  • Comment removed

  • the bitches LOOVEE that presenter haha

  • Yay! The guy next to Billy Connolly at the likes Motorhead!

  • Billy Connolly is showing the patience of saint, what on earth possesed him to be involved in this nonesence.

  • Bonzo reminds me of my dad.

  • Lol Billy Connolly Good old Glaaaaazgow

  • how much cocaine does it take to have that hi hat going at that speed?!

I read in "when giants walked the earth" (mick wall) that he used to keep and ounce bag between his legs during the set.

after the show the roadies would dismantle his kit carefully over a mat, and the amount of white powder that fell on that mat would be enough for the road crew.

shame really, he fucked himself up with that lifestyle. good story though.

  • @pbstl747 Apples are definitely better than oranges, and bananas are better than coconuts.

  • John Bonham was an instinctively brilliant drummer. His rythms were precise and brilliant. Unfortunately, he was a binge alcoholic. He drunk alot very quickly, which ultimately killed him.

He was a really lovely guy, he loved his family and fans. Let this be a warning to all. Binge drinking is really bad for all concerned. RIP John, we will always love you.

  • @thejureyman..I didnt see your comment haha great minds and all that!

  • I cant believe ya cut off rory gallagher, one of the greatest guitarists of all time, and get this..he was born in the ROCK hospital in ballyswhannon in co Donegal hehehe..he dead now..died back in 19dickity7

  • @shitman678 But I didn't, that's all I have.

  • Wow what an good interview...

  • The guys derriere son dos look to J.Lennon

  • I can`t believe Rory Gallagher was about to get up and play right after the Bonham interview. He is another very talented man.

  • @TheJurneyMan Rory Gallagher and Bonzo , two heavy boozing dead men.

  • @taariqtaariq

So was my grandpa but he was`t nearly as awesome as Rory Gallagher and John Bonham.

  • Bonzo...Always.Eternity.

  • Mr. John Henry Bonham, had the great pleasure and honour to watch him in spring 1980 with LZ in Dortmund/Germany. Thank God for that. This man had his own style playin´ drums, very special and unique.

Nowadays, less people/musicians get their own style. That´s the problem.

  • I couldn't agree more with Patton303 - Bonham was so powerful yet the little things made his drumming legendary. He did more with a single kick pedal than most of these new dudes can do with a double!!

  • RORY and BONZO on the SAME SHOW?!?!! AWESOME!!!!

  • Second best drummer ever !!!??!!?! Fuck Off!!

  • So John, this is 1980 then. Not really.

  • best drummer .

    Thats moby dick!

  • @arnaud44 this is a clip from the song remains the same its a movie they made about a tour of America

  • Ha ha Fuckin' Billy Connolly

  • In the beginning, Harry Potter is there! Check the left!

  • @iCe1984zz It's Lennon, lol. He's alive to watch Bonzo.

  • I like Bonham puts his cigarette out on the floor.

  • Harry Potter alive? 0:05 - 0:28

  • @Sappyspartan Fuck Harry Potter

  • zep did the right thing to disband after losing Bonham. You lose anyone of those guys and its not the same, they all contributed to make them. they were 1 group of very taleted musicians. Bonham is one of the best musicians ever.

  • jesus what a piss up that night wouldve been, rory, billy and john

  • The great ones are the guys who have a signature sound. For example: You KNOW when it's Stewart Copeland playing and of course, John Henry Bonham. Or you KNOW when it's Alex Van Halen because of that dead brown sounding snare. Tim Alexander from Primus. Neil Peart has a throaty tom signature sound as well. That dude from Incubus, Jose Pasillas, I always know when it's him. Chad Sexton, signature snare sound. Phil Collins' open tom tom Gretsch sound. Give me some other drummers I'm missing....

  • Bonham's sound, groove, and fills are thrilling. I can never tire of listening to Zep, in large part, due to his drumming.

On the other hand, I saw Rush in '93 and I literally fell asleep at the concert.

