Where 13-bedar came from? Read "Torah Esther 9" (Jewish wife of خشایار): "On the 13th day, in all the provinces of King Xerxes (خشایار), Jews got the upper & struck down Persians with the sword (same people who rescued them from Babylon, 50 years ago), killing them. All nationalities were afraid of Mordecai (identical to the Jews in USA). In the citadel of Susa, the Jews killed 75000 of them but did not lay their hands on the plunder. On the 14th they made it a day of feast (عید پوریم)
This is cool but its to small compared to an Ethiopian New Year Celebration in L.A. We have a lot more people and a whole lot of activities. But still this is cool. go Iranians!,
@GraveYardOfEmpires with all respect to u azizam lol these people are not Arabs they are Iranians celebrate their new year in Balboa park & am 100 %100 because I was in the park with them with my ex-boyfriend which by the way is dark is also Iranian lol all they was iranias no dark fat arabs like you said I do not understand why are u ashamed of ur people & insulting to other races regardless of race color or religuieon we should respect &be proud of where we come khodahafez
Because i've been there numerous times. It's not an exaggeration, the beverly hills and westwood persian community is generally known to be some of the most self-absorbed, shallow people in LA, which is saying a hell of a lot.
They actually had to change Beverly Hills construction bylaws and standards because too many persians were coming in, destroying old historic houses, and building giant ugly boxes on the properties.
Wow that looks like fun, not too many iranians in my city, and the ones who are here are hardcore immigrants who don't really do anything but argue politics :(
Too bad so many of the iranians in LA are shallow people who gossip and only care about money, they make the rest of them look bad.
I think dance could truly be a global unifier. Imagine if it were mandatory for all military personnel (and our political leaders) to learn the dances of their "enemies." Bravo to the filmmaker for sharing these sights, sounds and this joyous community with all of us.
How wonderful to see and absorb the flavors and sounds of the joyous occasion! It's almost like being right there with the celebrants. I feel like getting out of the chair and dancing too!
