  • i don't even know what this is, but it's funny as hell

  • trolls trolling trolls trolling trolls trolling...

  • PMQ is a platform for bullying, not rational debate.

  • @SwordInAir Do you think that if a Prime Minister can't stand his ground against the sneering and jeering of the opposition, he is fit to lead the country?

If you ask me, it's rather a good indicator of their ability to act calmly and effectively under pressure and strain.

  • And this is why we should never trust our politicans...they behave like football holligans!!

  • As an American, I have this is awesome.

  • that speaker person is terrible!, no authority in his voice!

  • 2:02 the fat man on the right. Sleeping?

  • This is so much more entertainment that C-SPAN in USA.

  • In Germany we are looking for a paliament-atmosphere like this....

In Germnay political correctness is important.

What do you think about this in england?

    Many Greetings from Germany

    :-)

  • @MrEhemaliger das stimmt

  • That's what any Parliament in the world should be about.

  • What is the party of Gordon Brown?

  • @warnation101

    The Labour Party.

  • @warnation101 An Unelected Person that Ripped the UK OFF with Green taxes,Council tax Hikes never seen before,Stealth tax was his Best. And Record borrowing to pay for MORE PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS! Making the Jobless figure look good.Blair/Brown sent this Country down the path.Where is Blair Now?? In his own little Nest Egg paid by US!!!!!And Brown gone and seen very little..Unless talking about Money HE Made but but not for the UK.Both should be Tried for Treason,Thatcher said NO! Labour said YES!

  • @pogsboo Huh?

  • inflated pig bladder!

  • BOOOORRRREED....his necks jangles like a turkey dinner they argue like husband and wife does anything get done other than this earthly excercise ....RESULTS better than average too dificult? can you seriously be so polarized that you screw the people you want to serve

  • Are the debates always like this? In Denmark there's a leader and the politicians say something one at a time. DAMN BORING! This is much more fun to watch!

  • British conservatives are great, rofl... wanna trade, Britain?

  • Almost a Mexican wave around the House!

  • better than football

  • They act like monkey's. But it still work's.

  • While it is true that one evaded a question, it's also true that he raised a very good issue, which is fiscal irresponsibility. Fiscally it is irresponsible, for example, that the US Government bails out the same companies every few years, and holds no one accountable for these economic crises. So of course the economy bleeds, and more foolhardy individuals say "let's give taxcuts to the rich to make up for this."

Why is it that your focus is on the election question, and not the £1b?

  • I wish the United States' Congress acts like this as well. I'm sure more people would be interested in politics if this was the case.

  • I want to become a government man so i can be as mature and cool as these guys xD

  • 1:50

Look at that prick behind Cameron.

Don't you just want to punch him?

  • Do scotland/wales/northern ireland participate in UK general elections?

  • @johndoe77774444

Yes! This is the Parliament of the United Kingdom, not just England. In fact Gordon Brown represents a Scottish constituency.

  • @johndoe77774444 yes they do

  • @johndoe77774444 Yes, as mentioned this is the Parliament of the UK.

However, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales also have their own devolved Governments. It's a bit bizarre really, as it means that although they can vote directly in English/UK matters, the English can't vote on theirs (other than via the UK parliament).

From our (English) side, it serves to promote the idea that the union and all its resources are stronger with us all in it rather than independent.

  • @feralferret Thanks for the clarification. Almost nothing is taught of your political arrangment in the US.

  • Hello from America!

I want to say, from Tony Blair, David Cameron, Betty Boothroyd, and Dennis Skinner's speeches on whether there are Tories in the Palace...

as an American, I watch the House of Commons on C-SPAN every Wednesday, and I see a group of some of the most dignified and passionate legislators on the face of the Earth.

You bring class and composure when there is none, you identify the problems without fear, with respect, and a class that will stand the test of time. Well done! :-)

  • @mianbentley "You bring class and composure when there is none, you identify the problems without fear, with respect, and a class that will stand the test of time."

I seriously can't tell whether or not that's a joke.

  • @GiantSandles :-) I get it

Here's my perspective. The U.S. Congress has so many officials with controversial policies that go ignored because other lawmakers refuse to censure something they might get caught doing themselves. Parliament is different. They will deliberately (and sometimes maliciously) chew up their opponents and leave them to dry, over very tough issues.

Its Government. If you aren't going to stand and fight for your party, you don't belong in the practice of it.

    Thats class!

  • @mianbentley How is the prime minister (well, he wasn't the PM in this video, but he is now) almost never answering a question 'classy'? Or constant shouting and jeering 'composed'? It isn't classy in the least, lol

  • @GiantSandles If they didn't verbally beat the hell out of eachother, all that brain power in one room would start smelling like burnt batteries. U.S. Congress is useless at the moment because they don't argue. They crowd in a room, argue over parsimonious issues...and support ignorance of the electorate.

