answer me something - I though all N8, N10 & N12 STi had Twin Scroll turbo's and therefore EQUAL length headers and therefore NO boxer rumble? (i say this cos i have friends with N10 sti's and they don't sound like this) - the WRX (non-STi) have sibgle scroll and therefore UNEQUAL headers and sound exactly like this clip? I'm VERY confused, or do STi in the US have Single scrolls? Where I live they are all JDM grey imports and sound different.

one thing i love about the Boxer motor in Subaru's, when you put fat ass exhaust pipes on em like this, they dont sound like rattle mobiles like those little inline 4 rice burners. hell yeah for subaru's!

@hershey710 the boxer motor has nothing to do with it. its the unequal length header. you can make a civic sound like this if you wanted its all in the unequal headers runners. the burble sound is the untimed exhaust Pulses.

@madeinchinamyass I just thought I'd share this with you, Crawford Performance makes an exhaust called the Gymkhana 1 that replicates the sound of Ken Block's car exactly. It is the single loudest exhaust you can buy for the Subaru WRX (and STI).

Turboback simply means you've replaced all stock exhaust parts from the turbo all the way back. Hence the name turbo back. But then you are right, it isn't a true straight pipe, a true straight pipe would be one pipe from the downpipe all the way to the rear. It still technically is a straight pipe since he's running a catless exhaust. You can tell it's a catless exhaust by the more raspy sound it makes and from the fact that you can hear the turbo significantly.

Straight pipe means you take the Cats and mufflers off the exhaust...For a straight pipe all there should be is well...just the exhaust tubing all the way out...and nothing intruding the pipe like mufflers or cats or resonators or anything
