I know it's just a TV Show, but if any host has ever had a genuine impact on the world it's this guy. I youtubed this video because I figured with the legacy that Barker had built up, there would be a big send-off finale for him or something, but he just ends it by thanking his viewers and reminding us to spay/neuter our pets.

All the contestants of Bob's last week also got a little something extra -- their episodes are on DVD. Bob's entire last week of shows was included in "The Best of The Price is Right" DVD box set, released in March 2008.

As far as I know, contestants signed away their rights to royalties when they entered the studio. But to be forever immortalized on a retail DVD *is* a real prize! (Hard to believe that at one point, networks DIDN'T preserve game show libraries -- they re-used the tapes.)

The thing I can't believe that this was Bob Barker's Final Episode after - how MANY? I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted a fuss, but surely CBS, or Dan Enright Prods, The Humane Society,- the Audience, Contestants, Crew, Beauties could have come up with a suitable surprise to commemorate such a momentous moment... so disappointing! I always had a great deal of respect & admiration for Mr Barker a genuine Gentleman- just 4 promoting PET welfare all these yrs he deserved a MEDAL & HUGE thanks... :)

I was in a bar and someone said, "hey see that woman over there? she was the winner of the last Price is right." Well of course I said yeah right!! Well My wife and I are now good friiends with Denise and Loren but didnt really believe her story til I saw it here on YouTube. $140,000+ in cash and prizes was awesome but she had to sell both cars to come up with the taxes to pay for the prizes. Congradulations contestants; use your prizes wisely. We may have set the record for daytime winnings on TPIR, what a time for it to happen. Bob's speech was just what we needed to close it all up; being in televison for 50 years is a milestone in anybody's book. He was gracious to have done this show and ToC for all those years. This finale didn't over do it; he treated it as an ordinary episode with only a breif mention to not get off topic. This finale gets 5 stars; it may not be topped.
