I always wonder about women who have multiple abortions. They didn't use birth control after the first one? It's hard to believe it when someone carries on about how awful abortion is when they have done it multiple times. If it was so horrific you would think after the first one you would take all precautions to make sure you never had to go through it again. I just do not understand this at all.

I would never agree with or vote for legislation that controls a woman's body, but... There are literally so many forms of birth control out there, for both girls and guys. This is where I get hypocritical - if a woman were to say I messed up and got pregnant, and I'm getting an abortion - good for you. But when I hear stories of women who get three or four or five abortions, because they're too lazy to use contraception, I find that annoying. Which, logically, doesn't make sense I guess.

It's nice to know that since 1974 abortions performed in the US have decreased by 33%. It looks like demonstration leading to education is making a difference. The states with the most active pro-life laws have seen the biggest abortion declines. The pro-killing your own flesh and blood group likes to claim the fight is over and those who care for the lives of these children have lost. Obviously that is not the case. I got pregnant while in remission from leukemia. The chances of the cancer returning while preg was over 50%. Docs said that an abortion would not be considered wrong b/c of the medical condition I was in at the time. On a visit to the gynecologist, I had to have an ultrasound (obviously because of my cancer).....and I've got to say, I took 1 look at that little bouncing blob in my womb....and I melted. I chose life over death; and today, I am 14yrs cancer free with 2 beautiful girls.

@Kilox1000 When ppl use each other for their own sexual gratification, in some cases women end up used like an object because of it. When a man sees a woman as a tool for pleasure, they are treated like that - an object. They become as valuable as their car. It all becomes about "what I can get from it". The woman might be thinking it is because of love, but it is a deceptive distorted form of love. Love is not "I am physically attracted to that person so I am going to have sex with them".

At fertilisation, the DNA of the child is formed & a completely new being is created at that moment. Due to the information in the DNA you can predict future health problems for the baby. With rape, 1% of abortions, the child is a victim as well shouldn't be killed for crimes of its father. Indirect abortions are needed, not direct abortions.

@dianalee84 I am so sorry for your friend =( 93% due to inconvenience. Women who are raped need better support rather than telling them "your best bet is killing the child. You will never cope". There are places that provide this help & there are plenty of rape babies in the world who are so glad they weren't aborted. I wouldn't say to their face "you should have been aborted". Many women who abort experience regret afterwards once they heal. It is all well & good until it dawns on you later on.

I would never agree with or vote for legislation that controls a woman's body, but... There are literally so many forms of birth control out there, for both girls and guys. This is where I get hypocritical - if a woman were to say I messed up and got pregnant, and I'm getting an abortion - good for you. But when I hear stories of women who get three or four or five abortions, because they're too lazy to use contraception, I find that annoying. Which, logically, doesn't make sense I guess.

I realize it's difficult for people to change their minds on such a polarizing topic as abortion, but I've known people who have done just that. An eagle egg has more protection in the United States of America than a baby...the pro-life movement won't be silent simply because the "pro-death" movement wants us to.

It's nice to know that since 1974 abortions performed in the US have decreased by 33%. It looks like demonstration leading to education is making a difference. The states with the most active pro-life laws have seen the biggest abortion declines. The pro-killing your own flesh and blood group likes to claim the fight is over and those who care for the lives of these children have lost. Obviously that is not the case. Keep up the good fight and save the lives of as many children as possible.

please go to mare. org. This is a website of children that are available for adoption in Michigan. There are no children under age 3 on this site. This is because there is a huge demand for newborns babies to adopt. The older children shown have been so horribly abused that the average adoptive family cannot manage their behaviors and live a sane life. In many cases they are in specialized group homes.

to continue... I think that many of these kids SHOULD have been given up at birth by their birth mothers, certainly not aborted. I think these moms should be counseled to place their child for adoption. Birth mothers are pressured to keep the child, when it is NOT in the best interest to do so. My husband and I have been waiting 11 months for a baby. We are homestudied and ready to go. Unfortunately, we are in our 40's and not considered good candidates because of our age.

I got pregnant while in remission from leukemia. The chances of the cancer returning while preg was over 50%. Docs said that an abortion would not be considered wrong b/c of the medical condition I was in at the time. On a visit to the gynecologist, I had to have an ultrasound (obviously because of my cancer).....and I've got to say, I took 1 look at that little bouncing blob in my womb....and I melted. I chose life over death; and today, I am 14yrs cancer free with 2 beautiful girls.

It says this underneath, "Facts and statistics, Abortion pill, including frequency and demographics". It is a .org website. People don't just abort clumps of cells. People abort babies at any time of gestation. People who say it is not a baby until it comes out are not being honest.

Just like an elephant fetus is still an elephant, a human fetus is still a baby and babies are humans. They deserve the right to live. People should not be having sexual intercourse if they cannot afford to have a child because, naturally, sex is used for reproduction. Pleasure comes with it, but it is primarily for reproduction and people forget that.

@sadtomatogirl Short answer is, yes. If you have sex you should be prepared to raise a child, not kill it because you don't want to take responsibility for creating a child. The child is not a disease that should be prevented by health-care. Babies are the intended result of sex. If you want to actually use sex for what it is intended for you'd actually have better sex. Falling pregnant is not a horrible infection that needs to be "taken care of". It is a beautiful part of being a woman.

When a man sees a woman as a tool for pleasure, they are treated like that - an object. They become as valuable as their car. It all becomes about "what I can get from it". The woman might be thinking it is because of love, but it is a deceptive distorted form of love. Love is not "I am physically attracted to that person so I am going to have sex with them".

@Kilox1000 You need to find out what love is. A child is not an "accident" that is precisely the problem. Ppl label babies as a disease or infection. At fertilisation, the DNA of the child is formed & a completely new being is created at that moment. Due to the information in the DNA you can predict future health problems for the baby. With rape, 1% of abortions, the child is a victim as well shouldn't be killed for crimes of its father. Indirect abortions are needed, not direct abortions.

@misspiccola11 I'm not prochoice for this reason, but on the rape issue...I know someone very well who got pregnant after being raped,from a man who was actually a vilent serial rapist(luckily was caught) There was No Way my friend would've could've kept that pregnancy.She would've aborted it herself if she hadn't had access to a legal abortion.I know some women don't terminate rape pregancies,I respect their choice. People should let the victim decide herself.

@dianalee84 I am so sorry for your friend =( 93% due to inconvenience. Women who are raped need better support rather than telling them "your best bet is killing the child. You will never cope". There are places that provide this help & there are plenty of rape babies in the world who are so glad they weren't aborted. I wouldn't say to their face "you should have been aborted". Many women who abort experience regret afterwards once they heal. It is all well & good until it dawns on you later on.

There are women who've not terminated pregnancies from rape, and I'm happy for them that they were able to do that,and were found solace and comfort in having the child.But my friend wouldn't have been ablre to do that. She was disgusted that she was pregnant from that rapist and would've self aborted had she not been able to have an abortion at the hospital.I'm Very proud she did report it CON
