lol i tried plants in my pond.... didnt last long at all, i had the exact same ones u have (minus the lotus), but they just killed everything.... they didnt even eat it they just chewed it all up and spat it up to let it all diE!
Oh I see what you did. Instead of a turtle being confused about being in a tank, it's in a "pond". So, instead, they are happy in a pond that they can't escape from. It's all a little confusing, but I guess I understand the reason they have turtle ponds. Plus, there are no tanks big enough for these entertaining pets! Mind if I steal some of your brilliant ideas when making my turtle pond?
yes they do; and it can get very annoying sometimes. they dont eat the umbrella/papyrus standing up plant because the stalks are super hard, but they eat the floating water hyacinth and water lettuce (or they just nip off all the roots). its a good idea to have a side pond to grow a constant supply.
I gave them to my grandma (and grandpa). (whom then complained they were quite small). we caught a couple every day...so she had eat some every day lol.
tilapia is a very delicious cuisine here in the philippines

is it possible to leave turtles in the ponds in the winter and do you need a heater like a fish tank
TheBigkev670 9 months ago
@TheBigkev670 I live in Honolulu, Hawaii. It rarely gets below 70, so I leave them out all year round without a heater.

Very nice pond! It must be so nice to live in Hawaii. I'm sure it's ordinary for you but it's a big deal for someone like me in the states. =)