If there's a huge issue facing Parliament (like the wiretapping scandal), heads will roll on either side. Cameron got hit, Brown got hit...

If this happenend in Congress, they'd cry.

  • Greetings from across the pond. Why is everyone yelling? Is that the conservative party? What are they all saying?

  • and yet this is the " mother " of all parliaments?? the example of british law and british politics seen here ...

  • @p220394 i love this style of debate bing an american..its really cool in my opinion because i would love for the american crooks we call politicians to get questioned and what not HOWEVER the way they act childish while ppl are talking is NOT COOL. i mean i love the brits but the parliament are supposed to representatives for their country. they make their country look childish when they do that

  • Brown was the worst PM ever. Allowed uncontrolled mass immigration, created record debt and unemployment and spent our money like a drunken sailor. Good riddance to this "fucking disaster".

  • @Bellalodicci9 So Brown fucked up immigration and unemployment? I say give it a few more years under the Tories then we'll see the "fucking disaster" you describe.

Labour / Tories - they both work for the same boss!

  • British Parliament debates are very entertaining.

  • @warnation101 They really aren't. It's really very vulgar.

  • i'd forgotten how diabollicle gordon brown was!

  • brown is a terrible public performer

  • Brown's an idiot, Cameron's an idiot, why are we constantly governed by ignorant idiots??

  • this is really entertaining

  • Ever considered the world would be a better place without money? We’re conditioned to believe that everything would come to a halt if we got rid of it. But it wouldn’t, we evolved without it, we couldn’t have survived if money was essential. We evolved in communities and we are a societal being. Just watch them arguing in Parliament, they all want the same thing, they only argue over money. Research and free yourself. Google; Zeitgeist Moving Forward 2011 and The Venus Project.

  • American Politics: *multiple fart noises*

British Politics: "AAAAAAHHH RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLERABBLErabblerabblerabblerabble!!!!!"

Conclusion: British politics is more amusing and more fun to watch.

  • @MovieMagicMaster HEAR HEAR!! *bags feet and shouts*

  • @BFBCFTW

    lol

  • @MovieMagicMaster As an American, I would have to agree. This looks fun.

  • @lordcowking

It's settled then. More British politicians in the American political system.

  • Gordon Brown says such good things and people boo him. Let's see David Cameron tear this country to ruins. Soon 1% of the people will have 99% of the total wealth.

  • "Britons, understandably, feel that if they had to choose between the punchy near-anarchy of their own debates and the dull high-mindedness of the ones in the US Congess - with it's legislators who think so well of themselves and who tend to drone on far too much about patriotism and the American people - they would choose their own system every time."

~ Sarah Lyall, New York Times London reporter, 'A Field Guide to the British'.

  • That was fucking awesome

  • Comment removed

  • @crossa96 Pipe down you child. Get a proper system of government.

  • @crossa96 This is the way we do things. This is the way we have always done things.

The US Congress is fucking boring. But in the House of Commons, the two parties face each other across a gap the length of two swords. This dates from an age old era when people carried swords -- they couldn't physically harm each other. Traditionally, if you crossed the line, you were challenging an opposing member to a duel.

Just another example of our rich history continued even today. Britain rules.

  • If only the American House of Representatives or Senate was as exciting as this.... they just sit down and talk things over and eventually you get the occasional person who stands up and asks to go against someone's claim... maybe that's why we're still struggling with the Economy, haha

  • A person can watch this and not understand what's happening, but still really enjoy the general awesomeness of everybody cheering and booing.

  • I´m german. I like the "Ordeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer" in your parliament

    funny :-)

  • Seems like a mess O.e

  • Both are tools. Give me Daniel Hannan and Nigel Ferage over them anyday.

  • ENGLAND IS AWESOME!!!!

  • I think it would be awesome if there were 2 really buff guys on each side, with no shirts, staring each other off, saying "I will destroy you!!" using signs.

  • Are they obliged to touch the dispatch box when they're speaking?

  • @Timrath No

  • @Neighb0urhoodWatch Is it some sort of tradition then? It almost looks as if they wanted to make a point of it. "Look, I'm touching the box, see everyone?" Or is it just a quirk these two guys have in common?

  • @Timrath Every time a politician stands at a podium, they will be dominating the shit out of that podium. Its about body language. Its shows power and confidence. Also, its something to lean on.

  • the room is small so they can get up in each others faces. seriously, that's why it was designed as such

  • This should be on the sports channel.

  • This is embarrassing. How can these troglodytes get ANYTHING accomplished with this utterly deplorable demonstration of incivility?

