much yelling, too little dark, senseless giggling

  • I hope that they dont take TOO much of the clown out of the movie, because that was the main reason so many people were freaked out by this movie and why it got so popular. Hopefully theyll get to show a fairly good amount of the clown but just enough so theyll have alot of space for the other forms the demon / evil spirit has.

  • is robert grey from IT the same mr grey from dreamcatcher?

  • @TheThroney

I didn't know the clown's real name was robert grey. I remember the first name being Bob, which is short for Robert, but I remember the last name being something else.

  • hahaha "which i think sucked"

  • If they do a remake they should get my first wife to play the clown.

  • With a few exceptions, King's books are really difficult to put on screen accurately. What King can make scary by his genius with words just does not come across as believable on screen. Don't ask me how. Just goes to show that the writ on page cannot be replaced.

  • On one side it would have been fun to see a more accurate film/tv-series version of it, that was truer to the book.

On the other hand, no one will ever be as scary as Tim Curry as Pennywise. He makes the original tv-series scary, even if the rest of it is bad.

  • Warner Bros, Should do what they did with the final Harry Potter and Twilight book and break it up in to two movies. Two 2 and 1/2 hour movies would be great, if they broke it up into three two hour movies, then they'd have a franchise... there is no way they could adapt a 1142 novel in to and 2 hour or under movie and if they plan on doing so they should stop in their tracks. Damn they take one Sookie Stackhouse book and make a d 12 episodes season out of it, thats 12 hours for one book!

  • thanks for this :)

  • Any news recently? I'm getting bord of waiting, been a long time since they announced it.

  • i think they should use the kids from the original and use them as tye grown ups who else thinks the same thing

  • @360kid5k

That won't happen. Jonathan Brandis, who played young Stutterin' Bill, committed suicide several years back. It's sad.

  • @compsciguy does amyone know why?

  • There was a real Clown Killer John Wayne Gacy Jr

  • I honestly think nobody should even think of remaking this story cuz horror today is awful, for example the remake of nightmare on elm street was bad, the friday the 13th remake was awful and the Halloween remake was rob zombie is one of todays few good horror movies, the idea of horror is to freak you out to scare you not to make you jump then its just a thriller, I respected the movie because it was all about mental horror and the book was a masterpiece, I'd hate to see a good story go bad.

  • FOLLOW THE MOON BALLONS SAM ROCKWELL

  • I just finished reading this book today.

Robert (Bob) Gray wasn't a victim, MichaelRay is right.

When Pennywise sent Henry Bowers the switchblade in the mail the return address said Robert Gray.

  • @roley696

why would Pennywise the Clown have a human name like Robert Gray? Was the Robert Gray a real person before, and got corrupted by IT?

  • Wait so is this really happening

  • the scariest thing in IT was eddie's mom

  • Bob gray wasn't a victim of it that was just his alias I believe no mention of that name was made other then by IT

  • The fact that the original movie was 3 hours long & missed out a lot of stuff from the book (which itself was like 1000 pages) makes you wonder how they could do a better job only using a 2 hour movie.

What they should really do is spread it over 2 films lasting 2 - 3 hours, or even a trilogy, that way they would be able to tell the whole story. They could also make it more scary, cos the 1990 film wasnt. Other things from the book include the rock fight, which was quite graphic in the book

  • So far for the remake, as for as the adults are concerned I think that Sean Astin would be good for ben hascom, evangelline lily for beverly marsh, and maybe robert downey jr or david spade for richie tozier

I know it may sound like a cheesy cast, but for some reason I personally think that they could do a good job with those roles (of course not as good as the original though)

  • My opinion is that the originals will always be the best. No matter if the remake is a hit or not.

  • it really sucks that they won't give information on if this is still in the works or not. they should do it, great movie and could be a great remake.

  • you is one big collectionador,i am brazilian my english is bad

  • Im reading the book now and watched the mini series. The mini series left out ALOT. Hopefully the rerelease will show the beautifilly written book.

  • Supposedly they are also planning a movie of The Stand. To me these are books that just can't be done justice in a movie formate. I'd still buy a ticket though.

  • I watched the movie first after hearing about it from my Mom who read the book. So I saw it, and then read the book, then found out that the movie was a butchering of the book. Like Beverly fucked all of them!!! All of them!!!! I think they left a lot out because it was on TV. If it was R Rated, it would be a lot more accurate.

  • @krumske i'm reading the book right now....i just found out they're making a remake...it scared me shitless when i was a little kid but then i watched it again and i didnt even flinched once. i hope they make it better

  • Nothing Beats The Original!!!!!!!

  • I Hate Clowns

  • my name is George, when i was younger everyone called me Georgie, so of course when i seen this movie when i was 5 and shit my pants, i stayed THE HELL away from storm drains and clowns

  • This scared me so badly as a child, but paved my liking for horror and paranormal things. Can't wait to see the remake.

  • idk about anyone else, but I thought it was real bummer he turned out to a spider thing, great for the time of the movie, but really bad now (just saw the first one) his clown form was much scarier and entertaining

  • Heey guys, a little update. No updates whatsoever on this movie. No cast, no shootings locations, no film dates, nothing... i tried to contact WB but they don't want to release any new at this point

  • @Passie86 Do you think it was canceled?

  • @inklasso i think is has been put on hold. Why? I think IT is a high anticipated movie and if done right it could be a big box office hit and one of the best horror storys ever. Warner Bros probably knows this but simple doesn't want to make the effort. The first IT was a miniserie that lasted over 3 hours. suggested a remake. My hopes now are that they make a longer serie, like the hospital one. That would suit the story.

  • @Passie86 Well in any case I will keep an eye open for it. I do not think it could top the original, but it would still be fun to see.

