@Sma in this case, it was a very short tide and close to the stones on the beach, hence the stoney ground i was forced to dig. air pressure has far more to do with a worms where-abouts than temp to be honest...... .... Thaks for the post but, the advert get's it deleted, i sell pumps too!
@crazyplums You should have read the advice given in the post properly! This was given for newbies to lug pumping!
It was not stating that your video showed pumping under these conditions, in fact you should NOT collect lug from the nursery beds re. future stocks.
With respect to the best conditions as stated in the deleted comment! These have been reached and found to be true after 45 years digging and pumping lug! Your response contains an advert, please delete it!
@SmaTackle you're welcome to post advice again, my advert is for my own pumps, no other adverts please.
Nursery beds? i was pumping large worms, as you can see, any small ones were left to burrow down again, thats the same where-ever i pump. As for ideal conditions... you'll know very well that every day is different, even when the weather is the same, good days and bad days, sometimes 300 in a couple of hours, other times lucky to get enough for a decent session! :-)
If you are using them the same day you can leave the guts in. If you want to keep them a few days you need to gut them or they go all sloppy and useless.
Nice vid Crazyplums, just shows how easy it is to save serious cash by using a bait pump. Spot on reelbigtackle com

can I ask why your gutting them? I didn't realise your supposed to, is it so they dont explode when they hit the water during casting?