  • You have to admit, despite the chaos, no parliament can measure up to the British in terms of uniqueness, morale and enjoying life whilst slapping ancient regulation, chamber traditions into what would otherwise be an incredibly dull throwback between the two equally dull sides.

  • Is it always like this?

  • LOL i bet british question time is far more interesting then the italian question time. from this short vid it seems like they have quite a lot of fun :D

  • Flipping heck that is craziness!

  • lol guy sleeping @ 2:00

  • When it was built in the 1800s, there weren't as many MPs; however over the years the number of MPs has increased. It's great to have a small chamber it creates atmosphere and you you don't need as many microphones.

  • PARTY HARD!

  • This is how debates are supposed to go. Not the "get up, say Meh, sit down quietly, cause everyone is sleeping."

  • pair of cunts mun, long life guy folkes

  • l... l... l..le...le..le..let m...let m...LET ME

  • they laugh like a child..LOL

  • this is so cool, the room, the people, the main man standing up to talk.

i would like to see one time a man going up to stand and shout "THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"....

  • So why is Cameron and his party in Mr Brown's shoes now ... and is Britain worst off for it?

  • This is how it should be in the States.

  • David cameron is such a mug cunt, but its funny :D

  • this is like a really bad packing match xD

  • I've never seen the Australian Parliament have debates like these, the British parliament is intense, our parliament is extremely boring, everyone is very polite and the Speaker is overly-sensitive compared to your lot

  • Omg this room is too small, and they sit in front of each other as if they will play volley!!

  • shouting, laughing, talking disorderly and the small room........ A modern miracle

  • Being from Sweden, I find both the extremely small parliament room and the debating style very chaotic and disordered. Everyone's screaming at each other all the time and it seems like they barely fit in the room - amusing but I still prefer the swedish way, even though our debates could be a little more lively.

  • being from the USA I find this kind of strange in a way, saw this type of situation in the movie "the madness of king George" but didn't think this primitive way was still exercised. find it amusing i suppose:)

  • @MrDryose

It's rarely like this, just when there's a large amount of tension between the parties.

  • @MrDryose Just because their politicians get to debate freely and have to face more pressure doesn't mean it's primitive. I wish congress was structured like this.

  • OMG yesterday we watched this EXCACT same vid in social studies!!! :O

  • Bunch of private school kids!

  • david cameron and brown should hang themselves

  • If only we could do this in America. The debates would be far more interesting!

  • Cameron was a tough guy to face across that table.

  • Ummm......well that was fascinating. VERY surprised that the Brits of all people allow this, but apparently I don't know them/you well at all.

That poor judge. (or whatever role he plays).

  • @rswc55 The "judge" is the Speaker of the House. He functions the same way as the Speaker of the House in America.

  • 0:22 I just crack up at that point it's so funny, I watched this in my English class last year :L :L

  • dang let brown speak. this shit is funny as hell but after a while let the man speak! they got the entire opposition shoutin and yellin at the same time geez!

  • Children fighting in a sand-pit measuring penises.

  • What a mess!

  • I love it

  • I love watching this stuff

  • fucking best parliament ever

  • That's some real political DEBATE !

  • @marmaline2001 Here we go, the truth, well said!

  • complete idiot

  • That room fucking stinks.

  • o-o-order :D lol

  • I hate seeing the Tories in this video. What a bunch of howling, inbred cunts.

  • it looks like a pub with drunk people who are watching rugby

  • fuck off you dirty fuckin sheep shaggers

  • Can anybody please tell me why this british parliament room is very small, compare to other nations...?

  • @Insulterz

It is that small deliberately to give the chamber atmosphere.

  • @Medeasbiggestfan

it is meant to be close to each other.

Noticed to 2 red lines ? are as much apart as two sword lenghts. Standing on the lines you could taunt your counterpart, but you cannot reach him physically. Ancient regularies. ;)

  • @rivenoak

Did you know the phase 'toeing the line' comes from those red lines in the Commons?

  • @rivenoak This is in fact untrue historically..

  • @Insulterz If i remember correctly. This chamber is medieval and the size hasn't changed since. It also forces you to hear and listen to everyone.

  • @Insulterz I agre, it looks really small.

  • @Insulterz 1000 years of political history i think

  • @Insulterz

It seems that the country ruled in dictatorship, their pseudo-parliament will be so great.

    Just like the mainland China.

  • @Insulterz it's because it was built in the time when people have smaller body size.

  • @Insulterz this isint the only debating room their are larger ones tho this one is used for more important subjects

  • This makes American politicians look like totally pussys. They would crack under the intensity of these debates in a heartbeat!

  • bubble 3 days ago

If you have any doubt how much of a "fucking disaster" the "One-eyed Scottish Idiot" was then google "Tullett Prebon Thinking the Unthinkable". It is 34 page report that describes a litany of failure that characterized his time as Chancellor and PM. Brown just about fucked up everything he got his hands on .This shameless, reckless, mentally unstable, desperate moron has done severe damage to this country that will not be undone for decades if ever.

