  • to bad the record of 22lb 4 oz was just tied about 2 weeks ago on a live blue gill. plz someone tell me how this isnt fake

  • @GrippinLipps I read the story a while back in field and stream it was real but the fish was false hooked/ snagged and then was found the next spawning season dead. it was real!!

  • @NorthernFisher092909 It happened in 2009 in japan not 5 days ago :p

  • @NorthernFisher092909 man, the live bluegill bass from japan was caught like a year or 2 ago not 2 weeks ago, It was caught on live bluegill by Manubu kurita from japan in Lake Biwa Japan

  • @danktoker87 For him to be out on the water every day I think he would have deserved it

  • That guy is wearing Kaenon sunglasses and those are beast

  • she is dead they found her floating in the lake according to B.A.S.S.

  • she is dead they found her floating on the lake. the disected that bitch

  • SHE PROBALLY DIED CAUSE U SNAGGED HER........FUCKHEAD.

  • @ktek74 Chill, sometimes foulhooks are better than mouth...or gill hooks. and her children with superior genetics are out there.

  • JED DICKERSON" If i dont catch her i dont want no one to catch it" What a fucking jackass did you breed her and grow her up into a world record bass? NO! you happen to be on the lake when she was spawning and you saw her. Doesnt make her your fish. Im glad you snagged her and lost the world record you dont deserve it. mac weakley your a cool guy i wish you had landed her bro!

  • @danktoker87 lol i hope jed puches you i nthe face fuck tard

  • Like it or not, the big bass that you guys are sight fishing....LMFAO.... for in Kommiefornia are Florida strain Largemouth Bass.

  • @grippinlipps wheres lake dixon? i gotta go there.

  • Catch and release is great. Fish fattened up on stocked fish fry is fine too. But catching fish off of spawning beds? Seriously? It's usually frowned upon and in some states banned. Just what about that do they think is 'sporting'? Foul catching too? When you jig fish for females off spawning beds you'll do that way more often and kill more fish in the process. I wouldn't consider any fish caught in the way a 'record'. Put an asterisk next to it in the record books.

  • @dottybass57 Would you consider a fish caught with live bait a record? thats how Manabu Kurita of Japan cought the record tieing fish. In my opinion a fish caught on live bait should not be allowed into the record books. It takes zero skill. The fish is obviously going to eat it because it is REAL. Its not a rubber lure that you have to trick the fish into believing its real with skill.

  • @Mrjalapenothethird Catching bass during spawn and with live bait is very skillful. You still have to trick the bass to take your bait on a bed. Not to mention giant females are the hardest to catch on a bed. Also fishing with live bait doesnt make anything easier.. You still have to get the bait where the fish are. Cant just throw it out and expect it to be that easy. I think throwing a senko will catch you more bass than a big live bluegill will.

  • @GrippinLipps You may catch more small bass but definitaly not more larger ones. I have personally seen people use live bluegill and they catch big bass everytime in a matter of minutes. What takes even more skill is catching spawning bass with something like a swimbait or a jig. There is not an arguement that catching bass with lures is easier than using live bait . WIth a lure you have to locate the bass, cast to it, make the hunk of metal and plastic look like a fish, then hook the fish...

  • He has a good point. i am 100% catch and release and i would have hated to see someone catch and register her as the world record then reward the beautiful fish by putting her up on their wall. She died naturally and not from a careless person seeing dollar signs

  • Man it sounds like all you Florida boys are on your period boohoo why are you mad ?

  • Just wait until her kids get big...

  • I'm an Alabama boy and iv never saw such a big bass I respect u all

  • his bass later was found dead as a floater he said he was so glad she died a natural death it had a dot on her gill plate

  • awesome video

  • awesome video

  • i bet he drove home crying

  • GREAT VIEDO

  • where is lake dixon at

  • @BassHoles1 California, where all the 10+lbrs are, watch butch brown 65+lb limit on YouTube, he gets 5 10+lb bass and a 18lb kicker!!!

