    it is okay,,,

    not really good,,,

because the camera is move back / forward while STOP cable

  • /watch?v=0xBn2HvC564

  • LOL looks super expensive!!!

  • Have a search on steadirob at youtube and you will find videos with this system and a libra 5 stabilized head and you will see that it works becausr that combination needs swing and sway to work properly. Similar to Steadicam which is in itself also a "loose" system. And handling it with care and no abrupt start/stop will improve the performance. This video was a rough test.

  • OMG I hope you have improved the design, that looks completely unusable, you should rename that "cable cam" to "unstable-pendulum cam"

  • @rodstartube I'm not sure you understand the principle here, but that is OK.

Actually, I did a shoot with it in the jungle in Malaysia, 200m cable through jungle and over a river, of course with a stabilized head, wireless.

This was a well paid professional production and it all worked very well.

your name that you gave this rig is totally correct and THE reason why this system works!

But search further until you find the next generation of this cable cam, but still with the same principle.

  • @steadirob thanks for your answer. I just said that because I have seen hanging heads like seen in this video which have been refused for performing in live broadcasting productions, like sports and concerts. My comment in my previous post was made by just watching angular variations effects due to inertial effect when head starts and stops. Instead of obtaining just sliding, it gets sliding + unwanted roll + tilt garbage. As it is, it could be softened by a huge ramp setting to sliding motor.

  • sweet, using the RED one camera i see =]

  • about 75 kg with this head, i will try a Libra head soon, that is a bit lighter, but also stabilized.

i think it can hold a Powerpod 2000 head to, but then the rig will easily about 90 kgs, without camera.

It all depends on the production and its budget....

  • I like it!!! How much does the entire rig weigh (less the camera?)
