GM made the decicion almost a full year before they anounced it. Long before they got any bailout money. GM made the decision to kill pontiac back in August of 2008. GM then tried to make pontiac a niche brand during bankruptcy, but the gov said no. Buick makes GM alot of money overseas and GMC is pure profit (they are nothing but rebadged, gusied-up chevys) so that left pontiac as the odd brand out..

my guess is because Bob Lutz and the other morons leading GM will not let Pontiac or Buick actually build cool cars. Instead they only let Chevy and Cadillac build them. I really hope they do. It was my first dream car when I first came to U.S. Too bad they killed it. I liked it since it's different, and it had that pop-up headlights. I know you will call me old, but I hope it comes back with the pop-up headlight, which makes it DIFFERENT than the camaro, which I am not a big fan of. Pop-up headlights makes T/A special and DIFFERENT than Camaro. I prefer Pontiac over Chevy.

I used to drive a Metallic Christmas Tree Green '97, one of only 25 ever made. That machine had balls. I never raced anything I didn't beat with that machine. The vid reminded me of when an Acura Legend tried to race me on the freeway, and left it in the dust time and time again.
