That is how they make the cars last longer and decrease the maintainance issues/costs. The veyron was built Over spec. If bugatti actually wanted to have some fun, they could produce a bugatti with over 2500 horsepower. All other competitions have their engine and parts panting for its breath. Whereas the veyron is merely brisk walking as you max out the trottle.

@ctm911 bugatti is quad turbo'd but ok. and the buggatti got to its top speed on a 3 mile log track. while the 78 valiant got to the speed of 260mp (best guess because no car goes a rounded diggit perfectly) on a 1 mile track. not to metion that the buggatti team messed with gear ratio to get the car going that fast. while the valiant has a simply geared transmission. hands down valiant winds head to head drag race on a 3 mile track. worlds fastest STREET LEGAL car.

@forzainsane Had a search and that's bullshit. There is no tune for that, and I've tried to get it to go as fast it can before and simply putting a race trans in it will not work. If you're telling the truth then you've glitched it. Doubt it though.
The SSC hits an artificial "brick wall" at 257mhp. The real car can go faster but has never been tested on a track or road long enough to do it. So, T10 put a stopper on it's speed at the fastest it's ever gone. That's why you are pulling hard till you just stop at 257ish.

Tune up the SSC Ultimate Aero and race the tuned bugatti veyron against it and we would see which one would win that and we all should know which one would win at that.
@darrencol At speeds look at the telemetry of the 2wd car you will find out that the drive tires are slipping (going faster then the car) due to not enough traction because of lift at those speeds.
the 4wd don't suffer from this as badly or not at all.
@darrencol like i said... top end accel... if the bugatti is fully modified then it has a tranny tune in which case then it can reach 262mph, i've only gotten my ssc to barely hit 260.but stock the bugatti doesnt stand a chance

you have to understand that the veyron is a supercar with 4 wheel drive and the most luxurious interior and technology. they have a system which controls how much horsepwer is allowed into each gear. say 1st gear only allows 300hp, 2nd allows 350, 3rd allows 500, 4th allows 575,5th allows 700, 6th allows 900 and 7th allows all 1001 hp, that was created in order to keep the traction that it has. it is also almost 4000 pounds, the downforce system is incredible... so tell me why the veyron
this is a poor representation of these cars in real life. in the game the ssc is limited to its record speed of 257, but that was set with like 1170hp(ish), the car in the game is rated at 1287hp (as per the 2010 model) so its top speed should have been extrapolated by the in game physics, like it is with the extra power in veyron, to the actual top speed it could achieve, retarded turn 10 for you.
A real drag race starts from 0 mph sorry the only reason this was a rolling start was because the bugatti would have flew by this video is a rolling start because this guy wanted it to look like the ssc had a chance which it didn't

@killercow46 I Just Finished tuning my Lambo Reventon, 1,243 HP , 1162 Ft/Lb Torque and my gear ratio is set up perfictly! its top speed is 264 (witch is better then both Bugatti and SSC) and it 0-60 is in 2.9 Seconds!

so ignorant you would see that the ssc has 200 more hp and more torque its lighter more aerodynamic and rear wheel drive, but why is it only 2mph faster. bugatti has also created the veyron super sport which is evenly matched with horsepower it is still heaier than the ssc but it does 268.

TO @joshti1: and did you know the veyron has a control for that??? when it goes into a slight turn which by the way the ssc cant handle when going that speed the veyron decreases speed on the inside tires of the turn and adds that speed to the outer wheels, therefore the awd therory you were trying to prove about the veyron, bugatti invented technology to make that theroy not apply to the veyron which means everyway the car has a disadvantage they make a system to make an advantage.

you have to understand that the veyron is a supercar with 4 wheel drive and the most luxurious interior and technology. they have a system which controls how much horsepwer is allowed into each gear. say 1st gear only allows 300hp, 2nd allows 350, 3rd allows 500, 4th allows 575,5th allows 700, 6th allows 900 and 7th allows all 1001 hp, that was created in order to keep the traction that it has. it is also almost 4000 pounds, the downforce system is incredible... so tell me why the veyron

this is a poor representation of these cars in real life. in the game the ssc is limited to its record speed of 257, but that was set with like 1170hp(ish), the car in the game is rated at 1287hp (as per the 2010 model) so its top speed should have been extrapolated by the in game physics, like it is with the extra power in veyron, to the actual top speed it could achieve, retarded turn 10 for you.

a veyron can beat a areo tt in a drag stock it is 3mph slower but in a 1/4 mile your not hitting 257 or even in a full mile the veyron accelerates faster sorry to say
