well what happened to the video where she was singing this at the mlk celebration where a piece of her dress came off after she threw the mic stand clear across the stage- that was the best one- this is second because she live with it on soul train and you know back then you had to be the best to sing live on that show!!!

Patti LaBelle, is that rare performer that comes along and redefines what "singing" is and how its supposed to be done. Ive seen this woman in concert, near 45 times, LIVE. Im 42 yrs old, so I can remember seeing her and LaBelle, when I was 5 and 6 yrs old. And a lot of singers have come and gone in that time, but she's STILL here. And her EFFORT HAS NEVER DROPPED OFF.
I don't care, Patti can blow!!. She has a God given TALENT and every body need to recognize and pay close attention to her. She ain't no joke at all !!!!!!!!!!!!.
Did y'all see that one person in the back who was jumping up and clapping as Patti went to church? LOL Didn't take long for the rest of them to clap. You don't dance when she sings a ballad like this. LOL That's why they just looked at her when she sang "If Only You Knew" two and a half years later hahaha.

What do you mean exactly by power? I am a little confused...she has the same if not more POWER to me...the clarity of some songs are not so clear, but that comes with age. And she still sounds awesome in my opinion.
Then again dont think she was lip syncing...lol...but yeah when she was in her prime she was a force to be wreckoned with, but she got better as she got older..tho....cause even when she was in her 40's she sang the roof off.