  • @WisconsinBassin

They leave out of the story the fact that these bass are a fast growing species that were relocated from Florida to specific lakes in California including Lake Dixon.

They also leave out the fact that Lake Dixon is stocked with huge amounts baitfish every year which is the reason that the bass get so large - they're feeding on captive raised baitfish that are released into Dixon by the state wildlife department.

They are the largest largemouth bass in USA, but it's NOT natural.

  • @forthedefence81 I personally think any world record Largemouth caught in Kommiefornia should be immediately disqualified due to the bs methods that they use to target a particular fish. The Largemouth Bass is and always will be a "southern thang" and it should remain that way.

  • @Gingifluff shut up faggot. largemouth are the same everyone. just cuz we have trout fed fish doesnt mean our fish are any different fucking dumbass.

  • @Gingifluff Nope the largemouth is not a "Southern thang" it's not even a "American thang", its more of a "worldwide thang", it can be found in Mexico, Cuba, Korea, Japan, South Africa, North Africa, Spain, Germany, Philippines, China, Brazil, Guatemala, and a bunch of other places. And what methods are you talking about? Just go back to your jug fishing and let us Kommiefornias show you how catching big bass is done, have fun with your 5lb'ers.

  • @turkey2003 Yeah but there different types of Bass the large Mouth a native in North america Yes it a nation way thing too in the U.S but in the southern states it's what there knowed for

  • @forthedefence81 Yeah these are the Florida sub species of fish but so what? Most bass stocked anywhere in the U.S. since the 1970's are. Second lake Dixon is NOT stocked with baitfish, I don't know where you got this info from? It is stocked with trout but they are stocked for fisherman not the bass, the fish and game department hates it when the bass eat these fish because they are expensive and actually quit stocking some lakes because bass were eating too many of them.

  • i wont kiss her cuz she stinky!

  • i fish lake dixon all the time and i don't catch nothin

  • @Sk8Chula93 shutup y would u cry

  • hahah some found a massive floater might be 20 pounds...lol immature humor

  • My friend chris and i caught a 22lb bass in south Fla. we took turns reeling it in for almost 20 mins.He has a picture of it on a digital scale borrowed from his neighbor. So there are still monsters out there. The reason there are monster bass in Cali is because fishermen took fish from Fla. and brought them there by plane!!!

  • @donny29dsm thats true, and i think the next world record bass will be in FL

  • The determination of a true American. I salute you sir

  • biggest bass ive caught was 11 lbs i was 8 lol

  • I just shit my pants

  • OMG...

  • hahhaha when did u catch that it looks rotten

  • fat a** bass

  • Could u use a shad to catch a bass? Is it legal?

  • @RobloxFlame you can its legal they like them alot

  • Anyone notice how hard it was for this guy to hold up 25 pounds, lol

  • @alarm776 its not light at all and holding it with your hand it will cut your hand up

  • Lake Harding in Harris County, Georgia has a World Record Bass. I seen this fish feeding at 4:30 am while Catfishing from the dock. The Mouth on this Bass was so huge that half of it stuck out of the water as she swooped up Shad. I put her at least 30 lbs if not bigger. She frequently returns always at the same time 3:30 to 4:30 and then by 5:00 she is done feeding.

  • @alrozz well quit tellin' us about it and catch it!

  • @alrozz then catch it

  • IT WAS SNAGGED !!!

  • Whats that thing on top of that fish head. seems like that bass committed suicide by hitting itself in the head..lol

  • The record doesnt seem all that impressive if you keep fishing for the same fish in the same lake that you've caught before and you know its in there.

  • @ruscccpsia2010 Not impressive? the fact that it has been hooked before makes it all the more impressive. now the big girl is hook shy. foul hooked or not they got the record in my book.