  • And it stops before Rory Gallagher... sadface.

  • He's from The West Midlans and isn't overrated

  • @Carpetlay1

OVERRATED? who said this ?? i think my monkey is jumping ..:-D

John Henry Bonham was , and will be the best fucking rock drummer EVER !

and Led Zeppelin is definetley the greatest Band EVER !

    amen .

  • @ThrashRoC I may not agree with 'best band ever', but as far as rock drummers go, this guy set the standard.

  • @ThrashRoC well said brother please checkout my channel dedicated to bonham.

  • @ThrashRoC I don't agree that he was the best. technically speaking, the best is Neil Peart, he's the perfect drummer. But no doubt that Bonzo is, at least, top 5. In my opinion, after Peart, he's the best!

  • that host sucks...next time dont ask yes/no questions, dumbass

  • @uhesj Billy Connolly...he's a Scottish actor/musician

  • I really, really want that interviewer's accent.

  • @spacitydrummer4JC My English teacher has it... Fuckin Scot

  • Moby Dick!... dick, dick, dick, dick...

  • supercharger

  • Got one thing to say...Neil Peart

  • @irena7777777

    Got one thing to say...LOL

  • @irena7777777 that robot? who never improves? who writes all his drum solos? who is boring as hell? who plays without energy and emotion? I rank drummers in 3 catagories, there are the great drummers, the all time greats, then, the category of keith moon, for me, Neil Peart is in between great drummers, and all time greats, very boring..writes drum solos..wtf lol..neil peart is no where near the greatest and it is beyond me how one can think so

  • @jaqua524 Yeah, he is top of many drumming mag polls and is inspiration to a whole bunch of other respected drummers, so you must be right. Of course, you are a Zep fanboy and would never care to look at this objectively, and you quote other people's criticism of Peart verbatim just to back up your argument and make yourself feel better with the unfounded knowledge that 'your guy' is 'better' than everybody elses. you've never sat down and formed an original thought in your life, I imagine.

  • @irena7777777 okay, a few things here, and I will be mature about this, I am a fanboy of no one, Keith Moon is my favorite drummer, I have sat down and thought about this, Peart has great chops, technically, a genius, but he's a boring drummer, to robotic, no emotion, its my opinion man, take it easy. And based on your comment, and your judging and attacking my intelligence based on my opinionated comment, I can make a fair assumption that you are a moron, so fuck off asshole.

  • @irena7777777 I gave you my own opinion on Peart, read my comment I just wrote, I am a fanboy of no one except myself, I find Peart a boring overreated drummer, dont go jumping on him trying to defend him, its nothing personal. However, I can't take you seriously, you are judging me (a stranger to you), and my intelligence based on one opinionated comment, so although I can't be sure, to me, I can assume you are an impatient idiot, or closed minded, fuck off and have a great day :)

  • @jaqua524 Calm yourself, fanboy faggot...nobody is questioning your intelligence, or lack of. What you type is the giveaway. I am impatient. Impatient with cunts like you who know fuck all and profess to have 'intelligence'. You are a brainless twat, and that's patently obvious. Please go fuck yourself.

  • @irena7777777 wow, well since you are an impatient idiot who has attacking me like this, I think nothing of you. I will try to not stoop to your level, but you are saying this because of my opinion on Peart, think of that. Grow up, and learn how to communicate rationally with people, but I'm not trying to deal with that shit, so fuck off. I am in grad school for psychology. Don't waste your time responding, cause I am not going to look at it, I also feel very sorry for you.

  • @jaqua524 Grad school for psychology must also bear failures, one must assume. Anyway, who gives a fuck what you are or what you think you are. My opinion of you is that you are a dimwitted buffoon with questionable judgement. You obviously have a higher opinion of yourself but many like you have come and gone before, leaving not a trace of impact. You will fail. Of that, you can be sure.

