This has become a discussion about hadtih and the way one looks at them, which was not the subject.
Since we disagree about hadith, we also disagree on this about instruments. So be it. But, I still say that if it doesn't have support in the message the prophet was to give to the people, I don't think its Gods laws, in which instruments aren't haram. Nor do I believe that the prophet said those things, but if he did, fine, one can chose to fallow them; but its still not a law.
2 :116 [And they should consider that] when those who have been followed disassociate themselves from those who followed [them], and they [all] see the punishment, and cut off from them are the ties [of relationship],

@upuup Sorry, but Muhammad pbuh wasn't just delivering the Quran, he is an example for mankind. A mercy from Allah. In most cases, in such long time since the foundation of Islam, one needs to refer to hadiths in order to better understand the words of Allah. Who was better than Muhammad to teach you these? Until you believe in (authentic) hadiths, our argument is useless. Also, I am very much trying to refrain from debates for this opens doors to shaitan.

The prophet comitted sins, since he was a human being (48 : 1-2, 17: 93, 18: 110, ect.), and I think its fair to think that he has he was influenced by his time too.

@W0MANiTY I personally believe that the best way to understand whats right is to pray and ask for guidance. Hadith is not necessary to support whats said in the Quran, unless one thinks that the Quran is corrupted like the Bible.
And example in what sense? Ofc he is a good role model, that he was chosen to be the messanger on this planet says it all (+ the verses). But he commited sins too, and I don't believe that those should be fallowed, or things outside Islam (Gods message).
@upuup Allahs prophets and messengers are submitted to Islam more than anyone on the face of earth which is why we value their teachings & practices/laws/guidelines more than ourselves. Muhammad saw is the one who can explain Allahs ayats correctly, thus why we follow his teachings rather than me (for example) reading the Quran and interpreting it to my own knowledge. I believe that God made us, has all the power and its Gods laws that are to be fallowed, even though we can look at the prophets and let them inspire us too. About the prophet being the only one to perfectly understand the Quran, how do you interpretate 2: 26, 14: 24 ect. and that the prophet supposedly didn't want anything written down about him, according to autenthic hadith?

Ibrahim ibn Adham, who was famous Muslim Scholar long ago, was once asked an interestin question.A group of people came to him and one of them quoted an ayah from the Qur'an that says,
" and your lord declares, ' Call on Me and I will answer your prayer.''' (40:60)

Allah will not create something if it's not to be a temptation. The haram music is the kind of music that will lead you astray from the righteous path to Allah SWT and Muhammad SAW, the kind of music that will entice your desire. THAT is HARAM, thus THAT is the temptation. But to process musical melody into a reminder of Allah's Mighty Grace, I BELIEVE, it is HALAL. If there's anything Sami Yusuf is guilty of, it is making a video clip that shows his good looks. That's it.
And how do you know that the people who disliked the video were all Christians and Jews. They could be muslims as well. Not all Christians and Jews hate muslims so you can't make such assumptions.
I understand why you might feel this way. However, does it really change anything that somebody chose dislike. Does that hurt us in any way? Or affect our faith in any way? Ahmad, maybe you need to look within yourself and ask, "Am I a good Muslim?" Because by saying that in such a way to the Chrstians and Jews, you are only defying what our religion really stands for, which is peace, respect, and love. The haram music is the kind of music that will lead you astray from the righteous path to Allah SWT and Muhammad SAW, the kind of music that will entice your desire. THAT is HARAM, thus THAT is the temptation. But to process musical melody into a reminder of Allah's Mighty Grace, I BELIEVE, it is HALAL. If there's anything Sami Yusuf is guilty of, it is making a video clip that shows his good looks. That's it.

I understand why you might feel this way. However, does it really change anything that somebody chose dislike. Does that hurt us in any way? Or affect our faith in any way? Ahmad, maybe you need to look within yourself and ask, "Am I a good Muslim?" Because by saying that in such a way to the Chrstians and Jews, you are only defying what our religion really stands for, which is peace, respect, and love. But one question that always rose in my mind and my friends keep telling me that music is haram in islam and this man, instead of getting ajar is committing a sin by using musical instruments and now his latest album is even more advance in using rap n other things. May allah be pleased with him if he's honest and guide him to right path
