i remember seeing these guys at birmingham university they were the main act. i thought they were excellent . Anyway there was a number of bands supporting them that night, one band came out and the lead singer had a big quiff and a flower in his back pocket, there was only about 20 people there as we got there really early, i went to the bar to buy a pint and didn;t listen to them really i was trying to chat up some girl. i found out about 15 years later it was the smiths !! how mad is that
Oh this takes me back 20 years ..or more..! Aylesbury. This was the last song of the night. All the skinheads stomped. It was the signal to go home and no-one would go home until it was played. Henry the wasp! Henry the wasp!
the lead singer in the highliners (luke) was married to my mum he is a wicked guy and i was fortunate enough to grow up with the songs and the amazing talents of th rest of the group including stretch(kev),steve, vorn and tim they are all like uncles to me.
There the campest phycobilly's ive ever seen. Never realised at the time ! Must of been pissed. Saw these a few times live, thought they were good. Sadly i'm soberer