  • @irena7777777 gotcha pal, hey guess what? I love you dipshit

  • @jaqua524 Thanks. Good luck with the sex-change op

  • @irena7777777 lmao dude, lighten up, we only live once

  • @jaqua524 Yeah, and in that time, let us bathe in shit and kiss the cocks of Namibian goat farmers.

  • @irena7777777 lets do it

  • @jaqua524 Comes down to 2 things...tits and tornados, my friend.

  • @irena7777777 yeah, but mostly tits

  • @jaqua524 Unless one of the tits has been cut off, then it's mostly tornados.

  • @irena7777777 true, but i dont want one tit.

  • @jaqua524 Yeah, but there's no manipulating breast cancer. It's one of the main reasons why so many tits are consgned to the waste basket.

  • @jaqua524 Peart is a great drummer, and Rush were a good enough band that they put to shame most modern bands, because music is in the gutter, but Rush was not competition to Zeppelin. Of course, who gives a shit. Both bands are essentially gone and part of history. Just enjoy what they did, and do whatever you can to bring some new hard rock back so we have something decent to listen to.

  • seen him as a kid and i wanted to play the drums, which i have for 30 years...please checkout my channel dedicated to John Henry Bonham..

  • Uggh. I was a teenager and just so sad the day I heard Bonzo had died. It was just awful. My favorite band. I was all excited planning on getting to finally see them live when they would finally come touring for "In Through the Out Door".

I still remember that day. Just very sad.

  • says it all really

  • WTF is this show? Billy Connolly, Bonzo and Galllagher. Gallagher is the best guitarist EVER and Bonzo is the best Drummer ever...that would have been something to see them jam...it must have happened at some point during pre-recording.

  • Woahhhh Rory Gallagher at the very end...my mind just jizzed itself!!

  • He IS the greatest rock drummer ever, but he's so incredibly humble in this video.

  • Bonzo forever :-)

  • It's not drum solos that made Bonham great. Not even close.

It was the little things such as the single kick triplets in Good Times Bad Times, the swingy ghost-note groove on Fool in the Rain, the dynamic range of What Is and What Should Never Be, The Pounding fucking clock groove of Kashmir, The haunting hugeness of the When the Levee Breaks....

    etc etc etc..

I could go on and on and on...

I studied every note he ever recorded, and to me, THAT'S the shit that made John Bonham great.

  • @patton303 that and the best kick drum ever played.....

  • @patton303 brother please subscribe as we have alot in common...listen to this man hes on the money.!!

  • @208stroker1

Thanks brother... check out my drumming videos too... you can hear a lot of Bonham in my chops. : )

  • @patton303 BANG! hit it on the head m8

  • @patton303 I don't know shit about music or drumming, but I LOVE Led Zeppelin and JHB!

  • @patton303 great analysis. Anyone that thinks solos are what makes a great drummer hasn't played in a band. The real question is could Zeppelin have existed with another drummer.

  • @patton303 Well stated Scott. John Bonham is one of the most powerful and profound drummers of all time. His greatness had nothing to do with any solos. He was so much more than flashy speed rolls and showmanship, he was rock n roll.

  • @patton303 Excellent use of phonological techniques and repetition through asyndetic listing. Its almost as though you can hear the beats he's playing when you read your descriptions of them. My old English teacher would be impressed...

  • @patton303

I'll not argue with ya mate, but that's still a helluva solo.......

  • @patton303 not too mention the insane shuffle on Rock and Roll!!! Drum Solos were just icing....the snare sound..the drum sound.....huge influence...sorely missed...:(

  • John Bonham was a true natural talent, and his sincerity and integrity as a musicians is what made him so great. He deserved every bit of credit he has ever received and more. He was a true artist, and has influenced so many with his musical expression. Truth is, he would have been just as great on any instrument he could have chosen to play. His playing spoke to our souls. We could identify with it. He will always be the most powerful and influential to me.