  • fuck off brown, your a scottish man, go to your own parliament

  • @Theallsmellingnose

He's in the British parliament (Britain being made up of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales).

  • @ImperialGeorge yes i know mate, i was just stating the fact, i dont particularly like gordon brown and he should be in the scottish assembly

  • @Theallsmellingnose

The British parliament controls England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The Scottish Parliament has the majority of civil governance over Scotland, but the British parliament holds total control. Brown, like any British citizen, has the right to be elected as an M.P. of the United Kingdom.

  • @ImperialGeorge ok fair enough, but i still dont like him ;)

  • @Theallsmellingnose

    I'm with you on that.

  • I'm so bored with the "politics" here in America..you, London, have the best way of debating-yelling, and screaming at each other.

  • is a Joker now UK prime minister?

he might be good to tell the joke, but does laughting like that help the country?

  • PARLIAMENT IS AWESOME!!!!!!

  • gotta say they are so childish when brown says yes all the conservatives are like school children

  • alcohol is a beautiful thing

  • This is great! I think i found my "dream job". Either i sit in the opposition and shout at the prime minister the whole day or I relax in a comfortable seat and just stand up at times, just saying "Order".. :D

  • 2:01 the guy on the right corner is taking a little nap in this outrageous parliament

  • That's just politics.

  • this.....is.....AWESOME

  • HOOOOOLY SHIT.

  • How come no one is getting Mr.Speaker's order??? a Big Mac with 'Bacon'

  • @Saigonplayboy haha lol. I was thinking maybe a blueberry scone with a grande pikesplace from starbucks.. haha lol

  • I would really want to see this happen in the U.S. but unfortunately their isn't, if they had been doing this today, i believe the entire government in the U.S would be at each others necks. hahah

  • @hawgerchi808

    as an ENGLISH BRIT

Do you as an AMERICAN think if you had this system the DEBT crisis in the states would have been resolved any sooner ?

  • @donotserorator ha, in my opinon not at all. The tension wouldnt be as scary as it is now if we did have a parlimential government, but in the worst case the american politics are just filled up with old bags and old theiving men and women waiting to pounce on the next victim, which is the working class.

  • @hawgerchi808

Thanks for your reply . I hope all goes well for you and yours.

    Chris

    ENGLAND

  • @donotserorator no problem, it's great to share our nations political views, and i hope the same goes for yours as well.

    James

    Hawaii

  • I thinks Gordon is quite daft plus he has toe the line.

  • it looks like a circu and unfortunately we are the clowns!!!

  • It's really funny. In Holland the politicians only looking on twitter, playing on his iPad, iPhone & blackberry and reading magazines and news papers. I prefer this!

  • Is this the one called Fu**ing democracy?

  • Brits go hard in the paint

  • Holy shit this should be on ESPN not CSPAN!!!!!!

  • This is so like my country. Except this is more entertaining. In my country the media only pick the part when the opposition losing the debate and show it to the public.

  • i like it so much!

a saudi man has a dream called "democracy"

    :(

  • 2:00 Is that guy on the right asleep?

  • @InfernalGaming

hi yes they do but.... they are not.

If you look at TV pictures of the House of Commons chamber on the back of the GREEN benches there is a wooden strip and at intervals there is a circular roundel quite smal but in there there is a loud speaker that enables the rest of the chamber to hear what is said.

  • Same, as an American I think that if we had loud debate like this people like Bachman and Palin would be wiped out.

  • ORDER GODDAMNIT!!!!

  • as a brit i can honestly say that i am ashamed. this most replicas a childrens playground then a debating room disscussing the future of our country. you americans should be proud that your politicians can talk like adults

  • @socialist123 WTF are you talking about. America's congress is probably the most incompetent out of the developed world. At least you get some entertainment out of yours. All we get is trash talking on tv programings and bs politics circle talks with no end. we don't even have a politician debate on tv since its controlled.

  • @dackjack they mabye incompetent imperialistic tory assholes but they dont have to behave like 10 year olds!

  • @socialist123 You are a socialist and it is not surprising, you are a self hating, apologist and as a socialist you should not call yourself a Britn, since you hate the concept of national identity

  • @ScottishCaledonian only africans who have lived there for their entire lives have the right to a national identity you right wing twat

  • @socialist123 Their British identity is only a civic identity, they wil never be ethnically Scottish or English nor will anyone in Britain identify with them i the same way as they identify with people of their own ethnicity. You cannot deny the concept of identity, and ethnic identity is one of the most fundamental componants of our psychological makeup whether you like it or not.