  • @Passie86 was there also a serial rapist and murderer in the USA who murdered little boys after torturing them... who dressed like clowns. I wonder if some people also dont like clowns because of this story, assuming its true

  • @Passie86 hell screw 3 hours, they should make it 6

  • @Passie86 I heard they started The Dark Tower but cancelled it. Haven't read the series though.

  • @Passie86 i agree, having read the book before seeing the travesty of a movie if this is done right(for the love of god fix the makeup) if thety do this right, it could be epic

  • @inklasso i didnt see it anywhere

  • nice video (although almost a year old now). Do you have any more recent news on this subject? I really enjoyed the old IT films, even to this day they are still terrifying. I really hope that a remake will not ruin the effect the old films had but this happens very often with remakes unfortunately...

  • goddamn!!!! im effin scared of clowns noww!! i will probably scream if i see a damn clown anywhere!! jajajaja :D scary chizz!!

  • dont know if im seeing things but on the pic its hands are like spiders legs but in the film they are normal??

    !!

  • wtf less then 2 hours? the 1st harry potter is like 200 pages and it got about 2 hours and it is a 1000+ page book...

  • NICE INFO!

  • You're crazy if you think Tim Curry is going to be in this again, he barely wanted to do it the first time around.

  • woo-HAH woo-HAH woo-HAH!

I can never take IT seriously because of that!

  • Started reading the book ages back, noticed it was more graphic than the Film! I rented the IT Movie years ago! Was it a mini series? When I saw it , it was more like a film! Not a mini series!

  • I am ssssooooo stoked to hear my favorite horror movie of all time is getting a fresh makeover based on the book this time!!! The book scared the "dead lights" outta me!!!!!!!!

  • IT IS THE REASON I HATED CLOWNS FOR SO MANY YEARS AND HAD NIGHTMARES

  • ahahahaah

  • Thanks for blowing my fucking ears out with that stupid sound at the beginning. Fucking dick-bag.

  • Mini series that big self illuminating spider really "SUCKED" should have beeen penny wise the clown itself in his element baring his nasty teeth and red eyes wuld have been scarier and better once again spider was NAFF!!!! ruined the end of a good series

  • @Bignadim

The spider is in the book, so if you want the movie to go by the book,, stop complaining.

  • Tyvm for sharing :)

  • @krumske Pennywise the Clown's real name was Bob Gray and lived somewehere around 1800 in Derry i guess

  • @Passie86 I thought he cam to the earth in a giant meteor and rested in the ground until people came around and then he started his murders

  • @MichaelRayWegner Yeah your right. Bob Gray was a real person once i guess.. just one of the victims of IT.. but In the book he never uses the clown for like he did in the movie.. Maybe three our four times. The colors of the clownsuit came back in the many forms.. The orange and the silver

  • @MichaelRayWegner

Yeah.....there was a space Turtle who coughed up the Universe, and with the Universe came an Alien Spider? The back story to this tale is confusing nonsense.

  • I won't be aloud to see it (parents) =(. But a year after the remake release, I'll just watch it on youtube.

  • Sweet, first Ive heard of this. Little info is better than none at all.

  • Nederland!!!

  • I was afraid of storm drains after watching this movie.

  • @ShadowCrashed81 haha so was i

  • @ShadowCrashed81 i am afraid of anything that i can't what's in there LOL

  • Yeah, the book and movie are two totally different worlds. In these nights after work, before bed I decided to reread again IT.it's also not a great surprise to see a movie completely different from the previous, starting with Billy's brother, the parties have not even the most terrifying put in the movie, on the other hand they were invented some of them.

  • aww man I like the clown

  • man that book is thick

  • are you dutch? I can hear it xD

  • @hollandia34 ja :p

  • i was terrified of this back wen i was little... just finished watching the movie.. IT FUCKING SUCKES ASS

  • Thanks for this post, bro! I'm a really big fan of this story, in both aspects of a movie and that of the novel. I'm currently reading the book. I'm only on page 394 out of a thousand something, and I can already find a TON of things that were left out of the movie that were very crucial to the understanding of "It", just like you said. I'm looking forward to more videos! =) Good job on this one!

  • @mason3750 Thanks, nice comment you will find more and more crazy things that have been left out in the movie.. Enjoy

  • they never really put enough of the clown in the original movie the story is about childhood freindships and growing up pennywise was a symbol of their childhood fears when they were kids and they used their friendship to beat him then when they grew up they had to go back and overcome their fears once and for all

  • @yohb7

That's basically what the book is about: childhood fears and coming together to conquer them.

  • it would be nice if they did the entire remake from the kids point of view. it was the best part of the original.

  • I watched this movie when I was 6 and had nightmares for four years after that. this movie still freaks me out, but I think that if I ever saw pennywise I'd just kick his trash.

  • oh yea. they float! im gettin so aroused just talking about how much they float georgie!

  • this movie fucked me the fuck up when i was little.

  • when the hell is the trailer for It going to be released the suspense is killing me!!!!!!

  • I've really got high hopes for the remake, i have wanted to see an updated version of this movie for a long time,

I read somewhere that it will be set in present day i.e 2011, is that true?

  • I do agree with you on that the movie was nothing like the book. I love both of them for different reasons. I grew up with the movie so it has a sentimental value to me. Yet, the book is the better of the two. But there's no way they could get it all in, in 2 hours, the original couldn't do it in a little more than 3 hours, how can they?

  • Nice vid. I agree, the miniseries was disappointing if you have read the book. Also, all the adult characters were weak with the exception of John Ritter, who is always a great actor.

I hope the movie will be good, but 2 hours, you've got to be kidding me. When is Hollywood going to go back to making good films instead of just trying to cash in on everything?

    Nice video man. Thumbs up.

  • awsome

  • :) :) :)
