@LegahAsla I did think about using the SDK to write something like this, but in the end it doesn't really solve the problem. Because taps on the surface can easily be misinterpreted as clicks.
Apple Magic Mouse has a similar problem where you can't do a right and left click at the same time. This is a problem in shooters with only the option to hold the right mouse button to aim. I think the magic mouse is better because it seems like its body is better quality and its problem isn't as bad as this + it looks better, but it probably costs more.
@samm565 If "It's problem isn't as bad as this" is refering to the problem of not being able to press both buttons at the same time... exactly how NOT as bad can it bad, you either can or cannot press both buttons at the same time.
@marauderz Its problem isn't as bad because it doesn't matter if your resting your hand on part of the mouse. The top is 1 entire piece of whatever its made of and if you click down on the right side it will right-click even if your hand is touching the left, but the bad thing about it is, because the right side is held down you can't click the left because its already down. I guess it probably has 2 sensors underneath the button and whichever one is pressed down more/first is what is activated.
@marauderz This is better than the touch mouse that has 1 button and it just figures out which is the first finger that touches the mouse and what side it is on every time you click the button, which you demonstrated in the video. Because if you put your finger on the left and click down on the right, it will still be a left click.
Magic Mouse is only a problem when playing game that don't have a click to zoom function, and only a hold to zoom. Even the previous model mouse has this problem.
thx for this video, i thought my right click button has problem.. but yes it is sux indeed having to lift up left finger, thats probably y i thought my right click has problem (was about to complain to the shop)... cheers..
Shit, I just bought this thing. It's got lot of nice functionality but I intermittently have this problem, enough that if it continues I may have to take it back. Also there's no middle-click, which is a notable flaw, but there's an app you can run to give yourself that functionality; the app itself, however, has it's own flaws/forced feature implementations you may not actually want.
On top of all this, the scrolling functionality is significantly less responsive than an actual mouse wheel.
first of all, this is by no means a gaming mouse. and this issue exist because even though mouse can detect both fingers separately, it can't guess which one was pressing to click. well it could, analyzing which finger did wiggle in specific time with click trigger, but accuracy too much depends on the way you hold the mouse. they should have made two clicking switches instead of one.
as for solution: try moving left finger to the middle of the mouse instead of lifting it.
That would kill my ability to play Knights of the Old Republic or any other game that needs you to hold down both buttons in order to move. That makes it a deal-breaker for those who like playing such games.
I have a question... can you click on the center as if you were clicking the scroll wheel? Because I use that a lot to open links in new tabs, and if that doesn't work on this mouse I wouldn't want to buy it...
one more thing i would like to ask is about the scrolling... does it have vibration when you scroll, coz I found it very hard to estimate touch scrolls without any form of physical indication/feel with your finger...
I have a big problem with the mouse in Adobe applications... It doesn't zoom in/out right :/ Ist there any fix for this? In windows it works fine. But in after effects it works horrible, what is more right and left slide doesnt work as well. But this cant be done i think. Pleas help me with standard up and down scrolling if you can :(
@Milcom Except this one won't give you cramps when you use the mouse. Oh, and this one actually includes a function for your thumb, while magic mouse does not.
That's why a company decided to manufacture a silicone grip that fits on the magic mouse for the sole purpose to make it larger, therefore making it more ergonomic, and SO many people have bought it.
Yes, the usage of the thumb is a pretty big innovation. Now we're up to 3 fingers and the thumb, opening up much more possibilities.
Obviously you are some fanboi that jumped on Apple's bandwagon based on RECENT fame, since you have no idea of who stole from who. GTFO kid.
I got the mouse and I like it. One thing.. when does the LED on the mouse light up? I did not see it lit in the video but I have seen it ON on the pictures of the mouse website. Anybody got any clue?
I just received a Touch mouse from Amazon and i must say, with the batteries installed the weight and feel is one of definate QUALITY. if you have ever experienced the Apple Magic Mouse then just imagine it 30% larger and designed to ergonomically fit the palm of your hand . its functionality is somewhat second nature which is the weirdest thing. the button issue becomes a non issue after the first 3 minutes of use..trust me, you'll love it too. I have now decommissioned my MX Revolution. NO BS.
@thedailyxoom I have no problems with the quality, the main complaint here is the inability to press both buttons together at the same time. If you don't have a need for simultaneous 2 button pressing, good for you then!
@marauderz WOW, both buttons simultaneously? what is the name of the application that requires both buttons at the same time? in 30 years of using PCs i have never encountered that one..Dude,
I think you work for Logitech and your are intentionally flaming this product. your point here is absolutely silly but more so, I think its nitpicking.
@lycan4660 Things that require both buttons to be pressed simultaneously
- Dragging an item with the left click then changing your mind, with a normal mouse you can press the right click to cancel the drag as long as you don't release the left click.
- Any program that uses the two button click to emulate the middle mouse button
@marauderz Yes, but the software has a click lock setting which replicates this need. Additionally, any serious gamer would never use a wireless mouse for gaming, far less one without physical buttons the response time and the lag is way too slow.. Sir, i think you are fishing for problems that don't really exist.
what i would like to see is Microsoft enable a tap to click option like there is on a laptop's touchpad. I can understand your qualm but i really don't see it as a "PROBLEM" maybe just a consideration. But only if someone has a problem learning new things, In which event, this mouse would be the least of their problems.
Much prefer how the magic mouse is made. Hate the fact you have that plastic! Does it feel cheap? Sounds like it does! I am a metal fan so I prefer the magic mouse as it feels like glass on the top as well as the aluminium underneath which makes it really comfortable to use.
Also much prefer the shape. I hate the shape and size of the average mouse like that. In my opinion, that mouse looks horrible! I hate the black! And I would likely say that if the magic mouse was black instead of glassy w