  • @angler685 Lol ur such a fukin noob u neever caught a bass over 25lbs

  • Those guys are awesome. At least they didn't lie about foul hooking it. They could have easily taken the world record, must have been a tough decision. That fish was DIESAL!

  • i understand why they were relieved, but at the same time, its gotta be like having a dream right on the tips of your fingers and then watching it fly right out the window!! :( she was beautiful!

  • @angler685 pfft whatever. get it on video.

  • No such thing as a 58 pound large mouth

  • dang thats a big fish

  • damn thats a big ass bass

  • Quit holding it by the jaw! That fish is a beast. Respect it. I cringe every time i see people hold big fish by the jaw.

  • there is a reservoir that i know and a story that when they drained the reservoir one time there were all sorts of fish and there was a bass that was so big they weighed it and it was like 58 pounds and they cooked it then they saw that the bass was worth a million bucks. so yea theres monsters bigger than dotty out there.

  • @xfiles1952 I can 100% gurantee you there is not a 58 pound largemouth bass anywhere in the world.

  • @xfiles1952 dude...there was no bass 58 pounds

  • @xfiles1952 That story is BS.

  • @xfiles1952 that was probably a hybrid striper, not a largemouth.....

  • @xfiles1952 Your probly thinkin of a striped bass, no largemouth will grow to 58lbs it will die of old age first.

  • poor dotty died only a couple of days after catching her

  • Lol these guys snagged dotty while she was spawning.. no wonder she died later

  • persistence is key. You guys are freakin' awesome. Go catch another one:)

  • Fantastic effort. My only comment is that when weighing a fish that large, holding it up by it's mouth is potentialy dangerous for the fish. It could cause a life threatening injury. 25 lbs is a lot of weight to be supported by a small area of it's mouth.

  • That thing weighs more than the King Salmon I caught. :/

  • i bet if they werent video taping they would of kept dotty

  • @MrBallaBing They wanted a world record not dinner for the family.

  • RIP Dotty, just wait for her children...

  • R.I.P Dotty

  • it may be possible that THEY infact killed the fish. when you handle a fish over 10 pounds you need to support its belly or else you can dislocate its jaw so the fish cant eaT

  • Those are real fisherman, to let a monster bass go like that. I wish there were more fishermen like that.

  • R.I.P DOTTY!!!

  • ah man thats crazy. ill kill to catch a bass like that

  • her spawn will be huge

  • there is always another one there is another dotty somewhere

    Sherif

  • respect to these guys. They know what they are doing, the are completely committed, they give it their all and love what they are doing. That is awesome. I would have loved to see them get that pig...but nature runs its course. They will find another.

  • I'd rather catch a 5lb schoolie anyday on anchovies than Dottie. BOORRING.

  • nice video but something fishy bout the story im no pro and have yet to foul hook a bedding bass you just have to wait till it carrys it off the bed you just have to wait if not today maybe tomarrow and now you guys opened a whole can of worms on yourselves.

  • rip dotty the big ass bass !!!!!!!!!

  • rip dotty!!!!

  • Dotty was a legend and legends live forever!!!!!

in loving memory of Dotty the bass

  • Dotty was a legend and legends live forever!!!!!

in loving memory of Dotty the bass

  • Dotty was a legend and legends live forever!!!!!

in loving memory of Dotty the bass

  • how did it die?

  • That guy is a true fisherman! Foul hooked or not he still hooked it and landed it may not be considered certified but it sure does in m book

  • R.I.P. Dotty!

  • wicked big fish

  • Long Live DOTTY!! would love to have a chance to catch a fish like that here in Georgia to keep the Record in the State!

  • to badd... manabu still the hold the record, yes

  • damm thats a big ass bass i would of take it home

  • now thats a fish dont get much bigger than that great catch sucks u didnt win though great job again!!!

  • PLZ BUY MY HOMADE BAITS KAFINKFOUR

  • dedication.. love it

  • can never go wrong with gloomis and calcuttas baby!

  • can never go wrong with gloomis baby!

