    can you run widows server on any pc or do you need a specific machine??

    same question for lunix server?

    and can i run linux server and get connect to it by using pc runnings windows?

  • The Windows Home server sounds like a knock of of Apple's Time Machine and Time Capsule. (of course i could be wrong but that's what it sounds like to me).

  • I doubt it... it came out a few months before Time Machine and about a year before Time Capsule...

    but really, the Windows Home Server is not THAT great... or innovative... it's just a server that's been condensed for home use...

    Time Machine and Time capsule are amazing because of the innovative way it automatically wirelessly backs up every computer in the house, but mainly because of the totally new way of restoring files (i.e. the time machine interface)

  • Other way around. Mac copied windows home server, windows home server was out before time machine and capsule.

  • Mac always copies windows and then makes its products look nicer than windows, so that people notice it more, its not even better. Look at time machine, everyone thinks its that great but really windows home server does like 10x more that stupid time machine does.

  • you dont need to share you stuff with USA gorvnment nor microsoft.

    this machine will have all kinds of backdoors when connected to the internet.

    can use it safely only if it is appart of your internet conection.
