I tried RedSn0w and it did not work I go thru the DFU mode and everything and go to reboot but my iPod jus reboots directly back to the home screen... Am I doing something wrong??? Is this happening to you and is there another jailbreaking download for the iPod touch 4g IOS 5.0.1? Also on the Redsn0w application on the Windows it just stops at waiting for reboot. And yes I'm doing as an adminstrator on windows. Please help and or give me a link to jailbreak ( that you have experience with) than

I told my dad about it and we went to the apple store. I spoke with the manger about the situation and voided my warranty! I thought this was legal? Now I'm stuck with the apple logo.

I'm runnning windows xp and when I tried to switch compatibility to windows xp I did not have that option for some reason. What I had to do was download and run the jailbreak with my computer in safe mode and it worked perfectly. Also my big boss packages were missing from Cydia but after a couple of reboots they appeared. Oh, one more thing when I downloaded installous and resprung my device it deleted all my apps except for one just reboot and it's fine. Maybe this will help someone.