  • You guys are crazy for admitting that fish was foul hooked! Now a panfaced zipper-head owns the record and you guys are still at your day jobs. Sucks- honesty does not pay!

  • @878787GH the truth dosent sell these days

  • Never seen one that fat.Hope she laid all those eggs for some baby Dotties

  • Jeds a selfish idiot.Jerks like him make all fisherman look bad.

  • @SilverBullet22250 Would you rather some knuckle head that put no time at all in it, get the record that has been chased since Perry got it ? This guy let it go when he caught it before, and was honest enough to say he foul hooked it after it was big enough to beat the record. The only 'jerkish' thing here is the comment you made.

  • @SilverBullet22250 Sad that some people who cant catch a minnow need to comment like this, What it's selfish to like your fishing and do it well. If the rules say you can catch fish while they are on the spawn, go get em,, but hay jerks are born everyday so we see your problem,, He didn't make me look bad, just people who cant catch a minnow

  • after that much dedication towards that fish... it must have felt like you lost your best friend afterwords

  • 25lb? that breaks the world record by 3 pounds..how come this isnt it?

  • @jaqua524 It was fowl-hooked, so it does not count

  • wow you guys caught that bass 3 times and finally you found it dead WOW id just get it stuffed and put on the wall

  • @rpogue65 That bass was only caught twice by them. the time before mike long caught it....

  • @GrippinLipps Mike Long also holds the Diamond Valley lake record. Its only 16.43 now, but I gurantee the next world record will come from Diamond Valley lake

  • @rpogue65 Maybe it died BECAUSE YOU CAUGHT IT THREE TIMES!!!

  • @lcmorgan1221 Ill give this situation the benefit of the doubt and call this bass a florida strain, which grow about 2~3 pounds per year. The avereage life span of a bass is around 15 years. so dotty was prolly around 13. She was also carrying a retarded amount of weight for a fish, being around 3 pounds heavier than the next biggest bass ever caught. So she wasnt going to live a long life anyways. the fact she got caught 3 times didnt kill her, the fact she was fat as shit did

  • @lcmorgan1221 Fish are remarkably resilient. Especially the biggest one in the lake.

  • noobs, ur not fisherman ur hunters, you should just use dynomite, spawn season/snagged...dumb

  • wow he didnt want anyone to catch his fish stinghy

  • stingy mother. get a life dumbass

  • stingy mother fucker. get a life dumbass

  • Great story

  • i'm glad she got to live a full life in the water and some punk ass didn't catch her and keep her.....C.P.R. 100%

  • He aint gonna find the new world record. Psshht.

  • haha, only in fishing do we love the fat girls

  • this guy is a total prick, he isn't even trying to have other people fish for the bass. he wants to hold it for him. stay at home with your fucking family. the fish was foul hooked because he casted on a god damn spawn bed. that isn't fishing, you sat and disturbed a fish trying to lay fucking eggs. you dumb fuck.

  • Holy crap its eyes are poppin out!

  • sucks u couldnt get the record but nice fush

  • what brand hoody is that bone fish symbol

  • HE WAS A HONEST GUY , BECAUSE IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE THEY WOULD LIE SAYING THAT THE FISH TOOK THE HOOK . OR MAYBE BECAUSE HIS FRIEND WAS THERE HE COULDN,T LIE , NEVER KNOW . INTERESTING STORY.

  • FIRST!

  • RIP!!!!!!!!!

  • i have seen bass that are close to that one.... my freind has a private lake.. stocked it in 1990. and he just started fishin in it.... that lake has about 60 15-20 pound bass. if you want me to upload a vid of me trollin down the lake with a fish finder showin you those giant bass than like this comment

  • nice vid

  • do you know were i can get the sweater at 2:02 ?

  • The greatest Micropterus salmoides story/ attempt/ failure/ success in official history.

Dotty will always be my #1.

R.I.P. and thanks for the memories.