  • OH MY GOD!!!! Rory Gallagher and John Bonham on the same set, let alone the same room! That audience sure is lucky the room didn't explode out of pure awesomeness!

  • bonzoooooooooooooooo <3

  • Overated as hell, but still good.

  • @Wampaa yeah just like your mom biotch...bonzo=greatest

  • @Wampaa Overrated? Wow, don't know music then.

  • Still easily the greatest rock drummer that has ever lived...John Henry Bonham. If you want to see what is far and away Bonham's best youtube video then type this into the youtube search engine..."Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick (Live At Royal Albert Hall 1970)".

  • Is his accent a Brumm accent? Does anybody know?

  • Where the fuck is Rory Gallagher.......... ROOOAAARRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYY There's only one Gallagher, one Gallagher, there's only one Gallagher.

  • Well if that arse royalty licking sucker upper Scottish tit had asked some decent questions then we might have got some interesting answers. God I hate Willy CONnolly

  • @dharmashooter *Billy.

  • if u look up Humble in the Dictionary you will find this MAN

  • R.I.P. John Henry "Bonzo" Bonham. You were the greatest drummer ever to grace the planet, and your music is still very much alive...

  • He wasn't so much jazz based as he was funk and Motown based, believe it or not.

  • @bounddrummer I think he was really more influenced by the Stax artists than Motown . Stax was where the real funk was goig on , Motown was more radio friendly pop stuff than Stax

  • I didnt know a jazz influenced drummer can become the greatest rock drummer in the world.

  • Bonzo was Teddy boy, yay!

  • HAHAHA ONE DISLIKE. FUCK YOU ALL.

  • that guy is the best

  • What a waste of "interview". Billy C, your stupid questions are not funny. John Bonham... a true drum hero!

  • at the beginning of the drum solo i saw robert mouth the words "lets go Coke up boys!"

  • ha ha classic john god bless my friend

  • Haha, Bonham doesn't say more than 3 words at a time the whole interview!

  • John is greatly missed. He was absolutely brilliant! Thanks for posting this. maurice

  • Awesome.

  • 3:14

  • @bustballz id like to see you do any of that you pompous ass hole

  • @ 2:20 = 420

  • Irish!!

  • @drummer96ish

    Who's Irish?

  • @KaitainCPS The interviewer:D

  • @drummer96ish

You mean Billy Connolly, the famous Scottish comedian from Scotland? The one speaking with a Scottish accent, one that's clearly from Glasgow in Scotland?

Yeah, I think he might be Irish.

  • @KaitainCPS Whatever...

  • @drummer96ish

Well, I guess you don't learn much about these things, being Norwegian.

  • Comment removed

  • @KaitainCPS Swedish, and who lives in Canada anyway.

  • @drummer96ish

    Well, y'know, Swedish, Norwegian, whatever...

    :)

  • That's an interview?!? lol

  • Presenter is Billy Connolly

  • ahhh....so sad :-\

  • Why isn't the interviewer looking at John?

  • @Bruinsmamusic They are friends

  • I heard i took a dump in a plane once, and instead of cleaning it up, he just asked one of the roadies to switch place with him. Hahah

  • tongue in cheek and i bet they got wankered after the show

  • One of the most outstanding drum solos in Rock history...

  • @drummer7771 IS the most outstanding drum solo in rock history

  • Thanks, thegodswerethere! I did not know how to edit it! I hit enter before I could change it!

  • 21 years ago today, with John Bonham's passing, my heart was broken for the very first time in my life. Hey. What is on that shirt John's wearing?

  • @Eeka2112 it is not 21 but 31 years ago...rip bonzo.

  • Connolly's patter obviously improved later ; ) He could've got more out of Bonham, eh? Easy to say now I realize – seems all the more a shame given this was the last or one of the last chances

  • Haha Billy Connolly at the start.

  • we will not get another John Bonham . One of a kind . NO rock and roll drummer could swing like him .

  • @Cincinnatus1869 dude...I totally agree with you!!
