  • Those three hambone players really stole the show.

  • Is that the Beach Boys?

  • The 5th Beatle!

  • Bopping Billy Preston !

A gifted and well liked musican !

  • ONLY 40 THOUSAND VIEWS???? WHATS WRONG WITH THE WORLD?

  • what a singer! He could have been ten times more popular if he had made his name as a solo singer, but I'm glad he didn't!

  • This is awesome, even more than the hair and voice I love that his back-up band (including "hand clappers") are like the "jocks" from a 1949 teen B-movie comedy. Billy... WHAAAAAAAAAAT was that about?

Ha, anyway, can anyone show me evidence that he helped write this song? Never heard that before.

  • HES GOT TALLENT

  • the black beatle hahahaha

  • LOL no way, I have never seen this video! My uncle with a perm or pressed hair cut like the Beatles!! lol, uncle Billy, I soooo would have had a laugh with you about this one if you were still here! lmao

    rip :(

  • @Babyggurl35 I saw your uncle supporting the Stones in '72. They had to work hard to follow him!!

  • i love the stones but this is better. at least for soul

  • UAU

  • OMG that hair cut HAHAHAHA...

  • DAM that's all i can say got to love the 60's the white back up band. most likely have no clue what that song was lol.

  • @VrNghtOwl

and they are off beat LOL

  • I absolutely adore adore adore this!

  • did he wrote this????Not the stones??

  • Billy Preston wrote everything, The Beatles, The Stones, Pink Floyd

  • thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No he didn't please disprove me before i can believe!

  • no he didn't

  • Awesome Vid......Many Thanks from Florida!

  • this was a time black artist had to do certain things to showcase their talents to the mainstream. Look at the band behind him.

  • And if he didn't cooperate, the person at that piano singing (Billy Preston) would have looked just like the band behind him...

  • unico y singular billy preston y sus años maravillosos

  • Damn...Billy gettin' funky all the way round. With that hairdo, though, he looks a bit like Eddie Murphy as "Little Richard Simmons" or "Velvet Jones." :-)

  • Naw, Odawg, he looks like that Frankenstein on the Adams family

  • I'm gunna let this great artist Rest In Peace, so I won't be commenting on the konk, nice as it is and all...

Great to see this .I knew that this man had been kicking ass musically since he was a young one, but it a pleasure to see some of the raw evidence.Young indeed.

AND to see the circumstances he found himself in ...these happy clapping sweater fellas are almost to freaky to be true.

Billy to his self , "I guess I'm not in Kansas anymore."

  • Otis Redding had a top 40 hit with this in 1965 this version is closer to the Otis version minus the horns wailing. No doubt Billy should've had some radio hits in the mid 60's but his time was coming, becoming a Beatle for a while then massive 70's hits!

  • So much soul!! Vocal inflection makes such a difference! Awesome!

  • Gee.. being called an Idiot.. That's not nice or very civil. Am I an idiot because I identified this song from the Rolling Stones...Of course that's Billy Preston playing! That detail I didn't miss. The info I was searching was .. TV show... Shindig ..1965

If you don't have anything nice to say.... better to refrain form comment!

  • Wow.. Really interesting 1965?!? A Beatles Haircut, a Rolling Stones tune. Who are all the guys in Sweaters? What or where is this from?

Any historical perspective on this available?

  • this is a billy ppreston tune, idiot

  • it's billy preston idiot not billy ppreston!! and it is not his tune!

he's only doing a cover of it! the song was written by mick and keith of the stones! understand!!

  • LC Control No.: 91758808

    Type of Material:Music Sound Recording

Titles: (I can't get no) satisfaction

    LC Classification: Capitol ST-2532

    Published/Created: [Scranton, Pa.] : Capitol, [1966]

Performer: Organ with rhythm section ; Sly Stone, arranger.

Notes: Soul music. Program notes on container.

Last time I checked, being one of the composers of the music on the song...eliminates a person from being labeled as doing a cover tune..

  • @lovie2000 i'm under the same impression...written by mick and keith....produced by andrew loog oldham(we all know how accurate Wik is‚‚‚)......if billy preston was one of the composers...what parts did he write. the melody , chorus? just wanna know what his contribution was. =^_^=

  • @dubbedcrazy

He composed the music and played the organ "Type of Material:Music Sound Recording" So yes it is partially his song too and I believe he wrote some of it, they just didn't give him credit for..... the same way Artis and writers always done then and now....so in reality he is not doing a cover tune, he singing and playing something that he owns/ed

  • The five horsemen from a movie I saw some years ago, where these preppy white guys were brought in to sing this black mans song and they took it sung it differently than him.....I think it was a movie that Robert Townsend was in, but I can't remember the name of, but he was pissed about them taking his song.....as they always did back in the day

  • they probably didn't force, most likely paid thru the nose to get him to wear for the show.

  • Truly, truly, truly amazing little video! Vocally I think he heavily surpasses Mick Jagger, no doubt about it! Billy rest in peace, you where one of the greatest!

  • A TRUE COURAGIOUS PIONEER!

  • Who are the guys in the sweaters?

  • Billy looks like a black Beatle with his bowl haircut in this video. Pretty fitting.

  • Fantastyczne !