  • I guess I have to visit Dixon Lake. =]

  • The guy in the background sounds like the guy from the sand lot.

  • I OULD HAVE CRYED

  • I thought I was crazy for fishing. These guys are truly a bit insane and/or greedy to get noteriety and money from 1 bass. The guys partner is a total ass. It's a free world to fish for everyone and he hoped it died? what a selfish ass. It was a simple case of luck while experimenting with a lure there. freakin morons.

  • R.I.P. Dotty, You were a star!

  • lol now i know why rapala put dotty as the monster largemouth bass...

  • 25lbs? thats a record? a year ago a man caught a 17lb bass in the lake i live on!

  • im gay

  • R.I.P

  • Practice catch and release everyone. They say that big fish get stressed the most, and have the biggest risk of dying. This fish was release 3 times before it dies naturally!!! Please people, get the picture, and save our sport!

  • Why is the fishes death good??

  • definitely shot in the head @8:44 but for what reason?

  • THIS IS A AWSOME VIDEO, I WATCH IT OVER AND OVER. THAT IS A "HUGE" BASS..IT WAS KINDA SAD IT DIED AT THE END, BUT DOTTY WAS A STRONG,LONG LIVIN FISH AND IT WAS TIME FOR HER TO GO..RIP DOTTY, U WAS AN AMAZING FISH...

  • i hope there is a world record bass caught soon

  • R.I.P. DOTTY That was one big fucking fish!!!!

  • holy crap! That is a HUGE fish... I've been fishing for 20+ years, but damn, these guys are seriously obsessed.

  • Uh, sorry, but it's NOT the same type of obsession as Michael Jordan had, who was rewarded with several hundred million dollars and worldwide fame for his obsession. This guy is losing serious time with his family to catch a damn fish...he needs to get his priorities straight.

  • It's crazy the aura that is around this record.....legendary only begins to describe it.I'd be happy with just a 10lb'r and these guys are chasing fish twice that size!

  • RIP? Did "Dotty" die?

  • These guy's are model fishermen. They released a huge catch and fished for it everyday, I know if it was me i would have done the same exact thing

  • What makes the fish so big in that lake? I wouldn't think there'd be that much forage as the surrounding area looks pretty dry and rocky. Are they feeding on lots of trout or something?

  • You are living my dream. Man I want a crack at that beast.

  • DAMN! :O

  • R.I.P. dottie.. good to know she got to spawn one last time and get more genes in the lake... i wanna know why there is a gash in the top of her head.. weird

  • jjj

  • did you guys get her stuffed? i would have.

  • I love this video!

  • hoooooooooooolllllllllllyyyyyyyyy shhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttt, every real man's dream catch gaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I understand the ideal hunt for dotty, what we call her here is Ironjaw. We have a pond (small lake) here locally that I have fished since i was 6. Its well know for producing very large bass. Hooked a ten pounder when i was 12 that had a bald spot on his head. Caught him again the next year same spot he weighed 14. two years later i ve hunted him daily hung him several times but can never get him to the boat hooks will not stick tried everything. Ironjaw is uncatchable, RIP Dotty

  • @jumpfinder maybe it has no jaw lol thats y u cant hook it lmao

  • omg in kendal miami in hammocks middle school theres like a 43 lb pound bass its like 4 feet long and its a large mouth i swear if anybody lives in kendal go there now. its like 2x the size of that i hooked it wit 30lb line and it snapped it like nothing

  • r.i.p doty

  • Dam such a waste and sad to see something that big die.

  • wow thats really small there is one 2 ttimes bigger than that in clearlake califorina

  • @reinstadler1 You're an idiot. There's a 50 pound bass in clearlake????

  • @reinstadler1 i bet you have 10 pound perch at your lake too

  • @reinstadler1 so theres a 50lb largie in clear lake?

    hm

    lol

    you're exagerating

  • I saw this show but it got deleted after having recorded for months. I watched this episode probably 23 times or something
