All hydrolic splitters for home use I've seen has been slow. The kinetic (flywheel etc) ones are a lot faster.

@kode1303 You need two cogwheels. One big, one small.
Reduces power to speed.
You do not want flywheel, not if you value your fingers thatis.

The biggest problem is that the hyd. pump hes using doesnt produce enough gpm to the ram. For that size ram you would need at least 4 gpm @ 3000 psi. My guess is that hes using a 2.5 gpm 5hp hyd. pump...
