  • @eddynaco

hey dude way to be a douchebag, your comment wasnt needed :)

nor was it productive to helping someone learn

    have a nice day

  • Comment removed

  • When is part 13 gonna be up!? great video!

  • It's only boring when you abuse it constantly.

  • ollaa buenoo

  • @tonoballs

no not those, its like the 1st and 3rd and then i get lost, it just has an ugly sound when i play it

  • Question... can anyone tell me if Im blind on these chords. On the last two chords of the tapping before the end bit. is he playing the 1st and 3rd fret then 2nd and 3rd?

when i play it it sounds really ugly.

  • @hereawhile he is playing the 5th and 7th

  • @hereawhile just stop playing then. It won;t sound ugly anymore, trust me it works.

  • Where are the written text and diagrams ?

  • awesome, please do a second part with the other chords and patterns played in the video :)

  • awesomely played

  • Very soothing!)

  • loving it

  • WOW! Five Stars for you..!

  • great teaching. this is how it should be over youtube for sure

  • This is AMAZING! It helped so much!

  • what id the second and the other chords?

  • Tapping = something you do in your basement (alone) for fun.

Bass playing = something you do in a band and get paid.

  • @GaryNull Victor Wooten, Stew Hamm, Michael Manring, Marcus Miller = some of the greatest bassists in the world who tap and make a living performing and getting paid.

Dislike of a technique = inability to do it well.

  • @MrGokunone You can barely count on your fingers the number bass players who make a living tapping. Bass players need to play the bass and not tap.

These bass players really want the spot light instead of doing their job. We have enough awful guitar players and dont' need bass players playing "lead".

  • @GaryNull You have no idea what youre talking abut

  • @GaryNull lol funny... Tell that cliff burton.. It never hurts to have a few different skills in your arsonal.

  • @GaryNull

Tapping = a nice skill to further advance you playing and creativity.

Bass playing = something you should love doing.

  • @GaryNull Or you can use some tapping skills in a song or two to help make it sound better and make the bass even that much more fun to play.

  • @puppetmetal I have a huge record collect and have been playing guitar and bass for 30 years. I don't own any records by tappers, guitar or bass. To me, it's just a cheap techinque that people do to "sound cool". It bores the hell out of me. Good bass playing within a band impresses me. Sure it's ok to throw in a tapped note here and there. I even do it once in a while. But for the most part it gets boring real quick.

  • thanks, you're a really good teacher.

  • This guy is phenomenal and I am thoroughly enjoying his melodic / chordal ideas. I just can't help but think of the music to "Marble Madness" whenever I hear this. :)

  • where's the "written text" that was mentioned?

  • the tap - pull of part doesnt sound clearly on my bass guitar

metropolis solo is somehow easy.. whats hard there is that you need to use 3fingers in tapping.. just practice your right hand

  • Where can you get a tab for this?

  • fucker. he just showed you how to play it. dont get spoiled

  • fuck you

  • woah u can tap on a bass that fuckin sick lol

  • nice one!!

    that is so cool..

i really like the intro ,.,

  • Great song, excellent player

  • who know another easy song for bass tapping?

I just learn this, but now I dont know how to advance.....

(sry for my bad english :S)

  • You could try learning Broken one by Trivium. It's quite an easy pattern, but good to build up your speed with :)

  • @mjukostenoust Thanks! I really like the song :O

  • @MAquaJJ

No problem, It's fun to play. But needs som stamina if you're going to play the whole riff throughout ^^.

  • Metropolis - Part I by Dream Theater has a great tapping solo it might be difficult though i dunno.

  • naa...not that tough...especially for a dt song...try it..seriously

  • hehe i just though i was speaking :D im beginning tapping too, my english also sucks and im looking for songs too.

if u would add me in icq i could send you a file including an easy tapping theme from victor wooten published in the guitar ..

    ill send u a pm with my n# ;)

  • me too!! oooh i feel great right now!

  • It's a Fodera Monarch Victor Wooten's Classic.

  • Very impressive lesson.

  • I'd fuck him

  • HAHAHA! Genius.

  • this is great, but u shud have taught the entire thing

  • whats the name of this song?

  • Fuck yeah, next time im in guitar center i wont look like a total tool

  • The one thing I hate about guitar center. It makes noobs feel total losers QQ

  • agree...

  • @twoguysandashow hahahaha thats some funny shit

  • If guys like him and Victor Wooten etc. are playing with this kind of creativity on a 4 string, any bass with 6,7,8,9, 43, or 90 strings that I might look at can just stay on the shelf .

  • Tlike buckethead's hands in the begginning

  • What chords are used? I see some fifths in the end. But I can't figure out what his right hand taps. Can anybody help me with that?

  • i play guitar and was looking for guitar tapping videos but i had to watch this because i love bass tapping

  • I've learned this about a week ago, but its hard to get perfectly clean on a 6-string. Great video though.

