In essence, this song takes an introspective look at the turbulent 60s when America was involved with the Vietnam war -- a nuclear arms race with the Soviets -- pollution was common -- racial tensions -- an American President & other leaders were assasinated -- etc, etc. And well, what I am saying is this --> sometimes the "good ole days" are not as good as we remember them.