dosnt the apple magic moue use the same touch process...I havnt seen any apple complaints...sorry, i think this i just something u can get accustomed to.
@2006edsel Yes, it's undoubtedbly something you could get accustomed to. The main issue here is that most reviews I saw previously don't mention about the issue.
the mice with the tactile 4-way clickable scroll wheel sound much better, good old tactile controls ! they should make pressure sensitive mouse buttons, add thumbwheels, etc much better to have the mouse taking tactile input to it's logical extreme to complement touch screens
@wuiyang that would mean you only need to know the right mouse button is pressed during the on release event, which isn't the case. Also.. still wouldn't solve the 2 button issue.
Thanks for the video. I was looking into buying this mouse, but I never heard any mention of this issue in the various reviews I saw for it. I play computer games sometimes, and the inability to left and right click at the same time, or even quickly switch between left and right clicking would make it hard to play many games. It would still be possible to play them I suppose, but that certainly is an issue to consider before getting the mouse.
@romanctp That's what I heard as well, so it's not a matter of Microsoft couldn't make a proper touch mouse while Apple could. But rather it's just how the tech has to work in general
@marauderz I'm using a Magic Mouse on Windows (bootcamp) right now and I really haven't had a hard time adjusting. Didn't even recognize that issue but this is a good video illustrating it for people who doesn't expect this need to 'finger-lift' every time. The Microsoft Mouse is just ergonomically better than the Magic Mouse.
@romanctp Not just about the finger lifting, but also the fact that you can't press BOTH buttons at the same time. I've never use a Magic Mouse before, but I remember it's kinda flat right? And of course the issue that most ppl have with the Touch Mouse is that with two AA batteries in them, it's relatively heavier than most mice.
@marauderz yes, it's flat, too flat for comfort I think :) The Magic Mouse also uses 2 AA's and ithe base is made of aluminum. The added heft is a good thing for me for stable tracking. Love the battery life of Apple's mouse, I hope the Touch Mouse also has long battery life (and has sleep mode)
@romanctp The Touch Mouse also sleeps after inactivity, but battery life is bad compared to other mice, about a month of continous use (I usually forget to turn it off when I go to sleep)
@marauderz ha! same here. if it goes for a month, then its longer than the Magic Mouse. great! I use it for almost 15 hours a day so maybe that's why (not gaming)..again, great vid! thanks man!
@JaredSPeters - and besides - I wasn't moaning. Simply pointing out that there ARE times when you need a "two button click", despite what some inexperienced posters were saying.
If you all you do on your computer is browse in IE a couple of times a week, then touch mouse is for you. Otherwise, forget it.
@JaredSPeters - It's like buying a piano and then finding that you can't play chords, only only one note at a time. You would EXPECT to be able to play chords cos every other piano out there does it, but no - your new expensive piano doesn't. Then you come along like a prize moron and offer the advise "buy many pianos" - as if that helps!!
Saying "This was never going to be right for you" without reading my post properly is just foolish. This mouse will fall short for a lot of people.
@JaredSPeters If you paid more attention, you'll see that actually I don't play that many games or use design apps all the time, so why would I want a different mouse for each? Mice have had multiple independently operable buttons for well over 30 years - my point is simply that it's not unreasonable to have expected this mouse to have the same damn feature and there was no way of knowing it would have until I got one (I pre-ordered).
i received that mouse today, and i´m so disappointed because of that issue with those clicks....always have to lift my left/right finger up for making a single click......
@MeBestNurOnly it seems to be a problem with all touch mice. Even Apple has another *special* right click gesture to access the right click. So all touch mouse can't right click how we'd like to with physical buttons.
@marauderz man, u´re right...that was my big mistake, today i´m going to bring that mouse back and I already ordered a razer mouse :D i thought touch mice r good for gaming, but they r NOT! i was very naive :D..
Are you stupid? There is no such application that uses the left and right click at the same time or left click first, right click second or vice versa. And by the way this is very fixable since this type of mouse based on software programming.
@asia911 Are YOU stupid, or just arrogant? Lots of software uses a right and left click at the same time - such as 3D design software, some games. Plenty of my design software needs to recognise left+right click+hold - and this mouse doesn't do it.
Besides that, there are lots of issues with this mouse. I have had one for four days now and I will be sending it back for a refund. Nice idea, but it's awful to use for any length of time.
@asia911 Um, the kind that only uses design software occasionally and doesn't play that many games, but doesn't want two mice?! I mean, it would be nice if the mouse worked for everything right? I guess YOU have a mouse per application that you use right? Good work, genius.
Besides that, the main problem I had with the mouse was that it was very heavy. It feels quite "sticky" to move around.
Alternative reply @asia911: Nice comeback, dick head. (I figured that might be more your level)
Any one button mouse is going to do this. There are some reasons to hate this, but it's just as easy to hook up your old mouse.