  • are you having the same trouble with buzz and unwanted ringing out??

    haha

put a vid up and i will too

    i also have a 6

  • As long as your fingers have adequate strength, buzzing shouldn't be too much of a problem. For the rining, the index and pinky fingers on my fretting hand mute the C string the whole time, simply because that is how they lay on the strings as I hold out the chords. I rest my plucking hand's thumb on the E string, thus muting the E and B strings. I have just a bit of trouble with accuracy though. And I don't own a camcorder or anything, so I can't take a video even if I wanted, sorry, haha.

  • yea i already got rid of te buzzing and the ringing out when i poste dthat comment it was my first day learning

now im having trouble with the sound output haha

its quiter than i want it to be unless i litterly slam my fingers on it haha

  • great! i'm studing this song!

  • this vid was really helpful, even though I still need more practice at bass and twoo handed tapping, this was still most helpful and I thank you for making the vid

  • yaaaaay i learn it complete :D

  • nice song, it's a great video, i hope play it.

  • ok i might be stupid but i cant figure out what the second chord hes playing is...

    any help?

  • A-string 7th fret

    D-string 5th fret

    G-string 7th fret

  • U ARE not stupid!!

    is better to ask!!

  • haha thanks

  • Hah, finally got it,

    Great Song!

  • where can i find this DVD ?

  • Good tutorial, but could you post the tabs or something? It's a bit boring having to watch it 5-6 times just to see what's being pressed

  • MAN HOW OLD IS THIS GUY!!!

  • An amazing teacher, amazing song, can i just ask, what chords did you use

  • best instructional video for bass guitar i have seen thus far, bar none!

  • his A string looks like its gonna snap lol

    i liked this vid alot

  • youre good

  • puuuuuuts muito foda

  • Awesome video! This is the first tapping song I have ever attempted and I've had a huge blister on my right middle finger for the last 2 weeks because of this song. It's fun as hell to play it really impresses people, it makes them think you're way better than you really are

  • haha, i know what you mean! to non-guitarists/bassists tapping looks like its really hard to do but its quite easy in most cases

  • holy crap. now i have to spend my whole weekend trying to do this. i haven't learned and hand tapping. is this difficult for tap beginers? is there a (non-boring) begginers tap lesson, that can help get the start of it? great lesson, amazing playing. i am curious how this would sound on an 8 string.

  • My right hand always misses the string when I try to tap lol.... :(

  • The first guy on YouTube, teaching bass techniques in a organized manner.

    Thanks a lot

  • Really helpful ... thanks a lot !

  • that talking dude sounds like the transavia air talker xD

  • Hey dude thanks a bunch your great

This way is simple using the left hand chords but deffinatly the best to play

it sounds great aswell especially when i learnt your preview bit at the end, that sounds very interesting

  • Any one suggest amp settings good for tapping? Awesome vid!

  • on my am-peg I use 5

  • hay wey es un pinche morro, io kreo ke era el puto narrador, esta pelada...con practica se puede...

lo bueno que me enseñe a usar tapping

  • Thank you for teaching us this beautiful technic. The bass players need people like you!.

  • drops jaw, I've never seen a bass played like that since Les Claypool of Primus, you and him both have an interesting way of playing bass. thanks you for sharing*

  • thanks for this it wasn't to hard to figure out but it helped out a lot

  • this is the kinda of stuff I do... very nice.

  • good i can the now :)

  • fuckin' awesome!

  • whoa...dude...you look like you are about twelve years old...but your bass playing sounds as if you've been playing for about 50 years...sounds great...

  • This is so badass!

...and I wonder how much long will I have to play to be half as good as you. 5/5

  • It's not about the time. It's about how hard or how efficiently you practice. This guy is good though :)

  • where is the written stuff? is it on his website or did i miss something

i really wnat to play this

  • nevermind same choard my bad

  • it would help if u show the choard

  • just tremendous! inspiring! thank you!

  • it hurts so bad but i feels so good. great video

  • my favorite part is the reverb on the voice at the intro .

  • reminds me of reading rainbow

  • me too !! *-*

  • I want to learn the rest!!! Anyone know where I can find it?

  • Best instructional video I've come across so far; but I wish the end part was slown down so I could learn that too.

  • omg i never could tap cuz i didnt know any tapping things (or even how to((didnt know wat the left hand did)) but this helps so much

  • this line is beautiful, but only if you play it much slower, summin like 120 bpm i think.

at this speed its just showing off

  • nah i think its perfect at this rate.

  • yeah i mean it is really pretty slow but it doesn't loose that when its fast ya know. sounds great to me still.

  • oo el ql brigido

  • omg the guy who says it doesnt tell u what chords they are is a complete tool... you can see the bloody fret board close enough!! use ur ears and ur eyes boy..

    you dont know

its something that can be mastered with practise and sounds amazing

    thanks

  • Yeah it's actually something even a first time tapper (like I was when I first watched this) can learn quite well within 30 minutes. It really helps for first timers.
