The reason people propably dont like their live performances is the stage itself. Its not a kind of band with a "broad day light" mood, also, with the three of them, such a big space will only kill the mood, which is very important for a postpunk related band like this.

hate when people say negative things about a singer being off key when they sing live. once I sang a solo in 6th grade and I had a mic and the mic was so loud I couldn't even hear my real voice, only what was coming out of the speakers. It was so weird because I couldn't hear myself. Now imagine how loud is mic is at a rock concert- probably 10 times louder!

First off I love this song...but this live performance is total shit. Obviously their albums are over produced to make them sound better than they really do. I remember when I saw a different band called "Live" years back...they sounded exactly like their album did, I couldn't believe how great that was. Songs like Lightning Crashes, I Alone, etc it was probably the best concert I ever saw. Based on this video...I probably wouldn't bother going to see White Lies in concert.

To recreate studio sound (double tracked vocals, instruments)

live is nearly impossible, unless yr willing to compromise like

many artists do, by compromise i mean using pre-recorded music

instead of actually playing.it's not that they are bad live,

it's just that the listener may not know the difference between live vs produced sound (at no fault of their own)