Looks like the developers actually never use the mouse themselves...

@JaredSPeters y, guess i´ll have to^^

Mice have had multiple independently operable buttons for well over 30 years - my point is simply that it's not unreasonable to have expected this mouse to have the same damn feature and there was no way of knowing it would have until I got one (I pre-ordered).

so we can play games with this can we? :(
NovaSazoku 4 months ago
@NovaSazoku you CAN play games with this, just note that if the game REQUIRES
- Middle Mouse Button
- Pressing BOTH Left and Right buttons at the SAME time
Then you're better off looking for some other NON TOUCH mouse.

i received that mouse today, and i´m so disappointed because of that issue with those clicks....always have to lift my left/right finger up for making a single click......
MeBestNurOnly 4 months ago
@MeBestNurOnly it seems to be a problem with all touch mice. Even Apple has another *special* right click gesture to access the right click. So all touch mouse can't right click how we'd like to with physical buttons.
marauderz 4 months ago
@marauderz man, u´re right...that was my big mistake, today i´m going to bring that mouse back and I already ordered a razer mouse :D i thought touch mice r good for gaming, but they r NOT! i was very naive :D..

@marauderz y...seems like... man those were made for business not for gaming etc ^^
MeBestNurOnly 4 months ago
yes ... that's really a problem ....
and i should watch this video b4 buying it ...

Are you stupid? There is no such application that uses the left and right click at the same time or left click first, right click second or vice versa. And by the way this is very fixable since this type of mouse based on software programming.
asia911 5 months ago
@asia911 Are YOU stupid, or just arrogant? Lots of software uses a right and left click at the same time - such as 3D design software, some games. Plenty of my design software needs to recognise left+right click+hold - and this mouse doesn't do it.
Besides that, there are lots of issues with this mouse. I have had one for four days now and I will be sending it back for a refund. Nice idea, but it's awful to use for any length of time.
insleys 5 months ago
@insleys I was just about to reply the same comment with regards to games and other applications which need both buttons pressed at the same time.
marauderz 5 months ago
@insleys What kind of retard who uses this type of mouse for gaming and designs?
asia911 5 months ago
@asia911 Um, the kind that only uses design software occasionally and doesn't play that many games, but doesn't want two mice?! I mean, it would be nice if the mouse worked for everything right? I guess YOU have a mouse per application that you use right? Good work, genius.
Besides that, the main problem I had with the mouse was that it was very heavy. It feels quite "sticky" to move around.
Alternative reply @asia911: Nice comeback, dick head. (I figured that might be more your level)
